I stopped by and was greeted by the cheerful diva seated on the throne in their website photo, who enthusiastically inquired if I was there to purchase a gift certificate. Her demeanor did a 180 when I said, no, I was there to see if they would honor an expired gift certificate I had purchased for my wife ( 90 min massage + pre-paid $50 gratuity)Her reply was, no, they only honor them for a year. Business , expiration date, I get it. I explained that I understood, but was hoping that due to pandemic closures, her stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis, followed by losing our house to Sally, followed by 16 weeks of chemo while homeless, followed by a double mastectomy (in Birmingham), followed by 6 weeks of recovery, followed by another 6 weeks of radiation (also at UAB), my wife was unable during that period, to receive a massage and would she reconsider their policy. Same fake smile, same answer....Sorry. As a former massage therapist myself, it's disheartening,sickening actually, to see the lack of compassion and sensitivity in a business (owner) who's practice should be based on those very things. read more
