I originally gave a 5 star. Even tho I sat in office awaiting paperwork for nearly 3 hours. Now I have not received my paperwork to go to BMV for plates nor the key fob I was promised. We went signed for our vehicle put our down payment and traded our other vehicle in and then they claim they need to install something in it and now is refusing to give us our vehicle we already signed for and put money down for... sales rep Quinn dosent know his head from his behind and now getting the run around from everybody there and they wont answer our calls! I went to AutoSmart in Defiance,Ohio on March 17,2023 to purchase a car. I was debating trading my car in (it had been driving a little rough) so the dealership took it for a test drive and said it was probably just the 02 sensor causing to to be sluggish, which that's what I originally thought it was. After having my car in their shop for awhile the dealer comes back in and says bad news it's your transmission. I am not a professional their mechanic is so took their word for it being hesitant I decided to trade my vehicle in for $1000. Went in next day they were open and seen my trade in out on their lot for sale already. I said I thought it had a bad tranny and the dealer says, "oh funny thing, it ended up not being the tranny!" So not only did I get lied to about what my car was worth because of the transmission being bad but then I'm looking on my paperwork and realized they didn't even give me the thousand dollars for my trade-in they gave me 500! At first dealer tried telling me it just says $500 but took $500 of price of car?! No, they didn't! They did say they would make it right and personally drive a $500 check to my house that day! So after calling them and messaging them for over 2 wks and then telling me it's in the mail. So today 4-4-23 I had to drive 45 min one way to their office in Hamler to pick up the check that they told me has been in the mail this entire time! Really great until you purchase their car and then they don't give a crap about their customers. Given the run around and lied to! Stay away from any autosmart but esp Quinn from the defiance location. read more

I would NOT recommend that any one purchase a vehicle from this dealership. My first red flag was that they ran our credit the night before our test drive. Who does that? We weren't even sure we were going to purchase it. Instantly our credit score took a hit from the multiple companies that pulled it. We sat down with the contract believing that the warranty was included in the price, it wasn't, it was additional. We left that day with the understanding that they would be ordering us TWO key fobs because there was only one available, and that one had blade broken off and the trunk button didn't work. This information was handwritten into our agreement/paperwork. We purchased this vehicle in in mid January and after many, many, many phone calls and even more texts we finally got the Manager to agree to provide the key fobs and to program them. And yet... we still only received one of the two that was agreed upon JUST THIS WEEK - yes 5 months later. Side note: There was a sizeable chip in our windshield that they didn't even seem to know about and wouldn't repair. The whole experience was SUCH a freaking hassle. I wish I would have canceled the test drive once they pulled the credit - such B.S. And yes - so many issues popped up with this vehicle that weren't evident during the test drive, and while I realize that can "happen", it was a bit suspicious. Two stars given instead of 1 because I am just grateful that the vehicle runs. This entire interaction is ridiculous and could have been easily avoided by them sticking by their word, and the paperwork. Sketch. read more
