I brought it back and was charged another $1,100, and again was told the issue was fixed. It wasn't. Two days later I took the car to Southside Auto and they diagnosed the real problem within 10 minutes -- the right-side wheel bearing. This also meant that parts were replaced at the first garage that did not need to be replaced to resolve the original noise issue. They also pointed out a dented rotor on the right side that was causing a loud noise when braking. When I tried to discuss this with Angelo and asked about a partial refund, my concerns were dismissed. After spending about $2,500, the original issue was never properly diagnosed here. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

At the end they recommended I replace one front control arm bushings and rear trailing arm bushings. Estimate $1400. I took it to Joe at Malfara and he quotes me a little over HALF what Toyota wanted, so I left my car with him. He calls me an hour later to say there is zero reason to be replacing the bushings. Some normal wear and tear, but he's tested them and there was zero give. I pick up my car and he refuses to charge me anything even though they did a thorough suspension inspection - tells me to bring my car back when there's something actually wrong with it. This solved the problem, I had a heated dispute with the owner and his wife due to the original mis diagnostics and unauthorized work.They would not reinstall the original catalytic converter and discount the the price that I paid for the replacement of the catalytic converter from the unauthorized work invoice. What I got instead was unauthorized work, hidden charges, no receipt, and a damaged vehicle. They secretly added services I never agreed to, including dumping a fuel cleaner into my gas tank WITHOUT my knowledge or consent. Shortly after, my fuel pump failed. My car is now undriveable, I'm dealing with repair costs, and I was forced to miss family obligations over the holidays -- including my special-needs sister's birthday. That damage can't be refunded. Red flags everywhere: * No paper receipt * No emailed receipt * Charges added without explanation or approval * Claimed my brake fluid was "black" but never showed me, then changed it anyway and charged me * Told me in person they'd take $120 off because we're repeat customers -- the bill shows $10 off When I called to question the charges, their response was absolutely insane: "We will refund you even if we did or didn't do it." Read that again. That is NOT how an honest business talks. That is the language of people who don't know what they charged for, don't care, or do this regularly.
