I needed a new radio for my wife's old Mercedes and have used Autosound before, so this is the only place I shopped. After I picked out the unit we wanted, I was told it would take at least a couple of hours to install, since there was a remote CD player in the trunk and they had to disconnect everything, so I signed the contract with the two hours. I met my wife there, dropped off the car, and grabbed a quick lunch next door. We returned to get an idea of how longer it would take since we were going to the mall. We then found it was finished, in barely 35 minutes. The bad part is that I was still charged with two hours of installation, with no thought of a credit. I would of appreciated it if they had recognized this and only charged for one hour. read more

Recently I had my SUV detailed. Afterward, my nice car audio system started cracking & popping. I have a nice Rockford Fosgate system. I took my car to the dealer and they said the issue was an AMP under the passenger seat; however, they could no longer get this part. So I started researching vendors in Lexington that could provide a quality aftermarket system. My first quote was from Autosound. It looked kinda expensive, so I decided to talk to other vendors to see what they could offer. I ended back up at Autosound. They were the most professional and nice folks to work with on getting my system replaced. I worked with JP and he was great with outstanding communications and always promptly returned my calls and emails. I ended up with a Pioneer system that looks and sounds GREAT. Autosound did an excellent job installing my system. They had everything set up on the system when I arrived. All the technical parameter were all set for me. My system was installed in less than a day (took about 5 hrs to do my project). All the parts were in stock, so once I decided to go with them, I didn't have to wait for parts and pieces to be shipped in. Overall, an outstanding experience working with these folks! read more

i had a remote start put in before christmas. i am taking it back in for the 3rd time to be fixed in just over a month. they don't care about my time or the fact that i already paid them close to $500 in the first place. they get your money and wast your time. if you are thinking of using them you should just throw your money away and not deal with the headache. update.......... if i could rate them lower after this review i would. i took my truck back in. they replaced the whole system and it still wont work. this means they are terrible that cant do quality work and sell junk products. i will be pursuing legal action if they do not remove and fully refund. do not go here!!!! do not go here!!!!!! do not go here!!!!! do not go here!!!!! do not go here!!!! read more

However, when I called them to try to set up an appointment for speaker installation, the kind gentlemen on the other end of the line informed me they only do installations on items purchased in "their" store. Tried to communicate with this shop via email as I am currently outside of the country. Been going here for years, referred several friends. Response time was slow, ended up ignoring my requests to see what models they had for remote starts. I wanted to send my elderly mother in with my car so she could start it from the house during the winter. All I wanted to do was make it as easy as possible for my mother and look at the models online. Spoke to a JP? Called himself a manager. Said to me that 'they're a small shop and don't have anyone who monitors online requests', asked me what I wanted since I was on the phone, which was a reply to my email; I'm on a timezone difference and working - I don't want someone to give me model numbers (ex. xyz123xyz) over the phone, its difficult and not everyone speaks the nato alphabet to ensure mistakes aren't made. This is 2021, a business should easily be able to respond to an email. He huffed and puffed on the phone, seemed like I was bothering him and could have cared less. This is not the Autosound I grew up around in Lexington, and for someone wanting to spend upwards of a thousand dollars I was asked to go to one of their competitors instead and hung up on. Wrote another email to ask the owners contact info, as a business owner if I heard something like this from one of my employees I would be livid - not to mention during the Covid times who can afford to lose business? They have lost a customer in me, and I would never refer anyone here. In addition to this, while me and my mother was eating a Five Guys next door I walked over and noticed used needles in the parking lot. Spoke to an employee there and said there was a homeless camp in the back and they like to dispose of their used heroin needles in the parking lot like that - while this might not be their fault, its something to consider when visiting here but hopefully they have cleaned it up since then. In my honest opinion please take your business somewhere else in town, if this is what their customer service is like, I would not want to see how they work on your car because if JP the manager there is having a bad day, so might your car. read more

Had my truck in to get completed upgraded to the BEST they have making it similar to 2016 technology . After spending $6800 went through it with a fine tooth comb . Found the speakers they supposedly replaced only had a new face plate cover put over my factory Bose speakers that existed . Also found that they did not rewire it all throughout they couldn't have and miss the twenty rats and nests that existed from previous owner where it sat on the farm . So basically I paid for two amps and shitty fake everything else . Upon walking in and asking they quickly said we can't do that .... Of course not the money wasn't dangling in front of them and they already were paid in CASH!!!!! Shame on you for running such a crooked company ... And we have known the owner for 28 years ... Great place. They actually sold me the wrong size speakers initially. The secind set i had to buy were actually more expensive but they didn't charge me a dime for the difference. The guys here installed my speakers quickly and the price was very fair. I definitely plan to go back if i have any other car stereo needs. read more
