We had a very traumatizing experience today at our first (and last) visit to Auto Pride. TL;DR: Our car's mechanics got badly damaged from the wash and the staff was barely helpful and quite accusatory in response. My boyfriend got the full car wash for about $40, and the wash/cleaning itself was not bad. However, as soon as we turned out of the lot my boyfriend noticed that it was difficult to turn his steering wheel. The wheel made a heartbeat-type sound every time he turned the wheel, which was also very stiff. We definitely did not have this issue prior to coming into the wash. At this point, we were both VERY nervous about driving the car and its safety since we had never had an issue like this before. We've had dozens, if not hundreds, of car washes before and this is the first time we've encountered any issue so we were very concerned. We pulled over at the Chevron across the street to try and unsucessfully troubleshoot the problem ourselves. Finally, we looped back around the block to return to Auto Pride. This in total was about 5 min after we left. When we returned, someone tried to help us with our car albeit in an unfriendly way. He agreed that there was definitely an issue and tried to theorize what might be going on. But he also implied that it was not their fault, and "anything could have happened" from time we initially left Auto Pride to when we came back (which was just a loop around the block ~5 min). I understand that Auto Pride legally might not be able to admit fault, but we felt that they could have been a bit friendlier and more empathetic about the situation. We were not offered any sort of apology or refund/discount. We filed a formal complaint with the staff before leaving. After this incident, we stopped by Gosch Bros, a mechanic in San Mateo which we highly highly recommend. They applied some lubricant to the steering wheel shaft, which fixed our issue. I'm not well-versed in car mechanics, but it seemed like the wash could have potentially damaged the steering wheel shaft and dried/rubbed off the lubricant on it, causing the friction and stiffness of the wheel. Of course we can never prove that Auto Pride was responsible for this. However, it is very likely that the way they handled or washed/cleaned our car caused this issue since we very recently got our car serviced. And we had no issues with the steering wheel prior to our visit to Auto Pride. We will not be returning to Auto Pride and would caution everyone to be careful here. read more

Our car is brand new, a 2020 model, and beautiful. We are happy when we drive it. But, it needs to be clean and shiny. It's now dirty from two weeks of the adventure of driving bliss. Recently we took it to Auto Pride to see if a hand wash is genuinely superior. The concept of hand washing seemed like it might be better than an automated car wash that comes with brushes, imperfect cleaners, and polishers. It was not In this instance, it wasn't as good or what we wanted. We're not experts in car washes, but we are learning, and we see cars that are clean, polished, and enhanced. We want that. We don't want dirty windows that are worse than the windows we brought in (see photo). The car was not clean after its wash, and we were so dismayed that we just left, believing that Auto Pride probably couldn't give us a clean car, even if we complained. So, we're going to keep trying. We will find a better wash eventually, but not here. We know it exists. read more

I used to like this place, but I'm disappointed in my recent experience. They offer an "unlimited monthly wash pass" which I tried. I felt like the washes were done quickly and not as thorough since I had the unlimited plan. At My last visit, they offered a polish for $100 fee. I declined and they said they can do it for less, so I agreed. I showed up again a couple weeks later and they suggested another type of "add on" service for $100. I declined, but was asked several times and was told they can do it for $60 instead. Very shady. I canceled my membership and will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

So after a couple months of not washing my car and with a recent road trip I really had to wash my car. Normally I'm one to wash my own car due to the fact that I like to get every dirt and grime off. However this time I was partially injured and somewhat lazy so I took it to a hand car wash. After all research I brought it here and got it washed, vacuumed and dried for $35. I arrived at opening time 10AM so I didn't have to wait too long. Usually I'm skeptical about having strangers washing my car but this place did a good job, not the best but enough for me come back again when I'm feeling lazy. Really big premise with fast service, of course they try to upsell you for a higher product but I was tough. Lol. General area where you can sit and watch your car getting dried and a little shop for You to peruse around to kill time if need be. My car's wrapped with a PPF, so washing the body isn't that hard. Instead the tricky part is in the details: the rims, the chrome, and my all black interior. The quality of the waches are not improving. I have been coming here for years. I always buy the exterior booklets and occasionally get the full service washes. They are rushing too much especially when it's busy. Every time I go home the front and the roof of my van are filthy. This time the side mirror was untouched and the bugs were left there. One suggestion is to let the car pause for a few more seconds they the tunnel so the guys have more time to do a thorough wash. It's way too rushed and for the price you pay I would at least expect a decent wash with most of the dirt gone. I love the hand wash but please have at least one more person in the tunnel or slow the cars going thru to it can get a better scrub down. read more

This review is for the Quick Lube only. Great customer service! I went back in less than 3 months since getting the oil changed and they were happy to check all the fluids and fill them to the top! I don't know what they're using to wash or dry the car, but just one wash and my paint has all sorts of scratches that weren't there. When I confronted the guy working the entrance he just said something like "they don't do that." A manager did finally agree to buff out my hood, there are still a lot of scratches remaining. Very disappointed. This is my second time visiting and last time was fine, but this time they did a very sloppy job cleaning the car. There were crumbs and smudges left on the seat, dirt left on the interior of the doors, the steering wheel hadn't been cleaned, my things in the trunk had been disheveled (I had everything neatly put in two boxes when I opened the trunk for them) and the trunk hadn't even been vacuumed, and there were smudges and dirt left on the exterior of the car. This is certainly not what I paid for and when I pointed one of the things out, they just motioned for me to move my car. read more

I got the Platinum Special, and the exterior wash was great. The interior wash, however, was a disaster. Whatever cleaning and dressing they used left swirl marks everywhere, along with white goop that wasn't wipes off. I had to go over the car and re-wipe everything with my own cleaner--the swirls were hard to get out once they dried. 45 dollars to wash a car ok that is the price these days I get it, however to return to your car and have it still be dirty then have ask to have it cleaned more thoroughly. The response oh you will have to pay for a detail, I literally rubbed the dirt and spots off with my finger where it was still entirely filthy. They would not finish it, I was however able to clean it myself when I got home with a damp towel. Come to think of it maybe we should all not pay 50 bucks for a car wash and start doing it ourselves. Went there last Sunday (it was the ONLY place I drove to that day) and left the car wash with a DENT in my BRAND NEW CAR!! When I saw the dent, it had some cleaning powder on it. I drove it back to Auto Pride, and the manager Kareem said there was no way that could've happened here, it had to have been before. How could the car go through the wash and still have powder on it?! There is no way. It happened there, and I know because I always inspect my car for dents and scratches before leaving the house. Anyways, when we went to review the video footage, which did not show the angles properly, he said "there was another girl with a dent in her car, but she was so scared of her dad that she blamed it on us but I proved her wrong". I honestly didn't have a great experience with them. I purchased the monthly pass for inside/outside and they just did a very poor job cleaning the inside. The first time they didn't even vacuum the backseat floor. There was also a ton of dust on my center console after I left. Gave it a second try and the same thing happened so I canceled immediately and started going somewhere else. Not a good bang for your buck. read more
