    Brought my well loved BMW X5 with M packages to Auto Plus today. Usually I stick with BMW specialty shops but was advised by a few friends to try Auto Plus out. Full brake service (including brake fluid) and Oil change. I am very pleased with the service, knowledge , friendliness, value and timely completion. I will confidently recommend them to all my friends.

    Pricey oil change

    They're nice enough and I've gone to them at least half a dozen times but I think they're getting pricier. I can usually find an oil and filter change for 30% less (at least!) than this. So I'll probably be taking my business elsewhere going forward.

    I hope my review can benefit at least someone and not be fooled by Auto Plus. Auto Plus didn't do their work properly and was fraudulent. Here is my bad experience: My coolant light was on and I brought my car to Auto Plus. The agreement was to replace radiator, belt tensioner, pulley and oil filter housing gasket with original parts. Next day, I paid $1249.89 and picked up my car. A week later, my coolant light came on again. I brought my car back to Auto Plus again for them to check their work. The owner Ali said he found no leak in the cooling system, instead my car was "overheated with white smoke from the exhaust system" and "the head gasket was damaged". He insisted my car had all these problems before I brought my car in. His diagnose was leaking through the head gasket into the engine and out the exhaust. I kept telling him, I never see any other warning lights or overheated light were on in my car. He still insisted his diagnoses and started my car and tried to show me where the engine temperature gauge was and the white smoke he found from exhaust system. I heard some noise from my engine that I had never heard of before. My car wasn't like that when I gave it to Auto Plus. Ali insisted my engine sounded right and no noise. I heard the noise and it sounded differently than before. After more than 10 minutes, he still couldn't find the engine temperature gauge on my car. He then asked his friend where was the engine temperature gauge? His friend told him immediately, there was no engine temperature gauge in my car. Only when the car is overheated, the warning light will be on to notify the driver. The owner Ali left silently and showed his unprofessional behavior at the same time. He then kept explaining how my head gasket was damaged to cause coolant leaking and tried to avoid their mistakes. He denied the mistakes without any apologizes. He even told me, I can still drive my car, even though his diagnose showed the engine was overheated and head gasket was damaged. He said I can continue to drive my car some distances and pull my car on the side of road or on the freeway to take a break if I feel the car is overheated. He also said I can check my coolant and add coolant every day before driving. His responses were very disappointing and unprofessional again. I started to find solutions as I was stupid to believe my car was overheated and head gasket was damaged by Auto Plus's diagnoses. I talked to the Weatherford BMW and other auto shops; it would cost more than $10,000 to replace or repair. After I reviewed Auto Plus's Yelp reviews, I found there were many people had the bad experiences I just had. Their reviews stated Auto Plus was dishonest and shady, they denied their improper mechanic work and won't own up to their own mistakes... Then, I decided to take my car for a second opinion. Finally, the second auto shop found out the radiator which Auto Plus used into my car was "a poor quality aftermarket radiator with cut marks on the top and bottom" and coolant continued to leaks. Also, found Auto Plus "didn't replace tensioner and idler pulleys" which they needed to replace and what I had paid for $1249.89. The belt was found hanging off the edge and caused the belt to fail earlier. In addition, the second auto shop had proved there was no smoke from exhaust system and solved the noise from the engine. The truth is always revealed eventually. Auto Plus is not trustable for the work they agree to do, Auto Plus is unqualified for their misdiagnoses. Not recommended!!

The guys worked on my car. I did get a discount because of the earlier happening (read below). The guys were nice and professional. They checked all of the bells and whistles and topped my liquids off for free. I appreciated them because they serviced my car. I hope that I don't come back on another day when this happens. I also hope that they have a back up plan for the days when the manager isn't available. When I was at BEX, I discovered why they had associate and assistant managers. That was so that things could continue running in the absence of the person in charge. My only thing now is that I hope ths doesn't happen again. Jacqueline 10/20/25 morning From this morning two stars...I went by here this morning and was asked if I had cash because their machines were down. The manager was not due until noon. I've worked in retail for years, and if the manager isn't in, they come in to fix stuff. His unwillingness to come in says a lot. It was 8:45 in the morning when I came by and that's a long wait. So there is no assistant manager? The places I worked in had assistant or associate managers to be there and do the work of a manager. The inability to care about this enough to show up to make sure the machines are running. I was told by the employee, we don't know if it will go through. Then what? That's not good to have an employee show up and not know if he services someone on a card, if it will go through. There should be a protocol for that. Lastly the question, do you have cash? Really? Tacky! Not good morning, how are you? I'd like to inform you but his first words, "Hi uh, do you have cash?" So I had to go down the street to get coolant and put it in my car because they were open at a reasonable time but would not provide service unless I had cash!

Plus - they had an online Coupon for $ 12.00 this time to round it down from their new higher price of maybe $ 72'ish. However - MIDAS seemed to Advertise a Great $ 39.99 Deal Online. Upon Googling the ,' Nearest Location to Albany ' - I found a Store in El Cerrito near to Central Avenue on San Pablo Avenue about 3 weeks Ago. Mr. Paul , the Store Manager, was Polite on the Fone - Informing me that he could handle my request the same day if I reached there within about 30 minutes which I did. Upon arriving- I was greeted by Mr. Mirani who seemed an old hand @ the Trade having owned a Midas Store himself in the Past. S..o..o I decided to sign ' The Work Order '. I may've reached the store around 1:30 - 2p.m.'ish. Was informed there would be a wait as they had other vehicles ahead of me. I had only had 1700 miles since my last change around 04/25, but Of Course most Shops I've talked with Inform me that there is yet another ' consideration ' involved ' which is ' Oil Viscosity Breakdown ,' from Car sitting in Park Mode !!! As it's an Older Vehicle I toil hard to maintain - I will usually bring it in for an Oil Change as soon as the 15% Oil Life lamp on the Dash lights up. Since it was my first visit for an Oil Change - I asked the Staff present what brand and weight of Oil they use.     Went there yesterday with a damaged tire which, not surprisingly, could not be fixed. While I was…read morewaiting in the spacious waiting area, I checked Consumer Reports, chose a set of Michelins, checked the price at Costco. Tires Direct matched the Costco price within a few dollars, gave me a discount for cash and ordered the tires. Exactly as promised they called today to confirm they received the tires and they could install at 1 pm. The install and alignment took about two hours (as opposed to all day at Costco). They offer free repair of road damage in the tread and free rotation. I feel very lucky to have them nearby and I will likely use them for other work on my car. They are such nice guys too.

    My prior experience getting a new tire here was positive so when I needed my tires balanced I…read morereturned here. However, they didn't do the job correctly and wouldn't take responsibility for it. I know they didn't do it correctly because when Tires Direct balanced the tires it did not resolve the mild steering wheel vibration I was experiencing at speeds over 60 mph. When I took it to another shop (after Tires Direct supposedly balanced the tires), they reported that the RF wheel had an irregular weight pattern and was .75 oz out of balance and the LF wheel had no weights at all and was 2.75 oz out of balance (which is significant). The other shop balanced them with road force balancing and that solved the vibration issue. When I called Tires Direct to let them know about my experience, they became defensive and told me that the balancing numbers at every shop will be different and they did nothing wrong. Perhaps the numbers can vary, but the point was that whatever balancing they did, didn't actually fix the issue - so I wasted my money by going to them.
