Their website hasn't been properly updated since 2020, so how accurate are they in instructing kids?

Very professional and moved my granddaughter through the driving and observation part of the course at an above average amount of time.

Luann brought me quickly and painlessly from hesitantly driving on empty neighborhood streets to driving on the highway with confidence.

I learned to drive with Robert at ABC Driving School in 2008, and I still think about what that…read moreexperience gave me - over 100,000 miles later. Before that, I'd had some rough experiences: An instructor in Dubai who yelled at me and ran errands during class time--then called me "bathmeez" (rude) when I asked her to stay on task. A Craigslist instructor in Austin who dropped me mid-lesson for calmly asking not to be shouted at. Being a young woman who looked even younger -- and dared to set boundaries - meant I was often treated like I didn't belong behind the wheel. Then I found Robert. He was calm, patient, and never once made me feel small for learning. His steady presence helped me rebuild confidence and feel safe behind the wheel. I passed my road test on the first try--and more importantly, I've been driving confidently ever since. I didn't leave a review back then, but I'm writing one now--because sometimes the things that shape us most don't get acknowledged in real time. Thank you, Robert. I still drive with the confidence you helped build.

I consider this as fraud to sign someone up for an unrelated service (just because it has to do with cars?) just because you signed up for their class. If you don't catch it on your credit card statement you'll be paying it forever because of how they charge it. It'll follow your credit card account even if you cancel that number and get a new one issued.

They are also very knowledgeable and patient and I was able to learn and pass my test thanks to their expertise and experience. Brandi was my main instructor and she was absolutely great. I also had Elias and Hector and they were very nice and easy to work with as well. Also shout out to Yolanda and Nalani for making booking and processing so smooth and easy. Overall, a great bunch of people and a complete pleasure to work with!

I am not a Christian. I did not sign up for a religious experience. If I wanted spiritual guidance, I would have gone to church, which I won't, because that is simply not who I am. Teach me to drive. That is literally your one job. George is also arrogant, acrimonious and loves to moralize at you like you are sitting in his congregation. It was unprofessional, uncomfortable and frankly offensive. Keep your religious views to yourself, this is a driving school not a place of worship. The cars are another story altogether. Ancient, dirty and falling apart. Every single lesson I was just hoping the car would survive long enough to get me back. It was embarrassing honestly, let alone unsafe. I walked away after spending so much money having learned absolutely nothing about driving. Not one useful thing. I joined Coastline Academy shortly after and the difference is night and day. Being there has shown me exactly how much this school dropped the ball and how little they actually care about teaching you anything. Avoid this scrapyard of a place. Seriously. Go anywhere else.

I TRIED to attend a class at Mangia's pizza on Sunday. Since there were only 2 of us there, class didn't go on. Luckily I have another month to take a class, unlike the other woman who showed up. She was very upset, as she had called earlier in the week and was told that this class would be happening. When said class didn't occur, she was understandably very upset since her court date was the next day. In a nutshell, don't go expecting to take the class. Class enrollment for this place is very low, and whether or not the class goes on is contingent upon the number of students that show up. Too bad, I would have liked having Mangia's for lunch.

Win, Lose, Win!! Well, let me set this up for you..... I…read morenever win anything! But, on this beautiful fall afternoon I finally won something! You see, I was driving by myself, radio thumpin, and windows down in my teenager taxi, AKA swagger wagon (mini van.) I looked over at the driver to my right, while idling at the red light. The young man in the sports car beside me, looked at the red light, then back at me, and gave an ever so gentle nod with his head, which everyone knows is the universal signal for "Let's do this"! So when the light turned green I hit the gas..... I felt so free and young, dong 48 MPH in a 45 speed limit! Wow, what a rush of adrenaline! As I approached the next intersection the light was red and he was clearly seconds behind me! We made eye contact again, he nods, the light turns green and we're off!! I'm in the lead again, we're both side by side inching our way closer to the next intersection. I'm pushing 52 MPH and he's gaining on me, so I put the petal to the metal and hit 55 MPH! Yay, I'm in the lead..... I'm winning the race.... and then..... I see the Big black and white Austin Police Suburban turn his lights on and pull behind me! What an immediate FUN-KILL! I lost! (doing 55 MPH in a 45) Now, it's time to face real-life consequences for my joy ride, (speeding down Manchaca rd.) Nothing about this is fun! I paid the courts an arm and a leg to allow me permission to take defensive driving class of my choice, UGH! Then, there's having to squeeze the course into one of my busy hectic weeks (who has time for this stuff, anyway?) AND.... by the way, there's multiple defensive driving school choices, 6 hours can be really long, or fly by. I could have taken an online class at home, but really how much fun would that have been? My children would have interrupted me every 5 seconds guaranteed: mom, ma, mom, maa-aaa, maa-aa-am, mom, mom, mom, maaaa.... imagine a bunch of goats, you get the picture! I'm a Winner again! I found Terry Lee's, Wide Awake Defensive Driving School on the internet. He sold me on the FREE Mr. Gattis pizza buffet on your second night of class! I thought to myself, I'll be away from home for 2 nights, surrounded by other pizza-loving, fast-driving adults, information I obviously need, and best of all....no goat sounding children to bother me! Choosing Wide Awake was the BEST adult decision I've made in a while! Terry Lee is a great facilitator! He comes dressed in these adorable suspenders, he has a unique belly laugh (the best), and a genuine passion to give information to keep people safe! Terry Lee has so much information to give there's barely enough time to present it, but he does and before you know it, it's time to go back home! Listen, you eat pizza, you watch a couple of videos, listen, discuss, and take a test! Easy Peasy! I also received my certificate in 2 days, which was great considering I procrastinated until the last possible week, I don't recommend this! Terry Lee also gives you FREE Capital City Comedy Club tickets as a complimentary gift for completing his course. (That's going to be my next Super Cool Date night with my husband.... Thanks, Terry Lee!) *But, I do have to add...... I was downtown not too long ago after my class with Terry Lee and happened to run into him, you guys are not going to believe this.... his adorable signature fashion statement (suspenders) is not a costume he wears as part of his comedy act....oh no, he's devoted in a good way people! First, I hear his laugh (which is real too) it makes me turn in his direction, then I see his outfit and know it's him! I shake his hand re-introducing myself to remind him I took his class recently. He remembered me and we politely exchanged some chit-chat! I love this guy even more now! Take his class, you won't be sorry!

We attempted to have her take the behind the wheel course, but Mr. Armstrong was never available. After 6 weeks of trying to coordinate our schedules, we gave up and asked for a refund - which he angrily refused to do. I had to take it up as a dispute with my credit card, which I won. We transferred to another school for the driving instruction. Now, Mr. Armstrong REFUSES to release her certificate to to the new school after more than a year of repeated requests - all of which he has ignored. So, I am filing a complaint with the TDLR. We'll see how long that takes. Meanwhile my daughter is ready to take the driving exam, and he is holding everything up. AVOID HEAD START AT ALL COSTS!!
