Not only is he familiar with rare diseases, he can bring out symptoms and capture them on EMG when other doctors can not. He is nothing short of gifted and has worked unbelievably hard for me. It was 6:30pm when I left his office last time and he was still helping other patients. 5 stars. read more

I've not had one good experience here. My cardiologist referred me to come here and sent my referral over back in January, they were supposed to call me and set up an appointment, months later I never got the call... I had to call them. Then told me they could not find my referral, and I had to have a new one sent. I didn't get seen until April. To which my actual appointment wouldn't be until June 30th They canceled my appointment last second, which sucked because I live 1 hour and 30min away and I was half way there. Then they rescheduled me for July 1st at 7:30am WHEN THE BUSINESS DOESN'T OPEN UNTIL 8am, so I had to sit outside and wait, when they finally opened the doors they told me they don't take my insurance anymore. They stopped taking it TWO weeks before my procedure and expected me to pay $800 upfront + any fees for afterward. This was my final straw and I just said no and walked out. That is something you tell the patient OVER the phone, not when they show up for an appointment. Do not recommend read more

The worst experience I have every had at a professional medical establishment. The staff was so rude and unprofessional that I left even before seeing the doctor. Thank heavens! I felt like any doctor that would have such a out of control staff couldn't have very good judgement. I decided it would be wise to leave and not get people like that involved in my medical care. read more

Terrible, first my doctor send a referral letter to book an appointment, after two weeks they told me than my case has not been review yet and each case has to be studied before an appointment. Ok it seems serious . I finally hit an au gor ; months later. When I got there , after waiting 1 hour I was dismissed in 2 minutes by a doctor who ask me why I was there? I had already have my diagnosis from 20 years ago and they is nothing new they can do . No research had been done for HETEDITARY Spastic PARAPLEGYA. Do shy gif you study my case , for 3 weeks, gave me an appointment to tell me after all this time . Nothing we can do . And my doctor referring me to them did not know what he was talking about . The office staff are horrible so unorganized. I am sure the doctors are very good. Every time I call the office, they have lost my insurance referral. If I give the insurance authorization number they don't believe me. My referring doctor even called Dr. Hussain who said he wanted to see me because of rare medical condition. Dr. Hussain specifically told my doctor to have me make an appointment with him because of my rare disease. When I told the office staff the message, they said they had no record, would not contact the doctor or supervisor and basically called me a liar. I asked for clinic link so I could give them my clinical records since I just moved here from Houston. The staff member could not spell mail correctly and I could not get the link. The staff member spelled gmail "gmaiil". I have asked to speak to a supervisor but get transferred to a voicemail and have not yet spoken to one supervisor. The staff pretty much refuses to let me speak to a supervisor. Today July 10, 2026 at 2:45 pm I was told they are trying to get medical records from my PCP who just did insurance referral when I specifically told them my clinical records are in Houston. My PCP is not the doctor who talked to Dr. Hussain, did the testing or referred to Dr. Hussain. The staff just doesn't get it, they have major malfunction in communication, poor organization and right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. I am going in on two weeks trying to get an appointment. I am going to have to drive over one hour to the clinic and hand deliver my clinical records hoping they will not loose the records. I don't know if I trust an office that is so disorganized with my medical care, it is scary! read more

Unprofessional and dishonest billing practices- avoid! I had a terrible experience at this clinic. After paying $500 out of pocket for an appointment, I was shocked to receive an additional $150 bill with no prior warning. I had confirmed multiple times with the staff prior to the appointment that the cost would be $500, and no one ever mentioned any additional charges. When I called the billing center, they were unhelpful and rude, and when I spoke to the clinic manager, I was given the ridiculous explanation: "if the doctor saw you, it's more expensive." This is absurd and feels like a clear attempt to scam patients. I was promised a resolution to this 3 weeks ago and had since called them several times just to receive a "we don't have a solution yet" response... There were no additional procedures, no explanation of extra charges during my appointment, and no transparency at all. This is a clinic that lacks basic professionalism and integrity. I will never be returning... which is really sad because I was looking forward to finally seeing a specialist. If you value honest and clear billing practices, look elsewhere. read more

I'll start with you can NOT get a hold of anyone here. You will sit on hold for 10 minutes and then the phone system will hang up on you. Their portal is a joke. It will take them a full two days to respond and this is all after they don't work Fridays and are not available at all even during business hours. I went for nerve damage and Dr Reddy ordered a scan. Then he order 3 more and cancelled the first scan without telling me (this is after I booked the first scan) and blamed ARA - I called ARA myself and spoke to the tech and the first scan was correct. I am NOT a doctor and I had to do the leg work or my tests would have been delayed by weeks. Not good for nerve damage and they had absolutely no concern for my wellbeing. Please did yourself a favor - Avoid at all costs. read more

Finding Dr. Reddy at Austin Neuromuscular was like winning the lottery! With a minimal number of tests, he properly diagnosed my husband after several other doctors were unable to. Not only is Dr. Reddy a great listener, but he remembers even the smallest detail which makes him unusually skilled at patient care. He is friendly and kind and and we've never felt rushed during appointments. Without Dr. Reddy, we might still be searching for a proper diagnosis, but thanks to his knowledge and determination, he solved the puzzle of my husband's ill health. read more

It's taken me a long time to write this review but I feel like my experience was so inappropriate I want others to know. First I spoke to the only doctor at the practice for a total of 3 min across 5+ appointments. I was diagnosed with a full nerve disorder while under their care and the doctor never even broke the news. Secondary the NP Casey has the worst bedside manner of anyone in the medical field I have ever experienced. She over stepped multiple time in ways that were not within her scope...as someone in the medical field I never discount a NP over a DR but honestly a residency would do her well. She told me on two separate occasions she believed something another neuro DR said was untrue and questioned previous tests for "false positives" in addition to every test I had come back positive under her she questioned because my 'symptoms didn't make sense'... okay fine but when I asked what to do she told me I was basically out of luck and 'sorry this is going to be a long painful disease' She was NEVER prepared for our apts and could not keep straight my chart. At one point she asked me if I had a test done that SHE ordered. It was beyond amateur hour and I left every apt crying because I felt helpless. Third idk what is going on in that office but they need to realize they have 0 sound proofing. My first apt I showed up and was very nervous and asked to use the bathroom right when I arrived. When I was leaving I could hear the staff laughing and making fun of people who ask to use the bathroom when they arrive because it's such an inconvenience to them, that kinda broke my heart and I felt so embarrassed. The second time I showed up and was sitting in their waiting room where a piece of plastic separates the "staff area" and the seating area. While waiting I just listened to the staff gossip and talk bad about their patients, I heard WAY too much than I ever wanted to know about a patients insurance and how they were annoyed the patient kept calling for test results and were discussing the patients condition and how they were 'young so didn't know how the world worked'.... like it's beyond inappropriate.... One thing they are very good at is making sure you pay so idk it's just so sad this center was a place I thought would help me and I really feel like I left worse than I came, more confused, more broke and more disheartened with the system. read more

I'm indifferent with this practice. I never really got to work with the doctor even when requested. I had a nurse practitioner. She said my dysautonomia testing came back normal even though I felt terrible during it. I wake up nightly with huge adrenalin dumps, so something is obviously wrong. But no answers. read more

TLDR: Broke state and federal law, cost me several hundreds of dollars in lost income, trying to make me pay money I don't owe, screwed up medical records, didn't honor appointment, gave conflicting medical advice, and didn't diagnose me with something I had. File a complaint with the Texas Medical Board at https://www.tmb.state.tx.us/page/place-a-complaint ~~~~~ Shailesh Reddy neglected to note the meds I was to hold for my TTT (tilt table test). I held these meds as instructed, despite it costing me several hundreds of dollars in lost income because I can't work without those meds, only for ANC to not honor their appointment. Upon getting unnecessarily rescheduled for my TTT, they admitted that this important information was left out of my records. I was also given conflicting information on what meds to hold the second time, but it still cost me several hundred dollars in lost income for the same reason. Shailesh Reddy did not diagnose me with POTS despite (to my understanding) my symptoms and results meeting the Dysautonomia International criteria. He was unable or unwilling to explain in a way I understood, just saying that there were artifacts and that one just needs to look at the graph. I got a second opinion and with that, a POTS diagnosis. I requested my records via fax on Sept 14, 2022 and via patient portal on Sept 16, 2022 but as of Oct 31, 2022, I have not received them. This is beyond both the Federal law timeframe of 30 days and the Texas state law timeframe of 15 business days. I have also met my out of pocket maximum and despite this, ANC is still hounding me for money that I don't owe. Again, I urge others that have been harmed by ANC to file a complaint with the Texas Medical Board at https://www.tmb.state.tx.us/page/place-a-complaint Random side note: you can ignore that sign about weapons. The law referenced is about residential trespassing. Someone didn't do their homework. read more

Have spent weeks trying to get ahold of them. I still haven't spoken to a single person. I'm on hold for over 10 minutes and the line always hangs up on its own after a certain angle of time. Do not go for POTS support--it is a terrible experience. They were quite willing to have me pay for testing to be done for POTS and then give me a 1-page piece of paper listing recommendations you can find online. Then, when I went to book a follow-up telehealth appointment, they acted like it was not possible without another visit. I had testing in January!! I will not be going back. If you have POTS do not go to this place. I was told on the phone today they do not treat POTS. Good to know! read more

What a disappointment. After years of itching and intermittent thigh numbness, I wanted to see a professional for nerve issues. I was told Meralgia paresthetica from a chiro. After a consultation with Dr. Hussain, he recommended getting an MRI to make sure. So $1,200 MRI. Oh well, at least I now know what it is, yup, MP as expected by all. This isn't the complaint. What irks me is that he has no remedy or idea what to do about this. And charged $430 for a 10 minute consultation to tell me that. Sure, I get a recommendation to see another doctor to get a shot numbing my entire thigh temporarily, but I went through these hoops for no real treatment and no recommended exercises or stretches (none). read more

My name is "Brenda Haas Villalta and I saw Dr Hussain for the first time about 3 years ago for an idiopathic falling disorder. I saw several doctors and he was the only one that had the right diagnosis within 15 minutes of our conversation and knew exactly what I was saying and talking about. He even described it and stood up and showed me what should be happening when I fall and I said yes that's exactly right. so all the way up until now three years later, I'm seeing him again for another but separate muscle disorder. It was caused by a medication called Evenity that I took for eight months. I have permanent nerve damage and neuropathy in both both lower Lakes feet and left arm and hands. I have so much trust in this Dr he has so much training under his belt. You have to read his bio. It is beyond impressive. He has a wonderful bedside manner, and he'll let you talk for hours if you have to. He never rushes you. All the people I interacted with were very kind. Beautifully clean office they have they also have an IV suite to do IV treatments. I know that this doctor is the answer to all my problems and will help me live the best life possible even after all this damage has been done. I recommend him highly to everyone who has a muscle disorder or a neurological disorder. By the way, my name is Brenda Haas Villalta. I forgot to mention it in the beginning. read more

This place is so amazing! I've been having health issues for close to a decade without any really help from professionals. I was constantly brushed off and gaslit. The second I stepped foot into this office I felt a breath of relief go through me. On the front desk, there were 2 zen gardens and rainbow flags all over! Once I was checked in, I was ushered into the waiting area which was clean and comfortable. When they called me back and did the vitals and such I felt very heard and safe. The nurse who checked my weight kept it in KG, and asked if I wanted to see it in LBS! He asked and didn't just show me! Making it into the room it was slightly smaller than I thought it would be, but big enough for me, the nurse, and my mom. The very first thing that I noticed was that every single person who worked there was using my proper pronouns! That was just so amazing, and was a breath of fresh of fresh air. The doctor was so understanding, and she listened to everything I had to say. She heard all of my concerns was able to help me understand what testing we will do to help narrow things down, and she helped me understand what she thought was going on! She never once gave any indication that she didn't care about what I was saying, or didn't believe me, or any other number of things. While that may seem normal, when you're chronically ill with no diagnosis, it's common for doctors to brush you off as drug seeking or whatever. I loved it here, and when I say I won't ever get a difference neurologist, I'm not lying! Go to this place if you have POTS or any other disorder. They will actually listen to you and not brush you off! read more

First off Dr. Hussain has an extremely helpful and very friendly staff... Manda answers my calls and emails same day going above and beyond to help me :-) Dr. Hussain knows all my health issues without thumbing thru my thick chart like my other doctors have to do. He listens when I talk and takes the time to answer my questions and explain everything. He's never rushed which is hard to believe since he's never late for my appointment. He cares for his patients as people. Extremely friendly!! I trust him with ALL my neurologic and medical needs. Highly recommend the doctor and his staff!! read more

I swore I wouldn't write a doctor review on Yelp, but the experience was bad enough that it warrants one. Dr Hussain is a solid, knowledgeable and empathetic doctor and made his evaluation report available to me far sooner than I had expected. He takes the time to listen to his patients, alleviate concerns, and explain what's going on. He exceeded all of my expectations. That's about it for the positives; everything else about his practice is truly horrible. It's difficult to get an appointment, almost impossible to talk to a person in the event of an issue unless you "lie" when following the phone system's prompting, and they are non-responsive on follow-ups via their online portal. The office staff and nurse practitioner are particularly bad, almost as much as their online portal. It's confusing, difficult to use, and sometimes doesn't send messages, which would be an inconvenience if the office responded to phone calls and messages. It's also a weird link, so if you do use the portal, make sure to bookmark it since it's not easy to remember. If I didn't need someone with his specific specialties, I would've gone somewhere else. I'm dreading going back for a follow-up. read more

I realize there are not many neuromuscular doctors to choose from, so beggars can't be choosers. I wish I could be. The place is hard to find and there isn't proper signage. The office is very nice, though. Dr. Hussain didn't even bother to show up for my first appt. It turned out he wasn't even in town. He had a nurse do all of my testing and she had another nurse do part of the testing for her. The nurse told me they had to cancel the appt after mine (I don't know why she would bother to share that info with me), but then she wouldn't tell me why they had to cancel it. My second appt was cancelled because Dr. Hussain was called in for an emergency biopsy. Biopsies aren't emergencies. They are always scheduled a week or two out. I had rearranged childcare and work. It was a huge pain and then I had to do it all again the next day. I finally did a telemedicine appt with Dr. Hussain to get my test results. I'd say it was the first time I ever saw his face, but he only had the camera pointed at the top half of his face. $80 in co-pays and 5 hours of missed work to only see half of his face for 12 minutes for him to refer me to a different specialist. What a waste of time and energy! read more

I recently had an appointment at the new location. Parking is SO much better than at the prior location, but the building at the new location is a lot of sterile gray decor. This clinic diagnosed me with neuropathy and POTS. They then had me see Dr. Machemehl. Worst appt I have had. She belittled me and didn't listen to a single thing I would say. She was upset my mom was also there even though I had barely just turned 18. She didn't understand why I was on meds and didn't believe the diagnosis even though her clinic is the one that diagnosed me and put me on all the meds. She came in and prejudged the situation making me feel worse than I felt before I came in. I won't be returning to see her. read more

UPDATE: I went to a doctor who doesn't do her job solely for her paycheck, unlike Dr Reddy. And she actually listened to my symptoms, asked me questions, and didn't solely look at past notes and GUESS WHAT?! I was diagnosed with a neurological problem and nerve damage. So thanks for nothing Dr Reddy. Glad I didn't take your awful advice and referrals!! I would seriously urge you to reconsider your profession or go back and learn how to do your job right this time!! Dr Reddy will only look at the notes from a previous doctor and not listen to one single thing you describe about your symptoms. Even after you tell him that past doctor did nothing to help you and didn't listen to your symptoms. He will also yawn multiple times while you're speaking (thinking you can't tell through the mask) and certainly make you feel like your the last patient of the day. He will ignore any new symptoms you speak of if they aren't written on your referral even though your referral is from a month ago and it's very very very common for new symptoms to arise. If you're a woman and express any type of symptoms related to your reproductive system he will ignore you and tell you to talk to your gyno about it. Please avoid this man unless you have very very very very very very very obvious symptoms and he can give you a diagnosis without having to do any research or ask any probing questions. Lazy and unprofessional. He also asked if I thought medical cannabis would help (I'm not a doctor...) when I asked for his MEDICAL OPINION if he thought that would work. He said "I don't know" So WHY bring it up? Avoid this "professional" read more

I never feel like he dismisses my concern or that my questions are not valid. I like that when i have a problem in between visits, he will trying something different to resolve it. My wife was having some health issues and Dr. Hussain was one of the best doctors that she has gone to. He is very thorough with his exams and knowledgable about even very rare conditions. He also listens very carefully to your story and tries his best to help you. Best of all, it doesn't seem like he's in a rush. He gives you his full undivided attention, but you rarely have to wait a long time before you see him unlike some other neurologist offices. The other staff in his office are extremely friendly and they make going to the office visit a pleasant, hopeful experience. He has recently moved to a location in central Austin which makes it more convenient. Highly recommend going to this neuromuscular doctor! read more

I wish Mandy was still at Dr. Hussain's office. Michael C. never called back, and proceeded to email me, and the messages had no continuity to the issue at hand. I have had three appointments here, including an EMG, and I honestly don't get the negative reviews here. Dr. Hussain has always been kind, caring, and compassionate with me. He takes time to answer your questions and will be honest if he doesn't know something. I never got an attitude from him that he was a "know-it-all" like some reviewers claim. During my EMG he explained thoroughly what was going on and gave me ample warning when things were going to be more painful. He was kind during those painful parts and I felt like he cared. He also told me he tests the EMG machines on himself so he knows what it is like to have the procedure done. In two of my appointments I was examined first by residents studying under Dr. Hussain. They were both highly professional and did a great job. One was present during my EMG and Dr. Hussain was explaining my results to the intern as he went along, and you could tell he enjoyed teaching. Here's another positive - I have never had to wait months for an appointment like I did with Cedar Park Neurology. In fact, this week I was able to get a next-day appointment. If I had any complaint it is that the office staff does not answer phones in the afternoon. Call before noon to get a live person. They will call you back in the afternoon, I've just never been able to call in get them on the phone after noon. read more

The doctor was in a bad mood when the appointment started since his examining room was too warm for him and my daughter's appointment got worse from there. We had high hopes for this doctor, but it seems we had done too much research and had a good idea of what was wrong with her already and that made him irritable. He asked questions, but gave no feedback when she or I responded. He told us a certain test needed to be done, that it provided completely objective results, but it could be negative and then he didn't know what to tell us (implying it was a psychological illness, it seemed to both of us). (In clinical studies, that particular test is not always accurate for the disease, and time of day is a factor.) He also told my daughter to follow exactly his written directions for preparing for the test (handing me a piece of paper), but when I pointed out they contradicted what he had just told her, he said the written directions were for other patients and she should obey what he just said instead. The whole visit was very upsetting for my daughter, and she is the one who needs care. After dozens of other things have been ruled out by other doctors and after another specialist in a related field thought this disease was very likely, we know this is the right direction. We will head to Houston for diagnosis and treatment. BTW, I liked all the staff. Very friendly and helpful. Maybe the doctor was having a no good, very bad day? We'll never know. read more

Dr Hussain is not thorough. He has a terrbible bedside manner. He does not do a thorough workup, misdiagnosed, and fails to treat in a timely fashion. I am a stroke survivor (age 43) and have seen 6 neurologists since 2013. Most of these left me wanting to cry, scream or at least wish I had never met them. Dr. Hussain's focus isn't strokes but he is by far the best I have met. I wanted to hug him after my first visit and after each visit after that. I have dysautonomia as a result of my stroke and he is amazing at testing, diagnosis and helping me deal with this. He only accepts patients via referral so there may be a little work to get an appointment but it means he only treats those who need his expertise. The wait to get a new patient appointment was about 2 weeks and follow up appointments are very easy to get. The one thing that makes this a 5-star review is that when I am in the office, he listens and he is very aware of my history.
