We went ahead with a transaxle rebuild because of its poor driving quality when I brought it in, and then spent the next two months dealing with one issue after another, trying to find the right parts (because old PT Cruiser), trying to outsmart an onboard computer that had clearly lost its mind, basically everything that Murphy's Law could throw at this vehicle. Throughout it all, Brett and his guys absolutely went out of their way to be super fair, understanding, and communicative every step of the way. In the end, there was one issue that they weren't able to diagnose, again being very upfront about it, and Brett had me do a testdrive with them to see if it was acceptable or if I wanted them to keep working on it. Since the car was running WAY better than before I'd brought it in, I gave them my stamp of approval. This could easily have been a very negative situation, but because of how reasonable and professional Brett and his team were, I'll continue to rely on them for anything related to any transmission going forward!

In addition, Brett made the process less stressful with his kindness and humor. This is the second time I've had this same repair done. The first time, it was done at a different shop. After that repair, the pickup was a little difficult in shifting (a 5-speed manual transmission), but slowly smoothed out; but after about 3 - 4 years, the same problem started to show up again! Looking back on it, I wasn't confident with that first repair, thinking I shouldn't have occasional rough shifting afterwards. Now, this second time around, the shifting is as smooth and solid as it was when I bought the vehicle. I know it was done right! Thank you Brett and everyone! The mother has dementia and didn't know or remember that her daughter told her that she already agreed to sell it to me. Brian went over right away and convinced the mother to sell it to him. He had to have gotten the keys and Title from their friend who had already agreed to meet with me a few days later. Clearly he felt the need to hurry and go buy it as soon as possible before I had the chance to wrap things up. He knew full well that he wouldn't have even known it was for sale unless I had called Transolutions asking about it. According to him, he said "if anyone's in line before me to buy it, sell it to them", but the granny didn't remember that her daughter already told her it was sold. I pointed out to Brian that he was literally going against his own word, and his response was that it was "God's will". I asked Brian if he was a good God-fearing Christian, and he said "of course!". Sorry Brian, but I really don't think Jesus would approve of your slimy behavior. If someone is willing to act like this as an individual, I doubt they'll have any integrity in running a business. We had some stupid luck with our vehicles and Toby helped us out alot! We were super stressed over…read morewhere to even begin with how we were going to get our transmission fixed. We were referred by a friend, and with our recent bad luck we were of course scared to try anyone, but Toby didn't give us any issues! Only downer was waiting a little longer then usual, but that wasn't his fault as mechanics are usually always busy! We had him rebuild our 2010 Escalade, he gave us the quote of how much it would cost at the most, sadly it ended up having to get a full rebuild. He let us know how bad it was and kept in touch with us during the process. Not only did he rebuild it faster then expected but upgraded some of the parts and warrantied his work. Stood by his quote as well, just had to pay a fee for using a card (again, not his fault). We have driven a couple thousand miles since then, mostly highway miles since we live out of town and it still drives like new! I brought my own oil and filter and the new filter after replacement was grimy and oil drops had run down to the frame. I went home and got my former receipts and THEY had doubled the price. At first I told the cashier the price was very much higher and he said the price had gone up "a little"! The former cashier was working in the shop? I don't think I will be back, the assistant manager was willing to do anything I wanted to make it up...that was ok. I asked to see the old filter and they showed me the right kind that looked like it had been changed last year, but it probably was my old one. I've gone to this place for years even though the name is of an auto dealership that has long been sold. Hard to beat the price but watch your bill, and ask before what the cost will be complete. They should clean up after themselves, wipe up behind their work. I can remember the last time I have crawled under my car to inspect a business's work. Our car is new, and this isn't my first rodeo. Owned cars for over fifty years and changed oil and filters up until I had my diesel. Oil disposal is an issue.
