Our experience was a complete waste of $1800. After speaking with Ross, who stated that he has 35…read moreyears experience in dog training and much experience with German Shepherds, we signed up for the 5-week drop off for the day training. We told him what the behaviors of concern were (leash reactivity, aggression toward other dogs and sometimes people, stubbornness) he assured us that he could address these issues. So, obviously we assume that Ross is going to train our dog. So I drop him off and return at the end of day 1 and who's his trainer? A very young and very inexperienced girl who askes me: "so what do you want me to work on? Today we worked on come, sit, and stay." What??? Did Ross not speak to you and tell you what our behaviors of concern are? Obviously not. And, our dog already knows come, sit, and stay. The review at the end of the day is supposed to be 1 hour but it's lucky if it's 20 minutes and it's obvious the girl wants to leave. Since we've already paid, I continue to take our dog for lessons 2, 3, and 4 and it's merely more of the same: come, sit, stay, place, etc. with very short reviews at the end of the day. After lesson 4 the trainer says, well next week is your last lesson and it's 1 hour of review. 1 hour? The website clearly says 5 DAYS of lessons. Feeling very frustrated we skip it. That was weeks ago, think anyone has called us? Nope. Around lesson 3 though, the trainer did recommend the 1 or 2 week all day boarding/training program at another $2000-3000. Oh yeah, lets waste even more money. I would clearly NOT recommend this facility as they misrepresent who will train your dog and what they're capabilities are. It took us a long time to raise enough money for this training so it's really a shame nothing was accomplished from it and our dog's behavior has not changed.

I'm giving them one star because we contacted them on November 19th and it took them until December 22nd to finally reply to our initial inquiry via a text message. It's important for me to make progress with my dog, so I Googled alternate options and stumbled upon Alex's page. I called him on a Friday and he picked up the phone right away. We spoke for a while about my needs and he came out the following Tuesday for what was supposed to be a 2-hour visit. I fell in love with him immediately, he is not only so personable and likable on his own, but he really takes the time to LISTEN to what you need and work on those things right away. I had mentioned my priorities to my previous trainer, but I found that she was teaching my dog commands that didn't actually accomplish what I was after. In our first meeting, Alex worked on SO MANY of my priorities. He got my dog to go into her crate on command, taught her to "stay," showed me how to "walk with" my dog better on her leash, and (using a 30' leash outdoors) started working on recall with her. We were so immersed in what was going on that Alex started to go a little bit over our time, but he didn't want to stop because we were making such great progress. I told him if he wanted to give me a third hour right then and there that I was prepared to pay for it, and he did!! I learned a lot of things from Alex myself during our first meeting, like how to employ the use of "deltas" (which my old trainer never once mentioned) and how non-verbal cues are arguably more important than verbal ones. Again, my old trainer actually discouraged me from using hand motions, but once incorporating them into my routine I noticed that my dog was much more compliant than she had been. Another positive difference between my old trainer and Alex is he really takes the time to teach you why he's doing what he's doing, and encourages you to participate. My old trainer just taught my dog a command and had me replicate/practice when she left. Alex really makes you feel like you are a part of the teaching process. After our private session Alex recommended some "Small Group Therapy" for my pup. He came at noon on a Thursday to pick up my dog and she proceeded to go on a several-hour outing with his two chihuahuas and a dog he was fostering. The entire time he was out with her he was recording and sharing videos on an iCloud album. It was INCREDIBLE to not only see everything that was happening, but to hear him narrate why he was doing the things he was doing. I could not get enough of his videos and felt like I was there during the session. On top of Alex's excellent communication, punctuality, reliability, friendliness, competency, and effectiveness, his rates are OUTRAGEOUS in the BEST way! I truly believe he is under-charging for his services. I can get three hours with Alex for less than I paid for one hour with my prior trainer, and I feel much better about the work that is done during that timeframe. I adore Alex, and most importantly, what he is doing works. He really gets into the mind of your dog, and has such a wonderful way of connecting with them and their needs. I am elated to keep our work going - my pup has lots more Small Group Therapy outings in her future and it's wonderful that I have the option to use him one-on-one to teach her even more commands in the house. One day I hope to move on from essential commands to more fun ones, like "roll over" or "go get X toy."

We had previously trusted Opportunity Barks with our 2-year-old dog, but our most recent 10-day…read morestay was extremely disappointing. The manager at the boarding and training facility has changed in the past year, and unfortunately, our experience under the new management was far below the standards we had previously expected. When we picked him up, he had diarrhea and arrived with a soiled behind -- yet we were never notified of any stomach issues during his stay. He also had a deep scratch across his nose, which we only noticed in the daily photos and had to point out to staff ourselves in order to get him proper care. When we submitted a review after his stay, staff claimed they had informed us about the scratch and that he hadn't had any stomach issues while in their care. Diarrhea is very evident with our white Samoyed, as his fur gets soiled and requires extra cleaning, so their claims felt like gaslighting rather than honest communication. Instead of acknowledging their mistakes or committing to improve, staff told us we were no longer welcome and even blocked our portal login. Their response was dismissive, unprofessional, and demonstrated a complete lack of accountability. For the health and safety of your dog, stay away from Opportunity Barks and their unethical, unprofessional behavior.

FANTASTIC!! Can't…read moresay enough about how happy we were with the service that Pets Are Inn provided when we needed last minute accommodations for our beloved mini schnauzer. We were going on vacation and our previous arrangements for boarding fell through when I found Pets are Inn after doing a google search. I emailed the owners and explained my predictament. I received a prompt response from George (co-owner with his wife Pat). Long story short, they came through in a pinch. Better yet our dog was not placed in a crate all day but rather this service places your pet in a residential home. Throughout the week we received pictures and updates on how our dog was doing which was very comforting. Pat and George picked up our dog and dropped him off after his stay which was awesome. Truly the best experience we've ever had boarding our boy. Highly recommend and would definitely use this wonderful service again!!

Aren't fond of having someone you don't know in your home? Pets Are Inn is the solution. Here is how it works. George and Pat ONLY work with pet loving host families that have the environment conducive to your pet. They understand what your pets mean to you having 4 dogs, 2 birds as their family. The only time your pet is in a crate (other than if you supply it because of your pets' familiarity) is when they are transported to insure their safety. All host homes are State Kennel Licensed, insured and bonded. All host family homes are pre-inspected. We have hundreds of satisfied clients who have entrusted us with their family.
