BUYER BEWARE!!! First, my husband took his 2010 Fusion (which he bought from the dealership a few months ago) in for an alignment. The shop did the job, no issues, better alignment and steering when he picked up the car. We dropped off my 2006 Malibu yesterday for an alignment because we had replaced a number of suspension parts and wanted to be sure nothing was moved out of place in the process. This morning, my husband got a call telling him that "We can't do an alignment because you need new lower control arms." Maybe they thought due to the number of miles on the vehicle, we would just take their word for it and pay them to replace the parts. However, since my husband (automotive engineer) replaced these parts himself less than a year ago, we KNOW we don't need these parts. You are taking your chances when you use this shop. You might have a fine experience with no problems, or you might have someone try to sell you parts you don't need in order to boost the profit margin of the shop. If you do have this shop do any work, be sure to ask for the old parts from your vehicle back. If they can't deliver them to you, you can be sure they didn't do the work you were promised. You should actually do this for any shop you do business with, just to keep everyone honest. read more

Well first of all I had been coming here for years. This time I was getting a repair done that was being warranted since it was replaced and very little miles later it was going bad again. Even though it was warranted the cost was higher then before due to them replacing another part they said was causing the warranted part to fail. It seemed strange to me that the cost was so high so I looked up the part. Then I found they were definitely over charging. After I paid I check under my car and found they actually used a used part from the junkyard on my vehicle. They never said they would be using a used part. Their explanation was that by getting a used part they didn't have to wait to get the part from the dealer which could have been a couple days. Basically they used a used part on my vehicle and over charged me to compensate for having to warranty the original part. I was scammed. If you take your vehicle here you better know what they are doing and checking their work. read more

I will never take my car to the dealership again. The "check fuel" light kept going off on my car and the service department at VW just replaced the fuel cap. $100 for parts and labor and the light was still going off and making the "check engine" light go off too. Took it to Hass at Auto Tech Clinic. They looked at my car right away, told me what the problem was but never tried to sell me anything. They also replaced my brake light bulb that was going in and out. I was there maybe a half hour and Hass charged me nothing to check out my car and replace my bulb. I use Auto Tech for all of my repair needs. I have a 2000 Neon that's still up and running, that they've help to keep alive. I also have a newer car that I bought and I'll continue to trust them with. I've had few issues that they weren't happy to rectify. I feel comfortable continuing my service with them and recommending all of my family and friends. You definitely PAY for quality, however, I prefer to have confidence than to be unsure. read more

Had a friend suggest this place for some repairs I needed once. I needed to get my tires rotated, as well as get a couple new exhaust hangers replaced. I didn't make a an appointment, and they still got me in on a Saturday (even with how busy they were). Very unpleased with this place. I've taken my car here before and the SERVICE from the mechanics is great but for the second time the customer service at the front desk isn't. I was inconvenienced today when I called to set an appointment for an oil change and told by the receptionist I didn't need one and to just get ther by 1:30 pm. Arrived 30 mins later at 12pm and was told they weren't taking anymore customers today and to go next door to the other oil change place. I felt it was rude and dismissive seeing as that I had already paid for services at Auto tech (via Groupon) and drove 30 mins just to get there. Never will I go here again. read more

This is a great place to get your car taken care of. I have recommended this place to everyone I know and I've heard nothing but good things from everyone who went here. I found out about this place back in September. I'm a teacher and early in the morning my car ran out of gas near this place. A police officer was pushing my car out of the way when the owner noticed and ran to the street to help. Him and a few guys helped push my car to their clinic. They told the officer they will help me and they did! They went to the gas station and bought gas to fill my tank. Then as if running out of gas wasn't bad enough, my battery died. They charged the battery and sent me on my way. I offered to pay but they refused! They insisted I not pay them anything. Great people who are honest and respectful. People I know agree. read more

Incredibly happy with this shop. There are so many crooked shops in SE Michigan its sickening. These guys are excellent, i had a heat problem in the dead of winter. They took the car in and did a full diagnostic, which went towards the repair, and it ended up being a plugged up radiator. They flushed it out, but the problem came back only days later. I took the car back and they STOOD MY THEIR WORK, they went and flushed it out again, front and rear systems, at no extra charge. Basically, these guys are totally honest and upfront with you. Too many shops around are just trying to scam us, be wise, go here. read more

Took car in for $900 worth of repairs. (Ball joints and control arms) In the process of repairs they damaged my air suspension strut. Of course they denied responsibility and told me that is was the original strut and they just go bad. They said if I buy strut for $680 they would put in on for free. However the strut was replaced 3 years ago. I explained that and Hoss got very rude and asked me to leave and said if I come back he will call police. Wtf? I spent $900 and they sent me home with a car leaning so bad I can't even drive it. I will be contacting the state on this matter. Hoss is a low down dirty businessman. read more

Just remember to ask why it needs to replace one part of your vehicle. The receipt I have says the reason to replace is "with customer approval"; however, they didn't give me any choice before, just said it needed to be replaced, which implied to me as it was necessary. It was until I saw the receipt that I got to know that the "need to replace" is rather subjective, and they didn't give me chance to make this choice. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Auto Tech Clinic for approximately 7 years. Throughout this time, the business has been sold to various owners. The current owners are by far the worst that I have ever experience. My last two visits has been horrible. In Jan. 2015, my vehicle was in to have work done. My vehicle keys and receipt (which contained my home address) was given to another patron. Fortunately, I had another set of car keys and was able to drive my vehicle home that day. However, my keys were not returned to me until a week later. The manger advise me that the patron that they mistakenly gave me keys to that they were unfamiliar with and acknowledge that he was a bit disgruntle. During this timeframe, my family was inconvenience by having to block my vehicle in daily because we were afraid that the patron whom my keys were given to would show up at my home (because Auto Tech had provide him with my receipt) to steal my vehicle. Because I had been doing business with Auto Tech for a while, I decided to give them another try. In March of 2015, I took my vehicle back to have them fix an oil leak. I was assured by the manager and a customer service rep. that the job could be done in one day. I drop my vehicle off before closing on Friday expecting to have the repairs completed by Saturday. I call mid day Saturday to check the status of my vehicle and was informed that it was being work on. A technician called me 1 hour before closing to advise that they just started the work on my car and that the repairs will not be finished until Monday. This was very upsetting to me as I was assured prior to dropping my vehicle off that the work would be complete. I was unable to go to work on Monday because of lack of transportation. Auto Tech Clinic has definitely changed for the worst. I don't think I will return to experience another disappointment. read more

My husband and I have been taking our cars here since 2011. We've had them work on our cars many times and we've been happy with their work. I had to take my Saturn last Friday due to noise/rattling sound while turning. I needed a new tie rod and new axle. Anyways when i returned to pick it up I only took my keys and returned shortly after shop closed with my husband. Well it was a mess once I started it. The speedometer would cut in and out and when it cut out my engine would rev up and act as if it was stalling. I had to return it within 10 minutes. I had to deal with this issue on Saturday morning. But i am so glad that Hass took it with me for a several test drives and he took care of it. Im not sure what happened while they were working on my car the first time. But Hass was very willing to make it right and have it back and running the way i originally took it in. I am confident in his assessment and he went above and beyond to figure out what the problem was. We will continue to go here for car work needed! read more

Really stuck it to me. I knew i had a leaky hose because I tried to fix it for a week before I took it to them. My wife liked them so I took it there. I told them I couldnt fix the leak and told them to do it. They called me about an hour later and told me my steering rack had multiple leaks and had to be replaced. TOTAL BS because I knew where the leak was. They said 475 .00 to fix. I agreed because they saiid they may get it done that saturday by 4 pm before they closed and that would save me a drive to Houghton MI to drop my son off at school. At 12:30 pm I stopped by to give them my cell # because I already packed up another vehicle and was ready to drive up and come back. 20 hour drive and 250 dollars in gas. They promised me it would be done by 4pm. My exact words that came out of my mouth were, "YOU GUYS ARE AZWESOME" At 3:40 I got a call to come get my car they were taking it for a test drive. At 3:50 I got a call telling me a hose was collapsed and they were going to try to get me another and would call me back. NO CALL CLOSED ON SUNDAY. I was forced to send my son up north 6 hrs later through a snow storm that could have been avoided if I would have left at 12:30. Monday morning they tell me they cant get the hose until tuesday, the same hose I couldnt get to stop leaking. Total cost 500.00. No apology. They did give me 2 free keyrings with their logo on it. I will be driving up to Houghton MI this weekend to swap vehicles. 20 hrs driving if weather is good, 250 in gas, maybe a hotel. 800.00 to get a 50 dollar hose changed. read more

Yikes!!! They lie to you on the phone. I had a coupon for a front end alinement for $29.95 so I called to see if I could get my Escape in. I was told that it would be $40 because it was an Escape, "Because Trucks and SUVs are harder". I do a lot of work on cars and thought there was no difference in the procedure. Just to be sure I called a friend who was a grease monkey for a Ford dealer and now works at Ford Corporate and confirmed that there is indeed no difference in the procedure or in difficulty between an Escape or a car. I called back to Autotech and asked about this and was told "It is our company policy to charge $10 more for Trucks and SUVs". This is a bad policy and makes me not trust them especially since they lied about the fact that it was "harder", what else would they lie about? Not going to go there even though it is still approx. $10 less then other places I don't feel that I could trust them. read more
