I also bought a vehicle from them. 24 hours later the transmission went bad. I talked to Scott Hockett who from what I understand owned other dealerships in the past and he said if I gave him my chevy blazer and my Honda civic he would fix the transmission. It was towed to On Ramp and I was told by the service advisor they were going too rebuild my transmission so that was a great deal, then I was told they are putting in a new transmission then when I picked it up I was told they put a Used transmission in it. The warning lights came on before I got it home (3 miles away). Then the transmission they put in went bad so took it back again and they initially said that it was not under warranty so I had to send them a picture of my receipt that said it had a 12-month 12000 mile warranty on it. Then ascensor was bad they are taking a sensor off my old transmission but apparently didn't take the sensor off of the second used transmission so I had to pay $80 for another sensor I had asked them to rebuild the transmission like they originally said they were going to and they refused to do so saying that they only agreed to put a used transmission in so they love to play word games all total I've had the car back at least 10 times 4 transmission check engine and other lights that came on. So I decided to take it to an Acura dealer to have an oil change done and lo and behold they said the transmission is leaking so at this point I'm just hoping with monitoring the transmission fluid that the car will get me by for a couple of years till I can afford to buy a better vehicle I had bought this car because it had more room than my blazer Tahoe my wheelchair when I needed it I like the Acura MDX itself however there were no inspections done on the car the battery was dead when I initially took it for a test drive and it look like the overhead dome light had been left on so I took them at their word that it was a good vehicle and that was my mistake I would not recommend this dealership to anyone and I've noticed that their rating continues to plummet on their website with upset customers and cars that broke down and they have refused to fix them so I hope that this post will show others not to make the mistake I did read more

We saw a nice 2007 Honda Pilot for sale online and I sent a text message to the contact person noted in the ad, Brandon. He was very prompt in responding and very helpful and replied to each of my questions, of which I had a few. I had even asked if he could take some close up pics of a certain area that I wanted to be sure it was just dirt and not rust, to which he did without hesitation. We are located in Carmel and this was at their Greenwood location, so at least a 45-min ride for us. What I was so impressed with was that I had contacted him on a Sunday afternoon and told him we would probably stop down to look at it on Tue. Brandon called me later Mon afternoon, as one of the other sales reps, Kaleb, mentioned someone he knew was coming to look at that same vehicle first thing Tue morning at 9am, and he couldn't guarantee it would still be available. So, we thanked him for calling us to let us know and decided to drive down that evening for a test drive. So glad we did, as we fell in love with it. They were honest with us and very accommodating! We asked if we could take it to our mechanic for our own peace of mind to check out, and it wasn't a problem at all. In fact, they gave us the keys and we drove it home that night. I wasn't able to set up an appt with our mechanic until that Wed., but they allowed us to keep the vehicle until we had that done. Thankfully, our mechanic checked it out and, other than just normal things that will need to be done, they didn't find any major problems, so we made arrangements to bring the car back... and since the roads were icy that day, we delayed coming down another day! All in all, I have to say this was one of the best car buying experiences we've ever had! I have to say that Brandon and Kaleb were awesome to deal with, and Barry, the finance guy, was great!! Everything went smoothly without a hitch, no pressure sales. The next time we are searching for a vehicle or if I know of anyone else that is, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase through and recommend AutoNerd!! They have some pretty nice vehicles for fair prices, are honest, and just very nice people to deal with. I highly recommend them!! read more

I purchased a 2008 Nissan Rogue from Auto Nerd at the Beach Grove location on January 30, 2017. About a week later, I received a title in the mail. When I went to register the car, I was unable to because they didn't provide me with the most recent title. I called that day and informed them of this issue. They told more they were unable to print me another temporary plate, so I was stuck driving on an expired dealer plate from March 17th on. They offered nothing to compensate, merely told me "it shouldn't be too much longer." Never once did they call me to update me on the status. I called multiple times and was told it was a top priority. On April 5, I called and explained that I was incredibly unhappy. They explained that they had to contact the dealer they purchased it from to produce the title and the former dealer was trying to track down the original owner. I asked them what they were going to do to fix the problem and they had no suggestions other than to continue waiting. On that day, April 5th, I spoke to the owner explained my frustration. He then offered to print me another dealer plate, after I was told repeatedly they were not legally allowed to do so. I told him I would rather return the car at that point because they were outside of the 31 days to provide the title. He said "you're well within your legal rights to do so." I told him on the phone I would be in on that Friday, April 7th to return it. He said all I needed to do was write a letter explaining why I was returning it. On April 7th, my husband took a half day off work to follow me down me down and return the car. I called before we left to inform them we were coming. At that point, the owner informs me that, despite what he told me, after the 31 days were up, I needed to write a title demand letter. Writing this letter then initiated a 10 day period in which they still had time to get me the title. I wrote the letter and after 10 days I was refunded the full amount. *Edit to prior review, the owner called me to follow up and informed me that he did indeed replace the transmission. My wife and I went back and forth between brands. We had a strict budget so we purchased a Fusion instead of an Accord. The same year model Honda was more than $2500 more than the well equipped Ford Fusion we purchased. Jacob was our "private party representative", as they call it. He was quiet, but did answer our questions. They let us inspect it at a local certified shop that has serviced our cars before. My mechanic provided a list of items that could be addressed over the next 10,000 miles but other than a tire pressure sensor issue, a few cosmetic items, and an alignment that was around $100.00, the car was in very good shape for a 7 year old vehicle with just under 90,000 miles. We purchased the vehicle for the asking price, which we did try to negotiate but they explained their strategy on pricing and I agreed that the price they advertised it for was considerably less than comparable vehicles and was within our budget. It was the lowest priced Fusion on car guru with under 100,000 miles. I complemented one of the managers and he did solicit a five-star google review from me after I told him how pleased we were with the website, salesman, inspection, negotiation, and positive culture. Perhaps the most impressive part of the experience was the payment process. We were in and out of the cashiers office in 10 or 15 minutes. We are still considering purchasing the warranty but over-all and to this point, it was my best purchasing experience I've have had on a vehicle. read more

Crooks! Buyer Beware! Bought an suv and within 2-4 hours of owning it had catastrophic failure. Transfer case was going out. A 5000$ dollar repair on a $10k vehicle. They sent me to some shady mechanic to have it checked out. While looking me in the eyes he says there's nothing was wrong with it. Come to find out he's buddies with the owner and financially invested in the company. I filed small claims court filings, Secretary of State, BBB, and even tried to talk to the owners about the situation. Come to find out it also had leaking head gasket that they replaced and nothing was reported to Carfax and I was never told of the engine rebuild. Obviously I would have never purchased knowing these facts. They are down right shady, they put me off, lied, and never showed for small claims filings. Secretary of State said there was over 30 plus complaints in one year alone and many lawsuits. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else. They obviously choose to be crooks instead of being straight up and doing good buisness. All just about a sale. I was treated great until I had an issue hours later. Then afterwards SAME DAY was treated like garbage. read more

"Seeing is believing"! Last month I scheduled an appointment and asked to hold a vehicle since I was coming from nearly a hundred miles east of Indianapolis. The salesman, Nathan, was a nice guy and answered my questions but wouldn't hold the car without a deposit so I gave my credit card information to him and held the car. The following Saturday I came in and I must say, all the pictures they had in the advertisement left nothing to the imagination. I did take it to a local mechanic in the area and they gave me some suggestions but overall a very good preowned IS250. The brakes, a front hub bearing, and an oil change were the only items that Auto Nerd said they serviced on it and the mechanic confirmed that the repairs were completed properly. The sales clerk asked for a 5 star review and I told them that I would consider it after a month. The dealer contacted me to find out how things were this week and reminded me of my commitment and something I said to Nathan my salesman when I was there, "seeing is believing". I purchased a warranty for my Honda Odyssey van that I bought this passed October. I was reluctant to purchase the mechanical warranty because "its a Honda". Kari, who did my paperwork and sold me the warranty, said ALL vehicles break or need serviced eventually and you don't want to be caught at a service shop without a low cost deductible for emergency repairs. Interestingly, she compared it to not having health insurance. In the beginning of January the transmission started slipping after the snow storm over the weekend. The warranty replaced the entire transmission for $100.00. Thank you Kari! I love the van, but with 170,000 miles I am glad to know it has a fresh transmission now and we are already fixed and back on the road. Autonerd sold me exactly what I needed, below what we intended to spend and even with the warranty ($1400 for 4-years), we ended up getting it for under $5,000.00. I purchased a car from Austin last week, and I even had a mechanic of my choosing inspect the car. Everything checked out well. The process was painless as I dealt with the guys from Auto Nerd. After I paid for the car, however, I got on the interstate and within 5 miles, the car just died. You really realize the integrity of a company when something goes wrong. I called Austin, he came to my aid. He let me use the car he was driving while he waited for the wrecker. As it turns out, the engine is bad in the vehicle I bought. It's a $3k repair. To make this right, the guys at Auto Nerd let me pick out the same make a model vehicle, which was more expensive than what I bought, and they did an even swap! I'm so impressed with how the management stepped up and took care of this issue. There was no way to predict the engine would have gone bad on my purchased SUV. I called Dave about a vehicle I was interested in, and he gave great details about the vehicle. We discussed price of vehicle, title fees, taxes, etc. before my 2 hour drive. Everything he told me was 100% correct! Dave did not mislead by any means. Purchased the vehicle and drove it home that day! Fast forward a couple weeks; I received the title in the mail and went to the BMV (I'm in another state) and my BMV needed some paperwork from the dealership. I called Dave and he transferred me to Kari! Told Kari what was needed and she sent the paperwork overnight! It's exactly what the BMV needed! It's nice to know we have dealerships out there that care about the customer before, during, and after the sale! I bought a 2006 Toyota Camry for son. Test drove it and one other car. Other Camry clearly had alignment issues, so we took the 06 to a local mechanic for an inspection (Meineke down the road from Auto Nerd, highly recommend, they were super thorough). DON'T BUY A USED CAR WITHOUT HAVING IT INSPECTED! If you have issues because you bought it without having a mechanic look at it, that's on you, have always done that, but that's the lesson learned from the other reviews. Purchasing went smoothly, was not pressured into any extended warranty. A week later, I got the call that our title was ready. I had more trouble with the BMV, than with Auto Nerd. Went to Autonerd in Beech Grove to check out a used vehicle had a great experience. Associates are not pushy and are very laid back letting you make your decision to buy the vehicle or not. Understanding that these are used cars I asked if their were any issues, they were very happy to answer any question I had about the vehicle and it's mechanical condition. Offered to let me take it to any mechanic or any car on the to a mechanic. I went into this understanding that these are used cars for $5,000 and under its very common for these cars to have some issues all I did was ask and I was able to find out issues. I purchased a 2013 Fusion off of Joey, Lane, and David. I had nothing but a great experience with them. Very helpful and willing to answer any questions that I asked. I made requests for a couple things to be repaired and they was already aware and had already made plans to repair. Had it done the next day and even stayed late so that I could get my car that evening. I never once felt mislead. In this line of work it is hard to please everyone all of the time. Despite some poor reviews, I visited Auto Nerd in search of a 5K car for one of my kids. There was plenty to choose from and was in / out in about an hour. No hassle, straight forward from start to finish. So far no issues. Pretty much what you see is what you get, 10 year old cars with 100k+ with prices between 3 and 10k. If you are in this market, I would recommend Auto Nerd. For those who have experienced mechanical issues on purchases from here, need to think about what you are buying. Auto nerd was placed on probation last year by the state attorney general's office. Almost exactly one year later they have vanished from the scene and appear to be out of business. We went there last fall to look at a car for my son and experienced all of the shady tactics that the worst used car dealers employ.
