It was the same sound as when rocks are kicked up along a highway that bounce off the windshield. At the other end of the carwash a crack started forming near the bottom center of the windshield. After mentioning this to the owner, he took me inside to show how the carwash works. Based on that experience, it was not apparent how this could have happened, unless one of the flaps picked up a hard object. The owner's reasoning was that the crack was previously there but unseen due to the dirt on the windshield. Unfortunately I cannot prove that the carwash created the crack. So for now I'm stuck paying for a new windshield. But hey, I got a clean car!

Didn't see any difference in "tornado" blast. After a wash, car still dirty. I'll probably avoid in the future. Added: thank you for your response. If didn't drive around...my mistake. Not a big deal. I changed my rating to 3. I still believe water pressure is too low and not enough soap for $27 car wash. This is in comparison to other car washes in the area. For about $4, I can get the outside of my car relatively clean as I don't mind doing it myself. This car wash may be the best of it's type I've used in my 60+ years. For those who don't want to do it personally, there is one bay that has a fully automated car wash. I tried it once & it was also fine. It's not long enough in there to drive through, so the washing equipment goes around the parked car. There are a few different levels, which add-on different chemicals to the wash process. At the end, there is a 1-minute blow dryer. There are I think 4 self-serve bays + the single automatic bay. There is also an indoor tub to bathe a pet. The self-serve units do accept credit cards, but I found that to be clunky/confusing. The equipment also accepts paper bills, so minimal coinage is needed & there is a coin changer on-site.

Customer service is a huge thing to me and these guys and gals all go above and beyond. As I continue to get responses (over 200 of them now) from various groups I'm getting to see how unprofessional they really are to their customers. Please keep the comments coming so as many people as possible are aware. I am writing about a serious safety issue caused by Jim Shorkey Kia service center that they are refusing to take responsibility for. I want to share this frustrating situation in hopes of getting some accountability. I took my vehicle to Jim Shorkey Kia for service, and when I got it back there were several issues that were not present before: a misaligned wheel, air bubbles in the coolant system, and the airbag warning light on. Jim Shorkey Kia corrected the wheel alignment and addressed the coolant issue. However, they are refusing to take responsibility for the airbag sensor, even though the warning light appeared only after the service. Airbags are critical safety features, and a warning light means the system may not function properly in the event of an accident. My wife is currently driving this vehicle with our children, knowing the airbag system may not deploy properly if something were to happen, and the dealership service center that broke it is now asking for $3,400 to fix it. That is beyond frustrating. Customers trust dealerships to service vehicles safely and when it involves a safety system like airbags, accountability should not be optional. Before taking our vehicle to the dealership, we had a reputable independent service center run a full diagnostic. They have since confirmed the airbag light was not on and stated they would testify to that if necessary. From there, the vehicle went directly to the Kia dealership. I have extensive documentation showing the issue originated at the dealership, and I never expected a dealership to deflect responsibility over such a critical safety matter. Because this is a serious safety concern, I currently have a case filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General and will also be filing complaints with and the Better Business Bureau. Unfortunately, the service center at Jim Shorkey Kia on Route 30 in North Huntingdon has shown that they cannot be trusted to prioritize customer safety, and instead appear willing to save a buck over the safety of my family. Please be cautious if you are considering dealing with them.
