But if you research as I have, you'll learn that Class IV lasers, decompression, and vibration therapy can have really beneficial results. They do diagnostics and Dr. Murphy is very clear on what these therapies can do, and what they can't do. I'm really excited to be going here. Yesterday was my first session with laser and this magic neck vibrate thing. I could live the rest of my life without the decompression machine, but I'm going to trust that it will help. By the way, his staff, who actually do all of the treatment except spinal adjustments had no idea what I was talking about when I asked about laser. The doctor said that even though he does spinal adjustment, passive modalities (muscle stim., ultrasound, ice/heat), massage, etc. that I would only be paying for the decompression. After 3 treatments he wanted to have me sign a contract for 46 visits for decompression at a cost of $4968. Keep in mind he said I was only going to be charged for Decompression, all the other treatments were free. (Yet he did submit requests for payment for some of the free treatments from my insurance & Medicare.) When I asked him about that he tried a little circular logic on me, you know, like "who's on first". It made no sense! I called Dr. Tom Konopka, in Cedar Park to ask if he does Decompression. He does at $30/treatment. After 10 sessions I was doing so much better. I cannot imagine needing 46 treatments! He administered the treatments himself, not his receptionist. I cannot recommend Dr. Murphy.

Over the course of the last 3 years I can confidently tell you what an amazing man and hidden gem he is. A crisis in our country is the state of the healthcare industry and the toll it takes on providers. Providers can become so overworked or burnt out that they forget to see their patient as a person or have so little time that spending any extra time advocating can seem daunting. Dr. Gburek found me at the lowest point in my life. By simply listening to me, treating me like a human being, and advocating for me; he made all the difference in the world. He carefully made care plans based on my life goals like having children and factors such as my age to refer me to specialists. I had a unique case where I became medically handicapped in terms of medication. Steroids and NSAIDs cause me to develop stomach issues I had never even heard of. Stomach issues that caused me to be unable to eat regularly for nearly an entire year. I was wasting away to nothing while I waited for Cigna or any doctor to help me. I had lost 20 pounds unintentionally in 365 days. He tried to send me to specialists that could find an answer for my symptoms, but to my dismay, those specialists had no answer for me or even any ideas of how to help me. If you've ever been in that position you know how lonely and desolate it can be. It was traumatic To even be brought to that point I spent years of my life arguing with Cigna that my life mattered but, naturally, they only want to hear what the doctor thinks. Even if that doctor has not throughly completed an assessment, offered any treatments aside from medication, or been inappropriate with your care. Dr. Gburek is not one of those providers. He takes your health and goals seriously and will advocate to give you your life back. He is the only provider who advocated for me with Cigna over the last 3 years. My health struggles robbed me of my identity and I believed there was no hope. Dr. Gburek did not leave me with no hope and he did not leave me without solution. Instead, he fought for me and saved my life. By giving me a life with manageable pain, I am able to pick back up the pieces of who I used to be and who I want to become while continuing to help others as he helped me. I want providers like Dr. Gburek to know how important their care is so they don't lose sight of why they do this and continue to help people. I want patients to see this and know that there is hope for your case. He deserves all the praise and I am incredibly thankful for my healthcare hero. Experiencing a chronic health struggle can be dark but hopefully you can find someone like Dr. Gburek to turn on the light.

The injections were quick and smooth (not going to say painless because that would be lying) but if you can't have it a little pain, they have the option for a local and aesthetic. If you are dealing with back or hip pain or pain in general your body, I would highly recommend scheduling a visit through your doctor.

When I call for an appointment, I usually can get in within a few days, and if it is urgent, sometimes that same day. Now that does not include annual exams as they save appointment times for more urgent matters. Annual exams are usually scheduled a couple of weeks out and sometimes a little longer at year's end when everyone is trying to get in!! I really don't know what I'm going to do if she ever decides to move or retire. I love the personable experience and the swiftness with which they can fit me in when necessary. Sometimes if I call early in the morning I'm able to get in the same day when it's important. I go multiple times a year for allergy shots, bloodwork for thyroid medication, blood pressure checks, the occasional cold, flu, and just about everything else. When it's necessary, she refers me to a specialist. I cannot give this office enough stars!

You can't call the office and talk to anyone, you have to message through a portal and hope you put some trigger words in the message to get any kind of response. I am officially parting ways after this last incident. No doctor should hold a degree over someone experiencing something the doctor can't see or feel themselves. Take the time and find a doctor that actually responds and cares about your experience.

We trusted Dr. Kim with ongoing care, which is why this situation was so disappointing…read more We made a 2-hour round trip to a follow-up appointment only to be unexpectedly informed by Ying, the PA, that Dr. Kim was no longer with TriCity Pain, and that May 24, 2024 had apparently been his last day. Patients were never notified beforehand -- no call, message, letter, or any other communication. Finding out at an appointment that your physician had already left weeks earlier is unprofessional and unacceptable for continuity of care. The core issue is a lack of integrity in how this transition was handled toward patients in a pain clinic setting, where individuals are already dealing with significant ongoing suffering and dependence on consistent care. Abruptly leaving without proper notice shows a concerning lack of consideration and accountability toward those relying on treatment. If there was a reasonable explanation for the abrupt departure, it was never communicated to patients. Even in difficult or unfavorable situations, patients deserve a basic level of transparency and a diplomatically delivered explanation, particularly when ongoing care is involved. Even Ying appeared uncomfortable being left to explain the situation to surprised patients arriving expecting to see their physician. To be clear, the issue is not that a doctor changes practices or opens a new clinic -- that is understandable. The issue is how it was handled. Patients deserved honesty, transparency, professionalism, and integrity throughout that transition. UPDATE to previous review: Dr. Kim's response does not address the central concern raised in the original review -- the lack of communication and failure to notify established patients prior to his departure from the practice. It does not acknowledge the impact on patients who arrived for scheduled care and were only then informed he was no longer with the clinic. The response also does not include any apology to patients affected by the lack of notice and disruption in continuity of care. The use of the word "unfortunately" comes across as dismissive in context and does not address the underlying concerns regarding patient communication or continuity of care. Additionally, it references a "2024/2025" departure timeline, which is inconsistent with what patients were told by the practice (May 24, 2024) and does not align with what we experienced firsthand on June 4, when patients arrived for appointments and found he was already no longer there. Overall, the response does not engage with the communication failure or patient impact raised in the original review.
