I'll try and keep this short. It took 2 days and a phone call to get an online order filled. I should have inspected the order better because the brake pads were not as ordered. I ended up having to spend $60 from another store to finish my break job. Contacted customer service (India) left a complaint for the district manager. Karen called the next day and after I sent her a copy of the receipt. She offered a $50 gift card to cover the extra cost. I was going out of town so she said call her when I return (4 days later). I tried several times to reach her with no success. She uses Google voice as her work phone. After several attempts over the next few weeks she finally called me back and said she didn't get a notification that I call. It was a Friday afternoon so she said call me Monday and I will let the store manager know you are coming. Again she failed to answer. I again tried randomly of the next couple of weeks to get a hold of her. Eventually after calling her back to back to back 12 times and leaving a 3 minute voice mail each time she had the store manager call. She didn't even have the common courtesy to call me herself. He said stop by tomorrow to get it. When I got there he wasn't there and no one in the store knew anything about it. After 2 phone calls they finally managed to get me a gift card for $45.99 not the 50 promised. I took it and left. The store was a party with loud music playing and the employees looking at videos on their phones. I went and spent the gift card and will never use AutoZone again. read more

This review is specifically about Jesse! He is nothing short of amazing. Yesterday my husband and I had an issue with our 2007 Mini Cooper. The check engine light came on and the whole car was shaking. We brought it to Autozone because they just plug something in to the car and are able to tell you exactly what is making that light come on. Jesse checked and told us it could be one of three issues and he suggested we try to fix it ourselves. Anyone who knows anything about BMW manufactured cars knows the price to get anything fixed can be astronomical. We started with what would be the cheapest problem to fix first at Jesse's suggestion. Neither my husband nor I know anything really about cars so Jesse walked us through all the steps and even did a lot of it for us. The first option didnt work. So we tried the second. Didnt work. Tried the third and it worked! Jesse helped us turn a potential $1,000+ fix at the dealer into a fix that cost under $100. Hes wonderful! read more

I recently referred my very good friend to see Leo surrounding her vehicle's battery, which Leo diagnosed as holding only a two-thirds charge causing a slight pause prior to the starter engaging. Instead of moving right to a battery sale, Leo suggested to drive the vehicle more than the recent infrequent use. My salesmen helped me me fix my windshield washer fluid lead connectors which were cracked and not supplying juice. He installed them and had me test it out to be sure it was working. He helped me find an anti-corrosion kit for my battery, my air filter, and my brake light bulb. He was so nice, friendly, and never seemed rushed or impatient. The competitor down the street (Advance Auto) couldn't help me out, so they lost my business. I know where to go for my future needs. :) read more

Went to get a battery today. The first person didn't know why hey we're doing and we had to wait to get a second person to install the battery. Now new cars have computers that store setting information. Both the guy helping and manager said that they did not need to plug an auxiliary battery in to keep the settings. This is wrong. My go to place for car parts. The employees are always helpful and know their products. Just this last saturday I stopped in and when I was leaving after installing my new wiper blade I unknowingly dropped my wallet in the parking lot. A customer picked it up and brought it in to the store. I thank you if you were that honest and kind person. So when I called there today after searching my home for my wallet I was really happy to hear that they had it. The awesome employee even thanked me for my service in the military and was going to even drop it off to me to my address on my i.d. card. This whole experience has restored my faith in people. We went in and purchased brake pads and rented the necessary tools and the gentleman that helped us was very efficient and informative about the returns for our money back. Less then a week later, went back to the store later in the evening to make the returns and were informed they didn't have enough money to do it at that time. Now, this was the same man who sold us the items and we told him we paid with our credit card and he insisted it was debit and he couldn't help us. I just finished returning the same items at the Addison store where they returned our money...wait for it...on our credit card. This reeks of pure laziness and I am extremely disappointed that I had to waste my time going to another store for something that could have been done here in Glendale Heights. I've never had any issues prior to this but I'm now hesitant to go back if something this easy is passed over cause the employee doesn't "feel" like doing it. And if this is a training issue, please explain to your employees the difference on debit and credit. read more

Horrible customer service. I came in to get my battery diagnosed and they said it needed to be recharged or replaced. I opted to get it recharged. I had a hard time getting the battery out for them so I went in and asked for help. I asked this one worker, but he kept saying, "one moment, I'll be right with you." I was headed to Bartlett High School for a basketball game, made it to the parking lot and my car had broken down. The main belt had broken. My husband picked up a new belt on his way to the school and put the belt on... only to find that the idler pulley had locked up. It was minutes before 9:00 p.m. We called the Auto Zone in Carol Stream on Army Trail only to hear "we're closed". In desperation we called the Glendale Heights location and Mike answered the phone. Bless his heart!! I told him my dilemma; he confirmed he had the part I needed, rang me up while on the phone with my credit card and waited until we got to the store and could pick up the part. That is the true sign of EXCELLENT customer service! In this day and age, great customer service is hard to come by...
