Met Kevin in the morning before work. The guy knows his doors and it helped that they installed the original doors back in 1994 based on the sticker on the motor. Kevin even was able to match the previous owner with the house. Frankly, I'm pretty picky when it comes to someone coming to my house to do work(who isn't?). I'll typically shop around and price match. In this case I didn't because I felt so comfortable with Kevin's knowledge/experience. He installed the doors that same day and I came home to new doors. Based on the little research I did on buying/installing on my own, I'd say we got a good deal. Also, it appeared Kevin through in some extras based on the price and the end result. As for the work, I was more than happy with the choices he gave me and the quality job they did. We replaced the doors, sensors and some of the old springs. He also helped me re-code some of the old remotes hanging around. This company has been in business for 20+ years for a reason and I'm sure I'll be recommending him to anyone who needs garage doors. read more

Made a call and got an answering machine, left a message with phone number and address. They came out in less than 30 minutes and replaced the springs and cables. Absolutely wonderful price especially since I had made multiple calls for prices which were all much higher. If Kevin comes to do the work, he is very professional, reliable, friend ly and a fast and thorough worker. read more

Jim and Kevin did an excellent job of removing the old support structures and garage doors and installing a more substantial door system. The doors now open and close quietly and seamlessly. Very professional and done in a reasonable amount of time. read more

Fast, efficient , cost effective. Always a good experience with Quality Garage Door Company

My garage door stopped working last week and I wasn't sure who to call. I called this company and they were able to come the first free day I was available and at the time I was free. He explained everything to me in a way I could understand and replaced everything in an hour and my garage door is now fully functional, the price came to $284 to replace the components of the system (cable, wheels etc) not the electronic part or the door. I was pleased with the service. They also replaced the stripping on the bottom of my door. Both Kevin and (Matt or max) were great and I'd totally call them if I have an issue with my garage door again. read more

OMG... I called a bunch of different companies and one came, the guy could barely speak English and he told me he couldn't "fix" my door he could only install a new one for $2,000.00. I then called Automatic Door Company and got a call back pretty quickly. Scheduled the appointment and Matt Schreyer came out. He took one look at my door and within 10 seconds fixed it!! I know nothing about garage doors and it was just a pull down lever that had to be pushed back up in place. He then fixed the other door where the spring broke and all for a very very reasonable price. I will ALWAYS use this company going forward. They are honest, reliable, trustworthy, everything you want and more in a service. THANK YOU Matt - you were awesome and soooo nice. read more

This review is long overdue. They replaced our broken garage door a year and a half ago. They were so friendly and courteous and they did a fabulous job. So even though this review is late, at least I can attest to the fact that I am still very satisfied with their work. Plus the father-son duo is so endearing. read more

I chose to have new doors installed by Automatic door after two friends who work in home repair enthusiastically recommended them to me. From the sales call to the installation the service was stellar. Their price was fair and competitive, their workmanship excellent and they even installed new sensors because an opossum had chewed my wires...at no additional cost o me! Fast, friendly, affordable and reliable. What else could you ask for? read more

Outstanding customer service! Can't say enough about how impressed I am to find a business willing to walk me through a DIY fix to my garage door issue. This was not a situation where he was going to be able to bill me for my time but Kevin was kind enough to take 3-4 calls from me as I/we diagnosed the issue and found a solution. If a repair/replacement is needed in the future this will be my first call. Highly recommended!! read more

I gotta tell ya, I had a very positive experience dealing with this company. I called and left messages for two other garage door repair companies in the area. Those companies never returned my call. Decided to check Yelp and read some reviews. Called Automatic Door Company Monday afternoon and told them I need a torsion spring replacement. They gave me an approximate cost for the job and an appointment was made for the following day, Tuesday. The technician, who's name I forgot, called and confirmed the time. He arrived as scheduled and completed the job very fast. The tech took the time to lube the garage door, which was appreciated. The garage door is fully functional now and the price for the job was lower than what I was expecting. I would not hesitate to recommend this company in the future. Enjoy Yourself! read more

My garage door had an improper, cheap and rushed installation - and after two years went down on Saturday evening. I emailed Kevin Sat night, and he responded. By Sunday morning we chatted through the issue and I sent him pics of the trouble spot. By Monday @ 3pm his team was flawlessly completing the repair, for an extremely reasonable cost considering the issue. Top notch, excellent service and part of our rolodex of help going forward! read more

My garage door was stuck in close position due to cable snapped off from the drum. Left a message and Kevin replied back in 13 min. He came at noon the same day and got the garage door fixed in 2 hours. He tried to keep the existing parts and to fix it but it didn't work. So he replaced drum and cable with new ones. Now the door works smoothly. I am happy with the service which is handled professionally. The cost is competitive. They are my go-to-garage-specialist from now on. read more

Made an appointment with the owner. Said he was busy but can fit me in. Waited all day and finally I called him and his response was "Sorry dude, I cant get there for a couple of weeks". I'm sure his work is good but this was unacceptable. Called another company and came out next day. read more

Great experience with this company from start to finish. They responded promptly after receiving my message. Matt called to let me know time he would arrive. He resolved the problems I was having with the door opener, programmed my car and installed a new keypad. I am very happy and would use them again. read more

I wasn't sure who to call when my garage cables broke. I found this company through Yelp and the reviews were spot on! I called in the morning and they came out that same afternoon, at the time they said they would. Very courteous and professional. Mark came out and fixed my door. He went above and beyond by checking my other door to make sure everything looked okay. There was no over-selling of services or parts and Mark was very personable. I would definitely call this company again. read more

Our new garage doors are wonderful, as is our Lift-Master door opener. All this is due to one of the owners, Kevin. He came out to do an estimate--showed us all the options, and then put together a custom look especially for our home. The doors were delivered in perfect condition and the team that installed could not have been better. I'm happy every time I pull into the garage. Great job! read more

These guys came and fixed a broken tension spring on my garage door. They answered the phone promptly when I called, were relatively flexible in working with my schedule, and showed up at the scheduled time to do the work. The two fellas who came to fix the door were professional and got the worked done quickly, cleanly and effectively. In addition to fixing my broken spring, they inspected the other components and oiled everything up nicely. They also helped me fix a problem with my keypad, no charge. Lastly, their price was quite reasonable. I'm happy, and I'll call them again if my garage door needs work in the future. Five stars. read more

After seeing all of the glowing reviews here on Yelp, I contacted them for a repair. I left a message to schedule this, and within a half hour Kevin called me back to let me know he can have someone out within 2-3 hours! Kyle arrived on time, and called ahead to let me know he was on his way. Kyle was very personable and professional, and made quick work of the repair. Kyle explained everything he did to fix my issue, and did not push any unnecessary repairs on my very old garage door. He was great about explaining what might need future work as well, but were not required at this time. I value professionalism and sincerity from the folks I have come into my home, and never want to feel I've been upsold something I don't need. I'd recommend this company without hesitation, and you'll be lucky if Kyle does the work. Thank you! read more

Zero star if i can select that. When Kevin, the company owner called and learned that i decided to go with another company to fix my garage door, he said "you are an idiot" and hung up!!! Are you serious Kevin? Is this how you conduct your business?!?! Never trust this guy. Be aware. read more

I can't recommend this company enough. Professional, a pleasure to work with, great service, great end result (two new doors). The work was done on time, as promised, at the agreed upon price. Rewinding back one year to 2014, Kevin from Automatic Door Company came by to assess and fix the spring on both arms with independent pullies for $180. Fast forward to present day, April 2015, our string broke in less than a year...strange. In this essence, we come to find out that only one string was replaced while the other remained original to the door. The two gentlemen that showed up, Mark and Jim were pleasant and were messengers to Kevin whom now indicated to charge me an additional $135 dollars for labor and parts which I declined. I further indicated that I did not expect to see this company so soon as it has been less than a year and new parts were installed, however, why would the owner in his expertise only replace one string and allow the other to deteriorate that caused additional damage to the spring. I did not fathom that less than a year I am now subjected to pay $315 for poor workmanship and ill-decisions by the company, let alone the owner. I manage 65 people and take full responsibility for all decisions I make and defend my team to the utmost extreme with respect to patient care. Business ethics is vital to our core as well as customer service to the clients that we provide results and guarantee them. Automatic Door Company does not honor best practice and their gamut for Business Ethics run on a completely dynamic driven by the owner who relays this message to his team. I hold reservation in recommending this company for your garage services and will continue to redirect neighbors and my social media circle to refrain from employing businesses that do not stand behind their work and business morals. read more

I know as much about automatic garage doors as I do about opera. Nothing. So when I was staying at my mother's house and inadvertently broke the garage door, I called the first local guy who appeared on Google. Lucky for me, it was Kevin of Automatic Door. He was immediately responsive, helpful and knowledgable. Kevin promptly fixed the door and answered all my questions. My nearby uncle had a garage-door problem, too -- they apparently run in the family -- so Kevin went right over there and fixed his eyebeam. Or maybe it was an ibeam. Whatever it was, Kevin expeditiously turned our garage-door problems into non-problems. I wholeheartedly recommend his company. read more

Absolutely great! Quick callback. Great technicians. Arrived when they said they would. And nice people to work with.

Wow. These guys are great. I got two doors installed in a spot that was just framework on an 80 yr old garage being fixed up. I shopped around first. I talking to a few companies with guys doing the "hey little lady, that's gonna cost ya" bit. Worse than that, they were slow to return calls, and more expensive. It was very refreshing to talk to Kevin, the owner - he's polite, and completely understood that I was trying to be cost conscious given the old structure's limitations. No trying to oversell me, no trying to 'little lady' me. He took the time to answer all my questions, super prompt replies. He sent estimates via email, which I prefer, came to the house when I wasn't here the first time actually, checked out the situation, which was so helpful while I was at work. Then, just when I was going to set the install date, I lost my job. I pulled the plug. I told Kevin (owner) I'd have to wait, not sure how long. He was totally cool about it. There were no hassling me calls. (try that with Castle windows, geez those folks won't leave ya alone). When I was ready a few month's later, Kevin's crew was here installing just a few days after I said 'go'. Two guys, Mark and Chris I think, just the nicest guys. I've had my house by myself for 18 years, and through all of my fixer upper moments, and there have been a lot, I rarely encounter this kind of great customer service. Prices competitive, and seem great to me, and I really appreciate no unnecessary over selling. Service was excellent, timing, reliable for call backs when I had questions. I wish everyone I've hired were this great! Sarah read more

Great response time and communication. The work was done perfectly. The garage was left very clean.

Strange thing about garage doors- I am a guy who is pretty darn handy around the house and fit or make most things work. However when it comes to automatic doors etc - I am in now way inclined to even think about them. So when one of our garage doors broke last night, I was very happy to call someone in to fix it. My experience in 5 years of living in Connecticut has taught me to set my expectations low when calling in contractors. But these guys are the surprise. Initial call was answered well, good polite manner, with a promise to call me back with a time and a schedule. How many times have you heard that and ended up calling again?. Well not these guys, true to their word a quick call back to tell me they can be at my house in around 45 minutes. Guess what? they were there right on time, quickly looked the job over and repaired my broken door, with all the parts on board their van - no coming back with parts in a few days etc. Just great workmanship. with a couple of extra modifications to both doors to prevent damage to the vehicles. Full service of the equipment and job complete. Reasonable charges along with a very customer focused team. Great job guys and please use this Company if you want anything doing to your garage doors. read more

In my first review in 2013, I said I'd call these guys again...and I did. With less than 24 hours to go before turning the house over to its new owners, my dad tried to "help" move stuff out and backed into the garage door. Kevin responded to my message right away, and my stress level came down immediately. His professionalism and follow up almost makes me wish I had more broken garage doors! If I could give 6 stars I would. read more

Mark and Jim did a fantastic job replacing my garage door opener. The old system was in bad shape and, although they gave me options to repair, I knew it was time to replace. Cables snapped and the spring broke on our garage door. Looked online to find a reputable company to fix the stated issues.. I called Automatic Door Co. and they came out within a few hours to fix it. They kept us up to date with when someone would be arriving and Kyle came and explained what was wrong/needed to be done. Kyle was professional and educated. He fixed our garage door in a time efficient manner and was very pleasant. Very affordable too. Kevin was great, responsive and extremely cordial. His technician, Matt, was terrific too. We had just had had a company we had used before, out earlier to help with what we assumed was a small problem, a remote that wasn't functioning. They tried to convince us to replace the entire system on both our doors, which would have cost over $1,000. Instead, Matt fixed the door in a second (simply unplugging and replugging it). He also suggested minor needed repairs and safety cables. The whole bill was a fraction of the cost. High recommendations!!! read more

Kevin and his team could not be any better, easier and better priced. I came home on a Saturday night and as I was closing my garage, the chain snapped. What made it even more "enjoyable" is I was flying out on Sunday night and my wife isn't the most technical for me to ask her to handle it. I called and left a message on Sunday asking that they call me back on Monday as I didn't want to take their time on Sunday. Kevin called back 10 or so minutes later and could not be any more professional and understanding. I explained to him the situation and he took it from there. He was there first thing on Tuesday morning and I came home Wednesday night to a working garage. There is A+ service and then there is this company. They prove that going local versus a Sears or somewhere else can get you quick service at a great price. 5 stars is a true understatement! read more
