DEI is heavy influence! Why is it a competition it is a tech school. I have had a university degree. This was the most humiliating experience I have ever had. I cried with my instructors....literally. No help when the school charged me out of state tuition when I live here in Green Bay. No availability for appointments in any departments. If you think they care, let me tell you otherwise. Go ahead, some degrees maybe, the blogs are inaccurate. I would never send my child to this tech school

The one star review is for the financial aid office. My wife's experience with her education has…read morebeen very positive at NWTC, and frankly we have had no complaints until the start of this past semester. The tuition isn't cheap but is much more affordable than any of the four year colleges. It is a great option for working adult students (which also describes my wife). However, despite filing for student loans/ aid in a timely manner, there was a delay for the fall semester in processing her loan. In addition to her tuition costs which we can't afford out of pocket, she had taken out extra funds to cover the cost of travel for clinicals, uniform costs and miscellaneous expenses which can add up quickly. Because of this delay, an additional $1000 (per week!) was put on her account while the problem was being figured out. instead of paying $5000 for the semester, she was stuck paying $7000 because the loan processing was delayed due to issues outside of my wife's control. She contested the hold on her account but the loan processed and deducted the $2000 in fees they had applied to her account. She now has to pay for expenses she had planned to fund with student loans out of pocket. Thankfully she did request more or her tuition would still not be paid and she likely would have been forced to drop out of the program. Despite the good education at this school, unless you have $20k plus that you can afford to pay out of pocket for a 2 year program, don't expect the financial aid office to work with you.

Stylists generally require quite a bit of instruction with regard to what you want (be specific!), but can manage a simple trim just fine. I'd suggest this place for cut maintenance, but not for anything drastic....once when I said "I'm ready to lose about 6 inches," I thought they'd died and gone to heaven - the poor (mostly) girls don't often get to do dramatic cuts (lots of men's cuts, and old women's hairsetting, as far as I can tell). They also offer nails, spa services - all at very reasonable prices.

I knew we all wanted something pretty simple so I didn't think it would be too much trouble. I was initially assured that the Special Occasions package would not take more than an hour. Luckily I planned for 2 hours because it took well over 2 and I ended up being way behind. My stylist was snarky and bad-mouthed brides that she has had before. She followed up those comments by thanking me for being so laid back and friendly, but I still did not feel like she was acting professionally. She continued to say that she was bad at braids and she was nervous and talked about how my hair wasn't cooperating. That did not help my nerves, either. I ended up having a lot of "chunks" of hair that were sprayed stiff while the rest were frizzy. Luckily another stylist came over to help with the braids, at least. My Matron of Honor's stylist was reluctant to have her sit near the rest of us during the hair and nails and had placed her on the other side of the room for both. Finally, the icing on the cake, toward the end of the appointment my nerves were pretty jumpy (because we were late, my hair wasn't working out, I had been smothered with negativity by my stylist and about to be married) one of the stylists said to me, "Don't worry, everyone's nervous their first time." My first time... getting married? Excuse me? My girls ended up with beautiful hair. I am thankful for that. I wanted to be able to get them a special treat. However, I wish the trainees would be coached on how to behave more professionally and be sensitive to the needs and feelings of their clients. Having my hair be a bit funky was not the end of the world, but I had hoped the experience would have been more calming and less nerve-shattering.

Do not recommend…read more Not only does this school overcharge already, they will find anyway to get extra money. Their excuse is that they have started the program at the tech and they added on their own information so they are better and worth more. When discussing my concerns of payment with them, they were great, understanding, and caring; ready to assist me in any way possible. Once my application was in and the interview finished, everything changed. All of a sudden they could no longer accommodate me with flexible payments (we discussed that I'd be just returning home from a month long trip so money was limited). They agreed that if I made monthly payments and had everything paid off by the exam, I would be okay. After sending in my application fee and application, I reached out to discuss payment options and they decided that I was no longer eligible to this option. They wanted everything done the way it is on their site. This would be understandable had they just said this in the LIVE interview, but why wait for me to get invested to change things? After playing around with numbers I decided that I would need to go to the next session of February. I texted multiple times and they ignored me ( but on the site say that you can text ANYTIME). Finally, I decided to just email them, finally they sent me a canned/ automated email. When I asked for more clarification, they told me I had to start over. My application fee now is technically $100 should I decide to go ( definitely not), a new interview was needed, as well as another essay with letters of recommendation. If you need a school, go to one of the technical schools or Blue Sky in Green Bay. They have similar courses as well as cheaper prices, blue sky being the only exception to the price. 100% do not recommend this school as they have shown me they don't care already!

Hands down, FVSM provides the BEST education for Massage Therapy in Wisconsin. The program has…read moresmall classes, which means a higher level of education and personal attention. The program is demanding and intense, but it's because you cover so much material in less than a year! There's a reason all of their students pass the MBLEX exam (which is HARD) the first time around. By the time you complete the program, you have confidence and you really do know your stuff. Some students commute each week from hours away because this program is worth it. The instructors are phenomenal and I couldn't be happier with the education I received. Plus, they believe in a manageable tuition and a manageable schedule. All students graduate with ZERO tuition debt. Now that's saying something. If you're interested in becoming a Massage Therapist, Yoga Instructor, Pilates, or Hooping, be sure to check them out. I highly recommend them to anyone serious about a career in Massage Therapy or other related fields.
