I just turned 30. point is this. you know you reached a new era in life when your musical taste or…read moreradio station taste changes. when i was younger i loved the hip hop stations up east. well, i lived up east in baltimore. then i went into the army. after i did that stint and came to Austin, i loved the Beat and 101X. i think i just lost my point. oh well when a radio station says they play music from the 80' 90's and music of today i think they should just say...."if you went to middle school or high school in the 80's or 90's this radio station is for you!" ah dirty thirty. what an age.

Let me clear my throat!!!…read more I feel so strongly about this new suck channel that I have to write about it twice (another review is on the other way this station is listed.) It's driving me outta my miiiiiiiinnnnnndddd..... Come on, feel the vibration!!!! Feel it, feel it ??? I thought Johnny B was on the back-up, drug free and put the crack up until I heard this new station...... No more Baby Got Back? You better get it back! Where is my Buffalo Stance? I ain't no Holla back girl, but this station has lost it's groove is in the heeaaarrrrrtttttt.... Take me to another place, take me to another land, make me forget all that hurts me, let me understand your plan!! I hope you look at this with patient eyes, because I am super bow chic a ma mad about this switch....it does not make me wanna Shoop or Hold on to my Love anymore....where is En Vogue and Boys to Men at a time like this? It really does take those 2 to make a thing go right..... I know this pain......why do you lock yourself up in these chains? First it was Kidd Kraddick getting the axe, and now this? Holy atomic dog, I am furious.....I don't want to watch Saved by the Bell with a house by the Bayside, I just want JAMMIN back, the real jammin!!! Where is the humpty dance? You are gonna lose a lot of listeners, with this new stuff.....bleh! I guess I will have to go on with Me Myself and I........ Have fun dropping your rock on numb-eared careless whisperers because this station has now been removed from my old school car programmer.....

Country 101: KASE ain't country. These Clear Channel…read moresellouts aren't playing Texas Country- it's a bunch of Nashville "country." The kind of country that is like putting beans in your chili. That ain't country. These guys sound more like pop music or contemporary. It's all about love and stuff, where country music is generally sorta the opposite- their songs don't have any mention of prison, mamma, trucks, or gettin' drunk. So many commercials! It all sounds so formulaic. There's no personality to this corporate radio station. I don't ever hear any local musicians on here. Messing up country music in the Live Music Capital of the World is like messing with Texas. Keep turning that dial...

I am listening to this radio station as I type this review, although I have returned to San…read moreFrancisco. You see, this was my favorite station when I lived in Texas, and after having visited Austin for the weekend, I decided to Yelp about it. It's not a "pure" local country station. It's corporate - part of Clear Channel. But I don't care... so long as it has good country music. (Corporations aren't bad just because they're successful at what they do.)I've been starved of my Country music since our bay area country station went off the air, so this was a breath of fresh air. To be honest, I prefer Tennessee Country to Texas Country (I know, shame on me,) and for those who don't know, most every one of the nationally known Country artists are Tennessee Country. You know, the ones that head to Memphis in search of stardom. Anyway I do miss the city. So I'll admit part of this review is nostalgia. But I had my radio tuned to KASE for my entire weekend... except for a short stint on some other country station that billed itself as Austin's own radio station, except after accidentally setting KASE to the preset that the other station was on, I couldn't find it again. Five stars for "will always listen to this when I'm in town. And will listen to it online whenever I need my country fix."
