It was recommended to me as a good place to take Volvos; always appreciating going to a mechanic that specializes in Volvos, I felt good taking my car there. The first time I took my car there was what really made me trust them. I had to get it towed to them from a bit of a distance, and I ended up being slightly late and knew I wouldn't be able to get there before they closed, but I had been calling them throughout the afternoon and they said "no worries", and someone stuck around to help me when I got there (and managed to fix the problem in about 5 minutes and send me on my way, which was awesome). The second time I took my car there was for some general maintenance, and while it was a bit of time ago (thus, I do not remember all of the details), I don't remember being appalled by the cost, or feeling like the repairs took an unreasonable amount of time. I'm not giving them four stars because I actively think that they don't deserve five - I just didn't take my car there enough to feel qualified to evaluate if it really is five star service. Still a place that I trust, though.

Thad is doing oil changes on my 22 Tacoma, and is my source for tires. I trust him more than the car dealer. Thad has been a local business for decades. Ya only stay in business that long if yer real, especially in Bristol. He's done jobs big and small, and pointed me in the right direction on other jobs. New engine? Sell it? I've gotten a yes to both questions. And then some advice. If a job is too big for him, he'll tell ya no and also who you can trust to do it right. No garage is cheap. Ya get what you pay for, and this place is no nonsense good work. Thad's Auto is my go to.

Jim retired around 4 or 5 years ago now and the workmanship, honesty, and professionalism has significantly declined. I no longer consider the shop reliable after multiple bad experiences that included recommendations for unneeded work, missing parts from my car, and extremely rude behavior. Most of the reviews on here are older and reflect positive experiences with Jim. I would only recommend going here for a tire change, if there are no other options.

We drove up and the customer service was excellent. Our tire was not able to be repaired. We were advised to get 4 new tires and we agreed the other 3 really needed to be replaced.
