The biggest issue, however, is their customer service. They rarely return phone calls, making it extremely frustrating to get updates or schedule service. Poor communication and unexpected charges have made this a disappointing experience. I would not recommend this shop, be careful.

I didn't have a copy of my insurance card; the young lady was kind enough to print a copy for me from my online policy. I had a daytime running light that had been out of service for weeks. I fully expected to pay for that in addition to the cost of inspection. Apparently the wiring was loose so I was not charged. In today's environment that level of honesty is extraordinary. I will continue to patronise Reliable Auto and recommend them to everyone I know!

Buddy McClellan has been operating this shop in the Glenolden community for 40 years. He's been my…read moremechanic for the past 10. He's done a lot of work for me. I used to own some crappy cars in my day, and I'm fairly certain I gave him so much work that I was a big reason he was able to pay off his vacation home in the mountains. Let's just say I own better cars now, and as a result I don't see him as often as I used to. But every time I need something like brakes, I make it a point to bring the car to Buddy. Bottom line is that I've known a lot of mechanics in my life. Some were good, some were not so good. You tend to want to keep going to the ones you trust because they can be hard to find. I've always trusted Buddy. He's an honest, straight shooter who will tell you exactly what you need to have done. He's not out to upsell you or to get you for more than what you need. And he will get it done right the first time. If you are a fan of supporting good local businesses, this is a great one to support. Plus, if you're looking for a local motorcycle repair shop, Buddy can take care of you too.

I was a little nervous I'd be told there were 100 things wrong with it, or it wouldn't pass inspection because of X, Y, or Z, but the convenience of them being located in walking distance of my house overrode my paranoia that I'd be taken for a fool. Despite my general distrust, I could not be more pleased! JC charged me $116 for a full inspection and an oil change. They didn't try to upsell me one bit. I have mad respect for them and will absolutely be returning for more mechanical/routine work in the future. Their prices are hella reasonable and they seem like genuinely nice people. Plus I'd rather support a local business than the VW machine!

When I got home I could smell something burning under my car. I called the local Ford dealer (who has been servicing my vehicle for 10 years). Note: I will never use their service department again! I was upset and decided to find a mechanic near me. I did a Google search for a local auto service and found Glenolden Service Center (a mile from my home).
