He's the consummate professional, excellent work ethic, and absolutely knowledgeable and competent. Eran is so awesome and accommodating. He seems ready and eager to work for & with you, and he made himself available as best he could with me. Even though it's clear from his website the area range he covers, and that he's open to go even further (for, in my opinion a small additional charge), he went extra far for me; and furthermore he's always ready seemingly at a moments notice (which won't always be the case, of course, but shows that as long as he's available, he'll jump to work with you [reflective of how awesome service & work ethic he has])! The extra (again, for an small [IMO] additional charge) he was wonderful in considering for me was even as far as a used car dealership in Roseville! Just FYI, for him Gilroy is too far (haha, had to try, because he's awesome and I was desperate for the car, so for him to). And he works hard to make it that his customers don't have to do anything additional, and that he'll take care of it all -- he doesn't expect you to meet him there (although you have the option; he offered/was-open for me to be there to do it with him, but since the dealerships were like 40+ miles out, I opted not to), or to meet with him beforehand, or even afterward; you can correspond and coordinate just text and/or phone. If anything, you just might have to call the dealership and give them a heads up (telling them the time and Eran's name & business). He goes out, takes the car for about an hour, and checks everything. But beyond that (and what I mean about excellent work ethic and consummate professional) is that he documents it all (photos on top of his notes), and he goes in, around, and even under the car and looks at all the nook and cranny of all the car parts & aspects. He took plenty of photos of anything remarkable of the car (dents, paint deterioration, oil/grease stains [underhood of the car], interior issues, etc.). He has a whole form with a checklist that checks ranging from fluids to condition of belts to lights working to hoses to condition of the tires & brakes and the rest; even takes note if there's a spare tire & wheel jack. Of course he hooks up his OBD tool to check for any codes. Then he sends you the report with all of his findings, gives you a call to talk it all over and he gives his impression, then you send payment -- he's really cool about payment and states "however you want to pay"; Paypal, Venmo, Zelle, Apple Pay, Cash, Check, whatever. He gave me the impression that I wanted him to be my own mechanic; so I even asked him. And it's a credit to him to have replied that, to keep professionalism and can't claim exploitation, he doesn't do both (PPI and mechanic). He is on the high end of what you might estim8 ($180; more if you send him outside his normal area/range [I don't believe more than $200]), but I was happy to spend that on him. I'm a novice with cars (general knowledge enough, but not enough to be able to identify whether car parts are in good order and/or would last or not), so I wasn't confident in my ability to buy my first used car. I used him twice (would have been three times, but Gilroy was too far away). In the end, the used car I got has worked great for the last 6 months. And he saved me from buying an amazing car (high end Hyundai; $3k) but in such under-the-hood horrible shape that it would've been 3x the cost of the price just to repair everything -- which is proven when I saw the listing remain for 2 whole months and priced reduced twice down to I believe $2800! After it all, I brought my used car to 2 mechanics after him, and they confirmed 4 out of the 6 concerns he had -- which, granted, it's not like Eran has a car lift and a whole lot of time to thoroughly check as much as a mechanic with a garage would. He mistook cosmetic blemishes on the serpentine belt and the brakes as old age and maybe needing to be replaced -- which didn't end up being the case. But he did get the transmission deficiencies, signs on a certain valve gasket, parking brake, and other aspects right on the mark. I can't say good enough things about him! I was only able to feel confident enough to buy the really old used car that was in my budget because of him. And it's been nothing but a success! 6 months later, after taking care of the issues and potential concerns Eran noted, the car has not given any problems (that could have been foreseen; it still is a really old car so some things are bound to have come up organically) -- proving how much Eran and SafeBuy is really stellar and impeccable! If you're not the best with cars, you can absolutely trust Eran and SafeBuy; as much as you can trust his willingness, commitment, integrity, experience.

Many non-dealer shops really do inflate their jobs, then get you with finding "more" things to fix that are hard to self detect or see, especially with older cars that have lots of mileage. Renson might not be cheap, but call it fair pricing for professional work that gets done right, no hassle. While the car is being evaluated and worked on, they always give timely calls to update me if things come up. I've had our car towed to the shop for unexpected issues and they were able to turn the car around in a day. Like with any car repair, ask a lot of questions, Renson does a good job of honest answering for anything I put to them.

During the job, Andy cut into my fuel tank due to careless work--something that should never happen on such a straightforward install. He wanted to give it to his "neighbor" mechanics to fix it for cheaper labor but my brand new car deserves the dealership. Now I'm dealing with $4,200 in damages on a basically brand new car at the dealership. The shop did admit fault and agreed to pay, but I'm still waiting on the check he gave me to process in my bank, which has been frustratingly slow. What makes it worse is how avoidable this was. This isn't a complex custom job--it's a basic exhaust install that any competent shop should be able to handle without issues. Damaging a fuel tank is a serious mistake, not just a small slip-up. Just putting this out there so others are aware. If you're planning to get work done here, especially on a newer car, I'd be cautious and ask a lot of questions upfront. Really disappointing experience overall for something that should've been quick and simple. On top of that. Now I gotta wait for my car to get fixed and find a new place to install H pipe. Okay gave him the codes and sparks plugs. Okay they finished returned my car back to me with my check engine light still on so I end up paying $300 something for that service. Just for them to tell me we have to run diagnostics on it now to figure out what is wrong diagnostics come back they tell me the same thing I told Carl when I brought it in the first time so they had to reopen my engine the whole same process to get to my misfire cylinder 3 like I said previously I feel like they perpously didn't work on it the first time just to try and milk money out me because as a mechanic regardless of running diagnostics or not if I bring my car to you with my own six spark plugs and tell you I'm having a misfire cylinder 3 shouldn't you as a mechanic know to check things like the burnt ignition coils when changing out my six spark plugs are am I in the wrong???? Whatever okay they found out it's a burnt ignition coil and they ended up charging me another $460 sum again for something that should of been done the first time round the day after and they blamed me and said I brought the six spark plugs that is all my mechanic is gonna work on like excuse me are you serious ended up paying it all cuz I need my car for work so I'm already frustrated off having to pay almost $900 for six spark plug replacement and a burnt ignition coil..... just doesn't seem right at all and to top it all off like I'm not already upset about being played they changed my coolant reservoir for "Free" the 2nd time around opening my engine without even consulting with me about it and guess what I had a brand new coolant reservoir in my trunk that they didn't see or must've seen idk but my coolant reservoir was a little cracked but I was still driving it around for two months like that. I quote her "I just couldn't drive it like that we had to change it" okay I appreciate the kind gesture but seriously I drive for about 2 weeks and I'm having problems with the coolant reservoir it just isn't keeping coolant like at all and now my water pump is leaking ....... Please if you have a engine problem don't bring it to these people they will do they're best to get the most amount of money out you. Now I'm shit out of luck with a car that's leaking from there kind "free" gesture unbelievable.... The icing on the cake is I find out my coolant reservoir was empty damn near last night at work in the morning like around 1 AM stressing all night couldn't put my heater on car was just blowing cold air. I just woke up off my graveyard shift to try and call this place to explain to them my side and of course I am frustrated and angry the only day they closed is today but Arabella picked up the phone she was saying one thing then another then she kept throwing in the word "free coolant" and she wasn't listening to me she straight up just hung up in my face when I was just trynna explain to her that why did I pay $900 for services that damaged my car...

WELL! As a new girl in town, I was afraid of this exact thing. I did the research, made the calls, compared the numbers, see who passed the vibe check and all that. THIS IS THE PLACE I CHOSE AND I DID NOT REGRET IT. My engine was rumbling like a 8.0 earthquake and my car would jerk and I was afraid I had to have an engine replacement. I took it in to Edgar who is honestly one of the sweetest people. He didn't try to scare me or upsell or any weird tactics here. He actually was giving me advice and letting me know what he would tell his own daughters on being a little more car savvy so that you DO NOT get taken advantage of. Long story short, my silly car just needed an oil change. Edgar also used some oil lubricant something or other and I swear, before moving up to SJ, I have taken my car only to the dealership to get serviced and after one service from Edgar, my car has never ran more smoothly, sounded more soft and feeling a noticeable glide when I drive now. I definitely will be going back and recommend him to everyone. He's genuine, fair, and works quickly. I also didn't have enough cash and he was very understanding, kind, and trusted that I would return to pay him the rest, and he had just met me! That showed his character too.
