I, her husband, actually participated in this Operating Room procedure. We were treated with great respect, my wife's dignity was protected at all times, and the staff was great ! We had a nurse assigned to my wife to start the IV for surgery, and later do our discharge papers. Her name was, Mindy and she was a breath of sunshine. She smiled, was friendly, humorous, knowledgeable, and made us feel like family. A true credit to the nursing field !!!

The first thing I had them check on was the eligibility of my health insurance. They assured me that they accepted my insurances do it would cover 100% of the charges after a $500 deductible was met. So we scheduled the surgery for the next week. Upon reporting for surgery they took payment for the deductible, again confining that my insurance would cover it and the procedure was done. Now 10 weeks later I get a bill for the full amount due with a note that the claim was denied. I am beyond furious. I will say that the surgery ended up positive except for the fact I was not at all counseled to deal with the very long and difficult recovery process. I'll amend this review after I see how they intend to rectify this injustice.

I've had…read morefamily members be hospitalized here both in the med center and the rehab across the turnaround entrance, and when I come to visit I sometimes pop into the cafeteria to get something before going to see them. They have several parking garages that offer short term parking for free (like 30 min or less), but otherwise unless you have validation, you do have to pay. The spots are kind of small and so are the signs in the parking garage, so pay close attention to make sure you're driving in the right place. Overall though, this is a pretty good med center in my opinion that offers most of the major medical subspecialties you may need for your care. The inpatient rehab is also one of the best in Austin, and they are one of the only facilities that offers a driving test if there's a medical concern for someone's safety re: driving (e.g. in a patient with cognitive impairment/early dementia).

I have been in healthcare almost my entire life. When I moved to Austin I engaged with an Internist…read moreand was fairly satisfied until realizing she was not looking at my 'whole self'. I was working and stressed so much I just did not have the energy to look elsewhere but realized I really needed a change. Late last year I began looking for that change to a new provider and found Flora Medical Clinic. Again, I have had an intimate professional healthcare background and experienced many healthcare providers in my life but there are unfortunately too few who really care about their patients, listen and provide interest, guidance and explanation regarding why healthcare advice is being given. Dr. Kolte is one in a million. She challenges me to be what I have looked for to tackle my few health issues and her nutritional guidance is amazing. She cannot do this on her own so YOU need to listen and be willing to try, try, try. On top of Dr. Kolte's great professional and caring nature she then has a staff who is responsive, professional and kind. My last Internist I was lucky to get a phone call returned and the front desk receptionist always appeared unhappy. I am slowly making changes in my nutritional foundation to improve my health. I thought I was eating healthy and was doing what I was told over the last several years which is opposite of what I am now being guided towards a better nutritional way of thinking. Hey, we live in the South, I traveled so much for work (lots of restaurant food) but now retired early to finally focus on me. Dr. Kolte and her team are amazing. I always feel like someone cares when I leave my office visits. Folks, that is rare in today's healthcare world. I know. I have seen it across the states. Patience, caring, listening and allows questions. THAT is what makes her great. Namaste.

Dr Kholte is the very best doctor one could hope. I was the biggest skeptic you can imagine before I really had a close experience with the hospital…read more I questioned everything from their drugs to processes. Everything in a hospital in my mind was tied to liability and not with the intention to cure the patient. This is still true to a certain extent but I had a really eye opening experience with St. David's women's center during the birth of my first child. Firstly, I can't speak any more positively about the nurses; Super qualified, very patient, living and truly caring. My wife had a 48 hour labor and we had the opportunity to interact with 5 shifts of nurses. They were all so caring and amazing. They do 90% of the work in the hospital. Everything from paperwork, tests, drug administration, testing to getting the patient food, water, pillows etc. they are at your service 24x7. They serve everyone without a grudge or any judgement. They are simply noble people doing God's work. God bless them. Secondly, St David's has the best doctors and any and all doctors you might need. Of course, we all appreciate nurses, but wait until you see a doctor perform a surgery and it is clear why are they get paid wayyyy more. We had super qualified and experienced pediatricians, anesthetists and obstetricians visit us during our stay. They were all very professional, explained our rights and choices very well and didnt seem like they wanted to push extra drugs or procedures at all. Since then, as you might expect, we have also been to the Children's ER a couple of times and we have the same feedback for the doctors and nurses there. Moreover, St. Davids has a very decent cafeteria downstairs and a pretty decent room service menu as well. Few areas of opportunity are that the post par-tum rooms, refreshments and being eco friendly. The post par-tum rooms are a little small - especially if you have family visiting. Also, the hospital has a huge carbon foot print; every where there is widespread plastic and Styrofoam use, not to mention the necessary medical waste (latex gloves, sanitary wear, plastic protective gear, syringes, ivy bags etc.) Everything goes straight into the landfill waste and I saw absolutely no attempt to recycle or reuse. Lastly, the refreshment corner on each floor of the hospital (they call it "Nourishment") is a joke - it has cheap quality Popsicles, grocery store cookies and some sugary juices. There was nothing fresh or nutritional in there. I wish St. Davids who justifiably make tons of money can make some much needed improvements there.

We were taken to a room within 5 minutes and greeted by two nurses who immediately began consultation and setting up the IV. I love how quick the discharge process was -- they make it so simple for you. Shoutout to Colin and Sherry, they are the best nurses we have come across and that says a lot given we are in an ER every few months. They are very great at making you feel heard and overall just amazingly nice people. The best of the best. Dr. Wright was very knowledgeable and just as respectful/nice as the nurses. Dr. Wright spent the time with us that a lot of medical providers fail to do. He explained options, possible effects, and helped us with decision making. He never made us feel like he was in a rush. He listened and advised. Thank you for that. Overall, we were taken very good care of at Vik Complete Care and will certainly choose this location in the future.
