My wife's 2024 Kia Telluride was rear-ended in Aug 2025 by a USAA-insured driver. After USAA paid…read more$10,000 for repairs, we filed a Diminished Value Claim with USAA. We hired St. Lucie's to provide an accurate and detailed appraisal to support this DVC. USAA initially made a low-ball offer of $1,300. The appraisal from St. Lucie came in at around $6,000 for DV. Unfortunately for us, USAA refused to budge on their original low-ball offer. After USAA refused to negotiate or communicate over several months, armed with St Lucie's appraisal, I filed in small claims court. We didn't want to go this route, but USAA put us in this position. Six weeks after filing, USAA's attorney came back with a reasonable offer of $4,500, which we accepted. We would never have had a chance to receive these additional funds without the backing of this appraisal from St. Lucie. Thank you again, Franklin. I will tell you that Franklin cares deeply and will walk with you on this journey. Franklin answers every phone call and is extremely helpful. My insurance agent said 95% of people filing diminished value claims "roll over" and settle for lowball offers because they don't know how to handle big insurance companies. I rejected that initial offer and did a little research to see what the vehicle was actually worth. Armed with that information I invoked my Appraisal Clause and contacted St. Lucie Appraisal Company to see if they would represent me. Almost immediately, Franklin Colletta informed me that my vehicle was most likely worth much more than what was being offered but wanted to do some research first: he said it would take approximately one week for the detailed appraisal to come back. When it was all said and done, I ended up with almost $22,000 For my vehicle. if you believe that your vehicle is worth more than what your insurance company is offering you for a total loss, I highly recommend that you contact St. Lucie Appraisal Company before agreeing to anything. I am more than happy with the service that I received and would definitely contact them again if needed.
