My husband and I have been looking for a Toyota Sienna minivan for over a year. Every time we went to a dealership, they never had a model van for us to look at or test drive. We were told that we can order through pictures/details, may have to wait about 4-6 months to get what we want, and get charged fees of $15K-$20K above retail price......inflation at it's best! Bad Experience at this place! You would think it is a professional place to buy a car at, but trust me, it's not. When I first met Mr. Philip Thackoorie, he came off a bit arrogant. He'd say some racial jokes about North American white men, and Hispanic people that had my eye twitching a few times, but me being an opened minded person, and have a sense of humour I went along with it. Later getting to know him I've noticed he could be controlling when it came to what I wanted done to my car, or how I wanted to make my car note payments. I always feel secure paying with a cashiers check and he'll tell me I can give him cash if I wanted to. And the reason I don't like doing that is because, he didn't always remember to give you a receipt. I gave him a payment in cash twice, and the one time I gave him cash, He gave me nothing but grief! He claimed he didn't see it in his books that I made a payment in $300.00. I had to go to my bank for help to tracked down the withdraw I made that day to prove indeed I pay that amount. And the receipt he gave you wasn't a professional kind. A blank piece of printer paper with his ink writing and a stamp. Never sends you an invoice letter/bill, letting you know what's your payment or your remaining balance of what you owe him. When you do ask how much you owe left, he takes forever and a day to get back to you. This happen numerous times. At this time I started to feel very sceptical of him and his business. I dreaded coming in to see him to make a payment. I got tired of his uncalled for racial jokes that were starting to become more uncomfortable. Regretting that I bought a car from him, noticing his manic behaviour with his customers on the phone. Hanging up on them and being very disrespectful towards them. What did I get myself into? Me sitting there listening to this man telling these people off. Taking his ear off the phone acting as if he couldn't be bothered. Insulting his customers, talking to them like dogs. Who does that? Some of these customers were desperate for his help in getting a used car, so they go through this kind of torture. I was one of them. Later on I started to have trouble with my car. Every time I thought I finally got it fix, something else would happen to it. This time I told him again I was having car trouble. My engine light kept on going on and off, car jerking, never knew if I was going to make it home, or work all right. I rang Philip and told him my situation; he told me he would have one of his mechanics help me at the weekend. I had already had other plans, but felt this was more important, so I stayed home to wait for his ring. Waited, and waited all weekend. Nothing! Rang him again on Monday, no return call. Twice weeks gone and still no return call from this man. Surprised my car even lasted that long. Now I'm thinking, GREAT! What if my car breaks down any moment now? I would have to once again rent a car, and that's money I could save in my pocket! So I said screw it! I'm buying a new car from someone else. A New car with No troubles. One mistake I made, I should have pay off the car before I did that. Why? The second I told him I was buying a car from Honda, he had a fit! He gave me the run around for a MONTH for the payoff for the car. I had to bring myself in to get the payoff from him. He was surprised as hell to see me! Then he started to going on about saying, I'm not loyal to him and he's pissed off at me that's why he wouldn't answer his phone calls. Really???! He's a man in his sixties acting this way?! Not professional at all! He finally told me the payoff amount which wasn't much. He got the nerve to tell me I could bring cash after what he did the last time to me. Fool me one brother... I brought him a cashiers check the next day. Got my title for the car after he insulted me one last time for being a traitor, then I left. Boy was I happy until I went back to Honda to give the title document. Honda informs me that they needed his stamp of his business name on the title document near his signature. So I leave and ring the Auto Locator "Philip" and tell them this is what Honda needs from him. Half way to the Auto Locator he tells me in all his years he never had to stamp anything to a title document. And that he wasn't going to stamp it?! I told Philip I was half way there, so he said all right he was on he's way to from lunch. I get there 5min before he does and Philip got the nerve to ask why was I there? I told him you knew I was coming, and I need your stamp on this title. He told me he needs proof of sample of it to stamp the title. Really? I told him, can't you just stamp it. He said no and that "I" started this because. I'm not Loyal? So we're going back to that again?! I told him they can fax it to him, or he can ring them himself. Nope, he wanted me to drive ALL the way back to Honda. I felt like I had no choice so I did. I came back with the copy. He stamped the title. No apology from him at all! I went home. read more

Shopping for a vehicle I visited several public business and searched online with every website i could find. I invested 3 months into my search and found the vehicle i loved and enjoy to this day. I knew what i wanted and knew what i was looking for. He was very persistent on changing my mind on what I want. Never the less I gave him the same chance i gave to everyone else. What my budget was and what I wanted if he could find it im paying CASH here is my info and I wait for your call. He never produced what I was looking for which is completely fine with me. But 2 months after I found what I was looking for he called me out of the blue to follow up. I told him I have what i wanted and am happy. He probed and wanted to know how much did I pay for it and where did i buy it. I reluctantly told him and he became very bitter and upset that I spent too much I dont know what im doing and should have called him. He made every effort to make me feel guilty about my purchase and that i screwed up. Hes been in the business for 20 years and I dont know what im doing. I never did mention to him that my father and 2 uncles work for different car dealer ships in the Ventura county area for over 35 years. So even though im not an EXPERT i have consulted plenty of people whom I trust with my purchase. I didnt think about posting this on YELP, but I felt why not this guys pretty upset and vengeful.
