Wow I used to love this place - perfect job on my cars, everyone so nice - quality has been going downhill since reopening after COVID, but I like this place because it has a bathroom lol - small bladder - well now you drive in and they just HOUND you to upgrade the service - for goodness sake I already said NO - TWICE! If my kid wants the SUV he drives to be waxed, he can do it or pay for it himself! Want a membership? NO! Seriously, my kid can budget carwashes or do it himself. I'm just washing it because we took it on a family road trip and it is a mess. Lucky son. Anyway, trying to upsell me. Fine. He's just doing his job. I said the car went on a road trip and has bugs on the front - he said the bugs will come off. Dude was VERY VERY nice - again, he has been told to upsell. I get the car back, looks nice, I drive off to run 1e6 errands including going to the store. Open the back door to the second row of seats to put groceries on the floor (so groceries don't go flying) and they haven't even wiped down the seats or vacuumed the floor?? For goodness sake, I just paid $33.95 for the carwash with a $10 tip! I'm so disappointed but I just don't have time to go back. As I take my groceries in, I look at the bumper and its still covered in bugs and bird poop. I can't. I decide to call them and tell them that I am so disappointed - I don't even want a free carwash - I just want them to pay attention - but as I'm telling them how sad I am at the quality of the carwash, not even yelling, just describing, THEY HANG UP ON ME! OH F THAT! Hell no, you will never get another dollar out of me for my 3 cars, washes, waxes, all of it. FORGET IT! SO RUDE! Way to lose a long term customer. I gave them the benefit for WAY too long. My bad. Buyer beware. Check your car before you drive away, and before you leave the tip. read more

Updated Review: I came after work for another interior detail job. I wanted to give them another shot. This time it exceeded my expectations and was cleaned perfectly. No concerns, it didn't feel rushed and the manager made sure to let me know that if anything wasn't done to my liking, to come back. Very happy with my service from Monday. read more

Auto Pride - Car Wash Near Me - San Carlos, California

I had a monthly membership for a while and I often had to ask for a re-wash or a second drydown due to missed areas. That was annoying but not a dealbreaker since the location was convenient to me. I kept the membership for several months and I usually went in for a wash once a week. I ultimately ended up cancelling though, because I did not feel comfortable with their employees driving my car in and out of the wash. I found a place where I drive it through instead. read more

It's a great place for a quick touchless / brushless wash and vacuum, but there is a general lack of attention to detail. When I get Platinum or Gold wash packages ($40-50), the outside of the car is still dusty in places, small spots of bird droppings are still there, and in general it looks like a half-hearted wash. The interior is always worse. The interior dressing is slopped on randomly, and any given surface will have part of it dressed and wiped, and other parts left alone. The back of my seats were left completely alone and were full of dirt from my kids' shoes--it's easy to spray and wipe it off, but they missed it completely. I mentioned the interior dressing issue when I ordered Platinum just today and the guy at the check in place said he was confused that there would be goop left everywhere. I said I'd give it a try again, but regretted it--there was so much missed when I picked up the car--same as usual. It wasn't worth trying to point everything out for touch ups. So for a quick wash and go at the lowest price or their unlimited monthly deal it's fine, but the upgrades are definitely not worth it due to the lack of attention to detail. read more

Auto Pride - Ruined my leather seats. These guys are careless. Don't go here. - Car Wash Near Me - San Carlos, California

Good quality, fast, and nice peoples. The monthly package is definitely worth if you like to get car washes regularly. Two car washes a month and you've got your money's worth! I also love the shop and complimentary coffee, and the windows while you watch and wait for your car read more

This has been my car wash. My go to. For literally decades. Since the first time I was told to use a "touchless" wash, no rotating brushes or swishing felt rags, I've been here. And I have loved them. Everybody is nice and responsive. The car is handled beautifully; I even love the gift shop with the best greeting cards around. But the last few months things haven't been right. Crumbs left in the interior on the seat and mats. Dust around the gear shift lever. Drips running down the side of the car and last time, my wheels were still very grimy. The first couple of times the car looked slip shod, I chalked it up. They're so kind and hardworking, I just wasn't gonna complain. But this last time I didn't notice how many issues there were until I got home and I was really disappointed. Especially since they've raised their prices substantially and put the full court press on to buy a monthly pass and hand wax each time I visit. I decided I'd talk to them about it on my next trip in. However, coincidentally other AutoPride lovers were yammering on Nextdoor (where there's generally a lot of dissatisfied customers with life in general) about how AutoPride has gone downhill. Subsequently they were blown off by management when they complained. This seems way out of character. But then, I wouldn't have believed they'd do a poor job either. So this is my plan - I'm still going to talk to them when I go back, one more time. If they aren't courteous and concerned and don't return a gleaming car to me, I'll report back here and let you know. Likewise, if they straighten up and all is well, I'll update this review. Right now - the jury is out on this place. And I'm pretty sure there's been a sea change here. I'm on the lookout for a return to loveliness, as in perhaps they've been shorthanded or have newbies they're breaking in, -- or perhaps, mediocre is their new normal. read more

I don't know where to start with this review. Location is convenient. I came early enough to pump gas and get my car prepped for an interior and exterior cleaning. It was not busy at all. But when I looked around for help to pay for gas, I asked a few guys for help and it took a while for someone to figure out that a customer was waiting to pay for gas. One of the guys would just point in the direction of a group of workers instead of going to get someone to help. Pointing isn't helping me. And clearly he was not willing to help. He just sat there and pointed... (???) I was at the pump for 20 minutes, I kept busy clearing out my car, seats and trunk for cleaning. By the time I got help and finished with gas, the car wash was packed! When I went inside the shop to pay I was pleasantly surprised to see all the nice products and items that they were selling. The line was long and busy. The girls at the register were very good and helpful. They seemed to be on top of things. I used the bathroom, browsed a bit, drank a protein shake, and watched my car pass in the conveyor wash while another worker washed my plastic mats right in front of the window where I was sitting. After a few minutes I walked past the front door and noticed a worker waving me down that my car was complete and ready. I was super surprised at how fast that was. Literally 2 minutes ago someone was spraying down my mats. I thought, "No way my car is ready already!" (???) Oddly enough it was, only to find mini-puddled plastic mats inside my car floors, and still-dirty seats and panels. I didn't have the energy nor time to complain or correct at that moment. Luckily my car was dirty enough for me to feel like it was "good enough", but the truth is it wasn't great service here. Probably won't be coming back for a quality car wash. read more

Usually I receive the greatest service from this place, and they do great work. This time, I was very disappointed. I know it was New Years Eve, but I feel like they rushed through. I got the Platinum package, so I was expecting CLEAN. We'll, when I got back into my car, I found dirt that could have easily been vacuumed and wiped down. Very disappointed with this visit. read more

Every time I go to this car wash, I have to double check their work and ask them to wipe down areas they missed which is typically at the bottom of the car. Today I was in a rush and didn't realized they did a horrible job vacuuming the carpets until I got home. It was so bad that I had to vacuum all the seats and floors again, and I'm so mad that I have sworn to never return to this place. And by the way - I didn't even get the air freshener included in the package. I do not recommend. read more

Auto Pride - Car Wash Near Me - San Carlos, California

If I could give 0 stars I would. This is the 3rd and LAST time I will be taking my car here. Today I brought in my BMW x5 to be washed after a weekend away where my car got muddy from driving through a muddy gravel trail. I usually wash my car myself, but didn't have the time to wash it at home so I brought it here. When the associate called me over to let me know that my vehicle was ready to go, I noticed there was still mud residue left on the whole bottom half my car around the entire vehicle. I brought it to the associates attention where he then took his bottle of glass cleaner and sprayed the whole bottom half of the car and wiped it with a rag. Even after his effort, there was STILL mud residue left behind. At this point I was annoyed and uncomfortable so I just left and went home to rewash my entire car myself. Upon inspecting my vehicle when I got home, I noticed there was no tire dressing applied to my tires and my wheels were still very dirty despite those two services being included in the exterior wash that I PAID for. I was so upset about this experience that I decided to give them a call and spoke to the manager Aurelio Karin who was extremely defensive, unhelpful and argumentative. He told me that no, he could not give me a refund and that they have a 2-day rain guarantee and I could bring my vehicle back to be rewashed within the next 2 days. He was very defensive and argumentative, saying no one ever calls to complain about their work and that he had 70 cars in today and I was the only one to call and complain. He then told me it was my fault and that I should have asked to speak to the manager right then and there so that they could have washed it again. So I then asked him why his associate didn't offer to wash it again when he could clearly see there was still mud residue left after wiping my car with glass cleaner. He told me he does not allow his associates to offer to wash the car again and that I should have spoken up more and asked to speak to him. I then told him if I'm the paying customer why should I have to work to get my car washed and speak up more when I'm already being put in a very uncomfortable situation. So he then finished with that he can't make me happy and there's nothing he can do for me. I will NEVER be coming back. If you care about your vehicle, please take it elsewhere. And just a side note- when I brought up that his employee sprayed glass cleaner over the body of my car, he told me they do that for every customer. Unbelievable. read more

I wish I could give this place negative stars. After damaging my vehicle with a 3+ inch scratch on my hood that went down to the bare metal, their manager, Karin(?) was absolutely rude and disrespectful, refusing to provide the location's insurance information and his manager's name, and claiming that it could've happen by a "cat scratch". He even went as far as saying "yeah, that's what everybody says" after I explained to him what happened. I'm sorry, but a cat's claws are nowhere near strong enough to cut through multiple layers of paint and clear coat, down to the bare metal, on a brand new car. The manager even called the police over and even THEY said that the scratch is way too deep to be from an animal or an object in the road. The shape of it matches with the motions they use to wipe down your car while washing it. I have had a platinum unlimited wash plan for over a year with these guys with multiple cars, spending thousands of dollars for their mediocre service and washes. I have a black car and it is NEVER wiped down properly after a wash. I drive off with water dripping all over the car every time, leaving terrible water spots, which turn into scratches, which turns into their people pressuring you to get a "wax for the scratches" every time. And they don't take no for an answer very easily, they constantly push until you straight up tell them to stop asking. What they don't tell you is THEY are the ones scratching your vehicle, and trying to upsell you on a service. They don't wipe down or vacuum cup holders, they barely vacuum the seats (I find debris in the backseat after EVERY wash). I was content with the mediocre service for the simple fact that this location was convenient, but after damaging my vehicle and having the "manager" behave the way he did? I will never spend another dime with Auto Pride again. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this company and this location, especially. I was only paying $80/month, and now they're charging well over $100/month for the same services. If you want to risk damaging your expensive car with them, go for it, but just know that they will treat you the absolute worst if you accuse them of anything. Might even call the police on you too. Stay away from these people. read more

Purchased the monthly pass. Every week I'd go get it washed once and it would come out with water stains and everything still dirty. Takes them about 1 min to dry your car cause they don't even dry it . Stopped going and noticed I got charged again for another monthly pass without giving them my consent. They said too bad we'll stop charging you next time .. but until you tell us to stop we will continue to charge your credit card. I recently subscribed both my cars to The monthly membership car wash plan at Auto Pride in San Carlos after leaving another local subscription car wash. I have a 2019 Tesla Model S that has had a ceramic coat professionally applied with two refresher coats and the vendor told me I should be getting the car washed by hand. After researching the various car washes in the area I found that Auto Pride was the only car wash left that does a 100% hand car wash. Their tunnel has only high pressure jets where soap, coatings and the rinse is applied after the cars are completely washed by hand. Other car washes that previously were Wash by hand have now switched to rotary brushes or polyurethane paddles in the tunnels. The Auto Pride folks seem to pay attention to detail. My wife's car has the outside only membership subscription but The employees would do the little things like open the trunk and wipe the water from around the rim and open the doors and wipe the water off the door frames so they would not drip later. Also on the tire shine, they would apply the shine chemical to the brush before they use it on each tire and the previous car wash I went to would just apply it once to the brush, then apply it to all four tires. These might be small things but they make a difference and show that they care about service. Even when it gets busy there, they have a large enough crew to handle the traffic. Based on previous experiences with other car washes and comparing them to Auto Pride, I would definitely recommend Auto Pride San Carlos to anyone that needs a high quality wash/detail job! read more

I normally go to a different Auto Pride, but I was in the area and came to the San Carlos one. They did an ok job, though not as good as my usual Auto Pride. The big thing they missed though, they didn't clean the second row. The seats are still dirty, as are the back of the seats (kids). There's a clear footprint from my daughter on the middle seat. I only came here for an exterior wash not a deep clean because I generally keep my car very tidy except one day a bird went to town and crapped all over my car. I decided to try this place out because I'm weary of the bristles of drive thru washes. About $17 for an exterior hand wash. It can get a little confusing at first if you're a first time visitors, the trick is to drive all the way to the back past the drying station. There someone will ask you what service you want and if you prefer to have someone there drive your car or you drive it yourself. Go inside to pay and then out the doors to the waiting station where you can see them dry your car. For just a little more than you'd pay for a car wash at a gas station you can a much better clean. I'd come here again! read more

This is my go-to car wash. I have racks and solar panels on my roof and I prefer this place because of they are ash by hand - no machines touch the cars. I brought in my dad's car today to Auto Pride. There was grime, dust, and muck in places I can't even describe. There were a handful of stains on the trunk mats. Gabino was my savior!!! Gabino and Carlos took incredible care to get the mats all cleaned up (for only $10 extra!) and the whole team at Auto Pride did an incredible job with the car. I'm torn writing this review because the staff is so friendly, but I have to give it two stars because the car wash just isn't up to par. Despite wanting to support them, I won't be going back. This was my fourth time, and probably last time there. Paying $40, you'd expect a thorough clean, but there's still a lot of dirt left inside the car after they vacuum and dust. They didn't bother wiping down the areas that really needed it. You're better off going to a regular car wash for $10 and doing the vacuuming yourself, or finding a different hand car wash. Compared to the excellent service and fresh scent I've experienced at hand car washes elsewhere for even less money, this place just doesn't cut it. :( read more

I went to Auto Pride because it was the highest rated and I'm unfamiliar with the area. I was in town to retrieve a car that had been stored for nearly a year, obviously it was filthy outside and very dusty inside. The $33.99 price for the most basic wash was off putting however I went ahead out of shear need. There were a lot of workers standing around but apparently only one person, who was helping another customer, was able to complete the intake (almost 5 min wait). When the car came out of the wash rack about 5 or 6 different workers swiped a towel over the car but nobody did any detail work. The reason this is 2-stars instead of 1-star is because 1 guy addressed the spots and dust that remained, after I pointed out the areas of concern. He also opened the trunk to wipe around the edges, as nobody else had bothered. Glad I never have to return... read more
