As an unofficial but practicing member of this church for over a year, let me just say, please save yourself the heartache of dealing with the absolute worst kind of Christians who run this place. The leadership here is made up of overgrown, entitled children who have never had their authority questioned in any way. If you disagree with any of their practices, they shut you down. If you bring up alternative points of view, they become aggressive. If you dare to question their methods, they kick you out. They will initially woo you with promises of inclusion and acceptance, but ultimately, they are not interested in true diversity. Diversity of thought is a concept that they literally cannot cope with. If you're a bible believing Christian then you'll find little here that is supportive or constructive. Don't buy the hype. The elders here are life long corrupt religious politicians who are unwilling to even hear alternative perspectives. So save yourself and your family. Don't allow them in. They will break you and wound you in ways that only other "self professed" Christian's can wound you. And it will take years to rebuild your life afterwards. They'll leave you high and dry in your most vulnerable moment. That's what they did to me. Thank God that I never gave up on Him even though his representatives were abusive and irrational. All that to say, please find a better place to worship. There are many great churches in Austin, but this is not one of them. There's a spirit of pride and willful ignorance here that negates any social progress that they may claim to push for. Please don't fall for it. It's a lie. Please consider some of the other churches in the area. Find community, just not at this place. read more
