For anyone interested, please know that Advance Auto Parts will indeed place your whipper blades after purchase of the actual blade. But the phenominal customer service was not expected, and I appreciate it! If I have any other reason to need to come to get my car looked at for something quick, this was a good place to start.

Unsure of when it was purchased i brought the battery in. I was told by the sales rep they battery was out of warranty due to build date. I informed him its actually from purchase date. he reluctantly agreed, so we looked up the purchase date. (may 2024) we still had 2 months to go on warranty. he then tells me he needs to charge and test it. and it will be 30 minutes. we said that's fine well be back in 30 minutes... We come back and are told by another representative that it needs to slow charge for 24 HOURS... what could we do? so we agreed... i called customer service diehard warranty side and spoke to deborah. I asked if 24 hour charge is standard to warranty a battery. she said she couldn't tell me and needed to speak to the store putting me on a brief hold. she returned to call and told me "he said he didn't say that...he said it would be 9 hours and come back 9 hours from drop off" i told her that would be midnight that night.. so essentially it will be charging close to 24 hours... she gave me a $10 store coupon and apologized for the confusion and inconvenience. I arrived the next day at 9:04 to a different staff.. and was told my battery was out of warranty because 2 years had passed since build date. I corrected this new rep who didn't argue.. just agreed and looked up purchase date. then told me he had to test it.. to my surprise it passed... or so i was told... he sets down the tester on the table where it says in bold yellow charge and retest... i asked him again...it says passed/good..He responded "yup"... so i asked him what the cold cranking amps were.. he responded 123... i told him the rating is 550 that battery isn't good. the tester says charge and retest...His response... ill get your new battery. acknowledging he lied right to my face... i even gave him a second chance to correct himself.. it was early and maybe he wasn't all the way awake yet.. he doubled down. so at the end of all this i received my new battery.. with a catch.. the build date was 5/25...9 months old and i said this to the rep handling the warranty...no response... i take it home and put it in my wife's mustang to find it wont start... the new batteries voltage... (11.3v) not enough to start a car. healthy voltage is 12.7.. so here i am with a battery under new warranty i had to charge myself...i called corporate sales hotline Monday to be told there is nothing they can do except a full refund of the battery. leaving me back a square one.. or put in a ticket with the store manager... who may have been one of the people on the floor either day i was there... no one there had on a name tag and was in street clothes...

Goss Garage II - Tune- up service

My wife and I have taken both of our cars to Goss in Crofton for years. Thousands spent. Always…read moretrusted them. But after our last experience, we'll never be back. Goss quoted me $993 to replace what they claimed was a bad headlight assembly. They listed the part alone at $619. Before approving anything, I asked two very standard, very basic questions: 1. "What is the part number for this $619 headlight assembly?" Melissa told me, "Unfortunately we don't get that until the part arrives." This makes no sense. A shop cannot order a part without knowing the part number first. Big red flag. 2. "How much is the markup on that part?" Melissa said, "Unfortunately I don't have access to that information." Again -- impossible. Every shop sees cost vs retail in their system. It's how parts are priced. Another big red flag. Both responses were evasive and dishonest, and no reputable shop would answer those two questions that way. I took the car to another mechanic (Ron at the Mobil station on 301) for a second opinion. He found the REAL issue was simply a melted connector--extremely common with older cars. He replaced the connector and bulb for $113 and everything works fine now. I saw the owner of Goss respond to another negative review by comparing Goss to a steakhouse and talking about their "warranty." Warranties and steaks have nothing to do with overpricing and refusing to disclose basic information like part numbers and markup -- information every legitimate auto shop can provide instantly. I'm fine with paying steakhouse prices if that's what I ordered, but not if the restaurant can't even tell me what cut of meat they're serving! Bottom line: --Goss tried to sell me a $993 repair that wasn't necessary --Goss refused to disclose part number or markup when directly asked --Another shop fixed the real issue for $113 The upselling is off-putting, but the lack of transparency around parts is inexcusable. We will not be returning, and I'd strongly recommend getting a second opinion before approving any work here.

Staff were very professional, personable and respectful. And I received a thank you card in the mail. Very nice personal touches that go along way with earning my business. Mr. Lee S. Thank you for responding to my Yelp review re…read moreFirestone, Odenton. I had a dreadful experience with David Barbarito, found out his last name on a bill, who treated me in a condensing, disrespectful manner not to mention misrepresenting himself with a false charge$357. On 2/2/26 I went into Firestone located at 1492 Annapolis Rd., Odenton Md. 21113 with a problem with my EVAC system. On that date I was charged $2012.00. I waited SIX hours while they completed the job. The area manager that day was Mr. Lerman, who informed me that the EVAC problem was fixed and "you are good to go." He was professional and courteous. I thanked him and left. On Monday 2/23/26 the evac check engine light came on AGAIN and I went back to Firestone on that day, spoke with Dave Barbarito, who introduced himself as a "visiting manager" as Ms. Roche, Manager was on vacation for the week and would return on Monday 3/2/26. Please note that Dave would not give me an agent ID or ANYTHING to identify himself. It was at this point that I noticed his condescending, misogynistic attitude. When I came back "Sam" told me that "only" the tech that originally attempted to fix it would repair my EVAC, there was no one else to do so. I was concerned because he did not repair my 1014 Jeep Cherokee initially and was assigned to "fix repair" again. When asked for his name, that originally did the job incorrectly, Sam would not provide me with his name. This was the first time I contacted Corp and was given a case #2954674. Later that day, I called again spoke to Mr. Lerman who stated that Mr. Tek (sp?) who was the original mechanic's supervisor and he would "fix the error" and to come in on Monday 2/23/26 @ 9:00 AM. My appointment on 2/23/26 at 9:00 AM for "Mr. Tek" to handle the repair. On 2/23/26, Mr "Tek" was 1 1/2 hours late for work and Dave refused to contact him and see what the problem was and I was told to "sit there and wait for him or leave" would not give me an ETA . I waited for 1 1/2 hours for Tek to arrive and I told Dave that I'd like to speak to him, when he did come on and was told by Dave, that "that won't happen, but feel free to sit and wait "endlessly". Was irritated that Sam gave me a false statement stating only the one/original mechanic could fix it. I was also told 3x that Mr. Dwight, Regional mgt would contact me and HAS NOT EVEN ATTEMPTED TO DO SO. When I came in on 2/23/25, Dave was irritated that I had found out about Mr. Tek and it was obvious the way he treated me. On 3/23/26 I waited FIVE hours and at the end of the day was told that there was NO PROBLEM with the EVAC (even though the code came up again) however Dave did diagnostics, and "discovered that" my catalytic convertor, left side was bad AND the right side "looked like it was headed the same way and "needed replacement" handing me a bill for $4300. I was taken aback by this and Dave immediately lowered the price to $4000, stating "I am your friend and will take care of this for you." PLEASE note that during the FIVE hours that I waited the EVAC system error WAS NEVER LOOKED, nor fixed and was told that system was fine. I left and immediately went to my private mechanic, Manny and Son's who ordered/installed a "PURGE VALVE" for $161, see attachment. When I came back to Firestone on Wednesday 3/25/25 Dave told me, once again in a condescending, misogynistic voice that "I told you Monday 3/23/26 that you needed a purge valve and had to order it "free of charge and stall it." FALSE STATMENT, Dave NEVER mentioned a Purge Valve and that he needed to order and install for no charge. I was amazed and said to him, "why would I go to my mechanic and pay for a purge valve and pay to have it installed if you had told me that?" He had no answer. Have sent all information to socialcare@bfrc.com Terri Letwinsky 1018 Summer Hill Dr Odenton Md. 21113 terrigray1957@verizon.net 410-245-2938 purge valve .jpg
