Excellent hand washed vehicle business! I've been coming to the San Carlos location for years now and really enjoy the friendly / professional staff and hand washed cars. We bring 3 cars here almost once a week on a monthly subscription. I've also started using their detailing services in the last couple of years. My only concern is I've heard rumors from friends that Auto Pride may be moving to a machine wash system. Not a fan of machine washed cars. It's the only hand wash car business in the mid-peninsula that I know of. It will be a sad day if Auto Pride moves to a machine washing or touchless system. Ok so I come here for a cheap wash, I know $20 is $20 and you can't expect a complete detail for the price although it seems as if they barely even try to clean the car, the amount of bird poop drippings i've found all over the car still and dirt all over the front and rear bumper is just ridiculous. i had a detail done too and it was insanely expensive and i still found tons of dust and dirt in my interior. i'd avoid going here honestly, prices are cheap and the people are very nice but they don't do a good job sadly. read more

This location has changed a lot. I came here for a car wash. They seem to have become much more focused on upselling than customer service. They no longer allow customers paying $30 or more for a wash to use the vacuums, even if they're vacuuming their own vehicle, which wasn't the case before. They also kept trying to upsell me on a $150 clay bar service. At that price, I could simply get a full mobile detail elsewhere. The biggest disappointment, though, was the staff. The sun finally came out do o returned to Autopride for a Carwash. They did a nice job of handwashing my car, vacuuming the inside and wiping it down. I watched as the did a thorough wipe down following the wash, opening the tailgate and wiping all around the opening and inside of the windows. Wash is priced at $35 and they do a nice job. Been coming here for a couple of years now, the customer service is awesome. They have so much in their gift shop, a little something for everyone. They even have complementary coffee while you wait. The car wash packages they offer are great deals, even if you wash your vehicle once or twice a month you get more than what you pay for. I was a loyal customer here for over 10 years, but my recent experience was extremely disappointing. After being in a car accident, I called to ask if my membership could be placed on hold while my car was in the shop. Instead, the employee canceled my account without my permission. When I explained I never asked for a cancellation, I was told I would have to rejoin at a higher price. To make matters worse, my husband later went in unaware of the issue and was charged twice. I was told someone would follow up with me, but no one ever did, and the company never corrected the mistake. After a decade of loyalty, I expected much better customer service. The hand car wash is good for those who don't want the abrasive brushes on the automatic car wash places. They do a good job of vacuuming inside. Sign up for the monthly membership and you can go get the car cleaned as often as you like. Works for me especially since I've been doing lots of road trips lately. I went to this car wash on a Saturday. They didn't have a line so I was able to get my car washed without a long wait. The price was also reasonable if they would've done a good job. When I got my car back as soon as I looked into my car I saw a bunch of dust on the middle console which told me the job was not done right. It was also evident that the area where my cupholders are was not wiped down at all. I had spilled something a day prior and had done a little cleanup on it myself but some parts still did have a little bit of residue, and I spotted the exact same residue there. They also are supposed to clean your windows inside and out, but the inside of my window was not cleaned at all. It also did not seem like my dash was wiped either. Last Sunday was my very first time went there. I just bought a used 2013 Fiat. First, I called to ask the price and if they could clean cat hair in the car. The lady was very friendly and helpful on the phone. I read all the reviews here, most of them weren't good at all. I was a little worried, but still gave it a try ! They had many cars were waiting for the car wash. But the line was moving fast enough. The guy was very quick and looked happy to help me with my questions and request. So I went for $48.99 service and plus $10 wash the floor mats. I was very surprised that my car needed 4 people to clean bc it's a small car. I made sure gave them good tips. I'm so impressed by how clean and cute the gift shop is ! Two young ladies worked there were super nice and talkative. They even kind enough to tell me about the arts projects on the wall. I got the platinum package and it was only just passable work. There was still a bunch of dust inside the car and lots of dog hairs that were not vacuumed out of the carpet when I got my car back. I had to wipe several spots inside the car again. There were also several spots outside of the car that was still quite dusty and streaky that I had to wipe again. I try not to write bad reviews, like the people seem nice, i told them from the beginning i want the inside of my car cleaned, the guy was like im going to give you a good price $170. i was like ok sounds good i then check the receipt it shows $20 wash $150 wax so at the counter i tell the lady i dont see anywhere on the receipt that shows theyre going to clean the inside of my car so shes calls the manager in and hes like yea im going to give it to you for free and i reiterated that i really wanted the inside of my car cleaned. i come back 2 hours later, the outside looks nice and is waxed, but the inside like half assed and not cleaned. like if i wanted to vacuum it myself i couldve done a better job. then they send out someone with a bottle and rag, which doesnt do much. I wish I could give negative stars! The worst experience I have ever had! I took my car to this car wash, and they scratched the paint off my car. The reason I'm sure it was them it's because I have the camera footage of my car when I left home where the paint was still there. The worst thing was their attitude on resolving this. Especially the guy in the picture whose name is Kareem(?) and is the co-manager of this car wash. He came to us and kept saying there was no way the scratch happened during car wash, and tried to kick us out. Great to have a hand wash place in San Carlos as it is recommended for cars with PPF (paint protection film). There's a growing trend of PPF cars, led by Tesla owners but also in general, so this chain does serve a unique segment of car enthusiasts. Convenient and relatively spacious location off El Camino Real. Outdoor/shaded seating areas and a decently sized indoor sundries shop. I've gone to three of the Auto Pride locations and found the San Carlos location to be the better. I had the unlimited wash subscription for two years, but canceled it due to buying a new car. I never transferred it because I was afraid of getting scratches. They used to use the same brush on the wheels with the body of the car which left scratches on my previous cars. I started washing my car at home, but still come here time to time when I don't feel like doing it myself. I have paint protection film on my car so I'm not too worried about the scratches. They must have recently updated their process since they use separate brushes for your wheels and body of the car. The service is great and the staff are friendly. They offer you detailing service, but they never push if you say no. They're like a one stop shop since they have a gas station and oil change service if needed. The cost is not too bad given the services provided with each level you select. I usually get the gold service which includes interior/exterior cleaning, vacuum and shampoo floor mats, tire dressing, wipe down of console and dashboard, inside/outside glass cleaning, and clear coat sealant. It used to be $39.99 but it recently increased to $43.99. They have a coupon on their website that gives you $5 off. They're one of the only car wash places that hand washes and doesn't use those gigantic spinning brush mechanisms. Those will destroy your car. The do a quality check after your car is done and if theres spots, they'll redo the wash for free. When it gets busy, they'll miss things but they're good about making sure you leave happy. I'm only giving 4 stars just because I've had to clean some areas they missed that I didn't catch while I was there which happens a lot. I'm meticulous about my car so I may have different expectations than most. I still would recommend this place because of the price and the service you get. I'm a repeat customer and I don't mind the drive since they're better than the Burlingame and Redwood City locations. read more

As I take my groceries in, I look at the bumper and its still covered in bugs and bird poop. I can't. I decide to call them and tell them that I am so disappointed - I don't even want a free carwash - I just want them to pay attention - but as I'm telling them how sad I am at the quality of the carwash, not even yelling, just describing, THEY HANG UP ON ME!
