On September 13th, 2025, my car wouldn't start, I called AAA and for the next 3 hours waited in the scorching heat for the "AAA guy" to come and look at "why" my car wouldn't start. After about three hours, he eventually arrived. He was really sweet, compassionate and kind, and he tested my battery, startup time, and alternator. He showed me very clearly that it was the alternator and recommended that I go to AutoZone to get a new one. He explained that they sold parts, but I would have to find a mechanic to put the alternator in as they didn't provide these services. The "AAA guy" jump started my car but strongly advised that I should go immediately to AutoZone to get my car repaired. Off I went and what happened next can only be described as one of the most extraordinary experiences I've ever had. I arrived at AutoZone, on Guide Meridian in Bellingham, WA. It is a beautiful store, spacious, spotlessly clean and every spare part, mechanical and non-mechanical parts attractively displayed. What stands out even more than the lovely showroom, are the staff. I was warmly welcomed, and it was already almost 6.00 pm on a Saturday evening. I couldn't believe how kind, caring and genuinely helpful they all were when it was almost time to close the store. I would subsequently find out that their hours are long. AutoZone is open Monday to Saturday from 7.30 am until 9.00 pm each night and on Sunday from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm. I walked straight up to a lady, who looked as if she was in charge. She was. Her name is April, remember that - you're going to need to know her name. This is the best Auto Parts store I've ever been to. I explained my dilemma to April, she listed and I told her that the "AAA guy" had told me that I'd only be able to buy the alternator at their store, BUT would then need a mechanic to take my old alternator out and put the new one in. She nodded her head and concurred that they only sell parts. I confessed to April that I was broke and only had enough money for the alternator. She told me that she had an idea and it would take a few minutes to call a friend of hers, to see if he had any ideas. I gave her some space and privacy to make that call. She came back smiling and said kindly; "I have some good news for you. My friend, Kyle is coming from Burlington (that's quite a drive!) to Bellingham, in about an hour's time, and he'd like to look at your car and see if he can help you". I was in total disbelief; I'd never come across such incredible Customer Service like this before. Kyle did arrive shortly, and he and April together worked on my car, until it was fixed. They also didn't have the exact alternator as I had originally bought my car in Canada. So, April called O' Reilley Auto Parts and fortunately they had the exact part that was needed. No problem for April, she drove me up to O' Reilley's store and I paid them for the alternator. If you're still reading this review, you have to agree with me, this is truly going above and beyond any Customer Service that you've ever heard of, and for me personally, an incredibly high bar in comparison to what I was used to from other service providers. BUT April and Kyle were still not finished with my car and the two of them worked diligently for at least two more hours, until the car ran perfectly and they felt I was safe to drive home. I wish I could give these two wonderful people 10 stars instead of 5. They both gave unstintingly from their hearts, not because they had to, but because they wanted to, AND for that, I'll be forever grateful. In addition, I also saw how well their staff in the store were trained. Nathalie and Juan looked out for the other Customers while April and Kyle were taking care of me. Juan is April's second in command, while Nathalie made sure that every person who came in with a dog, was sure that that dog got a special treat. They truly are like a family. BUT mostly what I experienced that night was what the Gold Standard for Customer Service really looks and feels like. I'm not going anywhere else from now on for any auto parts. I've told my family and friends and now I'm happy to tell strangers. If you ever need Auto Parts go to AutoZone on Meridian in Bellingham, WA. You won't regret it! read more

I needed a new headlight so headed to the Auto Zone store on Meridian. The staff was welcoming to both my small dog and me, fetched the headlight for me and made the whole shopping experience very easy. The store manager went the extra mile and installed the headlight for me, saving me time and frustration. I will be back when I need more auto parts. You should try them! read more

Needed a battery replacement. Nick's service at Autozone was outstanding. She made sure the warranty on the prior battery had expired (it had and she looked it up quickly even though it was purchased in Ft. Collins, CO.) Although Autozone makes no commitment to install the new one, she did so expertly and refused an offer of payment. This was a very pleasant fix. read more

Came here for a car part. Service was ok. Nothing wow. Walked in and there was no wait which was awesome. Spoke to the sales person. He looked up the part that we were looking for in his system quickly. Provided the info I wanted. Unfortunately, the part we were looking for was an unwearable part and should have been sent back. The sales person didn't know what to do with the part. Guess he wasn't train on that. We ended up leaving. Didn't help but its not really his fault for seeing this first time. read more

The staff here are always great! Helpful, good advice, talk me through repair options and have empowered my son to take on some small car fixes on his own. But today Timothy went above and beyond today! My back turn signal was out and Tim brought out some tools to help me with this in the parking lot. it turned out to be a more complicated repair, but he continued to help and He talked me through and showed me how I could fix the problem at home (when I had additional tools). Got home, disassembled the light, implemented his fix, and viola-- it works. Timothy-thank you! It took extra time for him to try to fix and then problem solve with me in the parking lot. My opinion of this business has changed. Since my first headlight problem and replacement, I've had to come back and had unpleasant experiences. It seems like the younger employees have less knowledge and are extremely unpleasant. My request for assistance in locating appropriate replacement bulbs, yet again, was met with eye rolling and attitude. The young men employed here seem to be put out by having to do their job. My questions might seem stupid, but you don't have to treat me like I am stupid. I'm coming to an auto store to receive assistance with buying auto parts. Based on first experience, 4 stars. My right passenger headlight went out on my car recently and I was considering which place to go to as the last time this happened (in another vehicle) I was sold the wrong bulb at another parts store. I didn't realize they'd sold me the wrong bulb so replaced the fuse, and when that didn't work I took it to the shop thinking I had an expensive electrical fix on my hands. I felt pretty dumb and glad when it turned out to just be the bulb. I know it was likely just a mistake at the other store, but not going back there for bulbs again. I opted for Autozone and wow, they were so helpful. The guy working showed me several bulb options and went though the pros and cons of each, then installed them! Needless to say I'm happy with my experience there and will return. read more

My driver's side headlight went out, so I stopped here as the sun was going down to get a replacement. The store clerk Ryan Minkel greeted me as I entered the store and offered me assistance in finding the right part for my car. Since the store wasn't busy, he even offered to assist me in swapping out the bulbs. Turns out that joke about how many people it takes to change a light bulb has some merit. Ryan, my friend Steve, and I spent at least 30 minutes trying to figure out how to open and close the spring mechanism on my car that holds the bulb in place. Ryan didn't give up though. He completed the job and didn't expect any compensation for his efforts. I drove away with two new working low beams just as it was getting dark. I'll definitely return here for future auto part needs. read more

Really like these compact auto stores, gets to the point. Not like those department stores. They've got great car phone accessories, like the ones with LED lights. Have the usual oil, filters, washers, etc. Came here for those taxi-style beaded chair pads. Gosh, this makes a big difference. More breathable so the back of your shirts and pants aren't sweaty, even with the air con on, some humid days, it's not enough lol. Highly recommended for those on the road a lot, doing lots of driving and eating. read more

My battery was dead when I pulled in. I asked for a free reading for my battery and alternator to make know which one I was having issues with. My friend amd I had to show the employee of autozone how to take off my battery case and where to connect for the volt meter. An employee should know how to work a volt meter. read more

I tried AutoZone again was looking for compression fittings got 2 from AutoZone in fairhaven and bought 2 more from Mount pleasant AutoZone but paid in fairhaven AutoZone went to AutoZone on Mount pleasant they refused to give me the compression fittings and told me to go back to fairhaven. Went back to fairhaven AutoZone then it was a big mess never again they should have refunded my money and gave me extra for doing there running very unsatisfied will not go back will use Napa at least I can get the parts I need. read more

My battery went dead in my Scion XA 2005 model, I had to have my car jumped to get home, it had never been replaced. It was a Sunday night 5:30, I called them, they had the battery and they would install it. Wow, what a relief.
