We can find something fun here to do always although it's a library. They have a website that you can go on to see the library activities and it's for most of the libraries in the woodlands area. As with all libraries they have different sections for each age groups, downstairs is for the young kids and pre teens and upstairs is for older and adults. They have sitting areas in the lobby where we'll have our snacks. We come here on school holidays and days off to chill and relax read a few books and play. The toddlers love it here, with the play kitchen and mats with blocks and puzzles. They also have baby dolls and cribs for them to play and interact. Adequate seating area for parents to watch their kids and even to grab a book and read while they play. For me it's half hour away from home but it's always worth the drive.

Our son read over six books during our hour and a half visit (a personal record!), and when he needed a break, there were plenty of fun options to keep him engaged--coloring stations, computer games, and even a few toys to play with. It's been quite a while since I personally spent time in a library, and I have to say this experience reminded me why libraries are such gems in the community. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was peaceful, and it was just the right size--not overwhelming but still full of options. Pros: Great location, convenient hours, friendly staff, quiet atmosphere, and the perfect size for families. Cons: Some areas feel a bit outdated, and it seems a few visitors use it more like a daycare or indoor play spot than a library. Overall, a solid 4-star experience. I was fortunate to be in the vicinity of Willis and this library branch. I was here for over two hours time morning at a somewhat comfortable table where I powered up both laptops and spent some time connected to work on VPN. The library was peaceful and quiet, the wifi worked very well and I had a very pleasant visit. While you do need to be a resident and have a library card to check out materials, anyone is welcome to use the facility, resident or otherwise. Awesome. They have the books sorted by category such as sports, history, colors, and just so much more. You are allowed to check out 30 books at once. We checked out about 20. Watch your step as you explore because several time I stepped off a small step too hard because I was looking around in awe and not watching where I was walking. I recently moved to Texas to be closer to my parents and to start work being that I am graduating in June. I'm using the library as my second place of residence for the next 6 weeks so I can before for my board exams. The library is very new and is stock full of great books, magazines, movies, computers, and lots of comfy chairs and tables to use. There is plenty of help if you can't find what your looking for and there is a great section for children. Each day there are different classes you can take from computer 101 to art classes. My favorite part of the library is the view of Memory Lake. Memory Lake has been built in remembrance of loved ones who have since passed away. There are many flowers, trees, benches, and walkways dedicated to these special people who are now in Heaven. The wild life and habitats throughout the lake make this a great place to walk your dog, take your children for walks, and to learn about all the different animals, plants, and trees that make up the area. Each day I take my lunch break from studying to explore a new section. I would recommend stopping by here to check out a DVD, catch up on the morning paper and to take a stroll around the lake.

Suburban H-town libraries - 2 of 2 - Far north end…read more If any library review needs a tag line, it's this one - the Kingwood Branch Library. As you drive up to it and park, it may portend disappointment, but "Don't Judge a Book by its Cover." Let me explain. Kingwood is a master planned community that has some cachet, containing many named and themed neighborhoods, and it is the farthest northeasterly tentacle of the city of Houston. However, as you approach this library, you are looking at the short side of a big rectangle. The library entrance is reached by following a trellised path down its side. Then, when you turn and enter the library, you finally realize it's a substantial two level facility. Most of the key areas in the Kingwood Branch Library are upstairs. This would include the stacks, open study areas with tables, study rooms, computers, and very comfortable lounge-like reading areas, the latter of which will not be suitable for "lounge lizards." Downstairs, one finds circulation, a children's area, community rooms, restrooms, and even a used bookstore. However, with its high ceilings and big windows, the upstairs makes for a very likable place to be. With Kingwood branding itself as the "livable forest," the windows bring in the abundant verdant aspects of this area and, even if ridiculously hot outside, provide a soothing feeling inside. This is a fitting library for this relatively newer area. The staff at this library is very helpful. They were on point with helping me with my low maintenance needs ... and did so with a smile! Another thing to note is a bureaucratic issue that might confuse some. Since it is within the city of Houston proper, one might think it's a branch of the Houston Public Library (HPL). It is not, although there are many HPL branches. Instead, the library in Kingwood is part of the Harris County Public Library system. That said, some of the libraries in H-town will be HPL libraries, while others in the city, and in nearby municipalities, will be in the Harris County Public Library system. They are not one and the same.

It is open post Covid and they do have their hours and contact info updated on their website. I was looking for a quiet place to get some work done and do some reading.
