For many years, I've been quite pleased with the service from AutoZone on North Main (store #0471). It's my go-to car parts and accessories store when I'm in High Point. This AutoZone is located in the same shopping complex as Carmike Eight, across the street from Walmart and Chick-fil-A.
I stopped by here last week on a rainy Saturday, just after New Year's, when noticing my windshield wipers were loud and leaving streaks. They were due for a replacement. I swung by AutoZone on my way home from dinner a few minutes before the store closed at 9pm. Sales manager Mark and associate Saad greeted me.
I told Mark I needed a new pair of wiper blades. I told him the year, make, and model of my car. Letting me stand next to him and look at his computer screen, he looked up the wiper blades compatible with my car and said he had several varieties in stock. He walked me over to the wiper blade section where there was a decent selection of brands from Duralast to Rain-X.
When buying parts for my car, I normally wait and do research online first so I know exactly what I want. However, with rain in the forecast for the next day coupled with a long road trip, safety was a concern. I asked Mark for his advice and he recommended at least Duralast, so that is what I went with. The DL-21 Duralast wiper blades were $10.29 each. There was also a special on the Rain-X blades -- buy two and get one half-off. I think one Rain-X blade was $30+. Tempting offer.
While Saad rang me up (6.75% tax = $21.97 total), Mark began unpacking the wiper blades so he could install them on my car at no cost. I know it's not a big deal, but it was a nice gesture. Mark removed my old wiper blades and installed the new ones with no problem. He also showed me how to remove the new blades when the time comes. I appreciated it. Additionally, he pointed out the wind deflector on one of my original blades, which the Duralast blades don't have. I kept the wind deflector blade just in case.
A big thank you to Mark and to Saad, who was friendly and polite, as well. I actually called the store and talked to manager Steve so I could get Mark's name so I could mention him in this review. read more
