Man oh man, my wife and I are laughing at the mostly sad reviews of this bank. We are moving here just outside of Frankston and coming from a horrible "blue" state out west. We are retiring out here from the "big city." Let me tell you, most of you people complaining here really add credence to the term of "hicks!" Half of you can't spell, nor form even a proper sentence without sounding like some ignorant hillbillies living out of a van down by the river! So my experience with this bank in Frankston was A+! We are opening an account here at this bank and they've been nothing but polite, pleasant and utterly professional! The employees seem to follow the rules of how banking is regulated and done in this country. Many complainers here just don't understand how a bank must have certain safeguards and procedures to protect not only their own customers, but their business as well. So stop with all the unwarranted hate and maybe get to know your bankers a little bit more. It might help change your attitude for the better. This bank branch in Frankston is outstanding. They helped us several times and even before we ever opened an account there. We look forward to establishing a relationship with this nice customer oriented bank in the future. read more

Service is very lacking! I have the same charged come thru every month for my business They consider sone charges fraud every month if they new you as a customer they would recognize this! Also deposit larger checks from the same reputable customers every month They don't want to give you credit ! Just remember it's not personal They don't even no who you are you just a number. Hit my Account with $4600 in Bank holds, refuse to provide any paperwork such as court documents as to why they think they are entitled. Also Filed an injunction with US court ordering them to cease any and all withholdings, until we meet in court. They have completely ignored all court orders. read more

We started banking with Austin Bank in 2007 and used them until we moved in 2015. Once we came back home to Tyler in 2020 we went right back to Austin Bank based on our past experience. This bank does not feel the way it did previously. We've not had any major problems but quite a few minor ones that have piled up and it makes it feels so frustrating. We have a business and personal accounts here and are getting ready to leave it for a smaller bank that feels more personal. read more

Poor customer service, poor communication. After 20 plus years of banking with Austin Bank they have finally pushed me over the edge. I will be closing all of my accounts with them. I often get paid a day or two early and they refuse to deposit my check until the date on the check... they are in the banking business and know that when a check is put into circulation it can be cashed. In fact, they have cleared a post dated check through my account that the vendor deposited in error and thats when they informed me that when I write a check it can be cashed. I have been fighting this battle for at least 6 years. It's hit and miss whether they will deposit my payroll check or not but my co workers have no problem making their deposits in other banks. This week, after they refused my online deposit because the check was dated two days ahead. I made another online deposit the date the check is dated and now customer service is telling me it will be two business days before they can post the deposit to my account because it's over the $500. limit. And they say I can't take it to the bank and make a deposit today because I already tried to deposit it online. I used to use the app for deposits before it quit working with my phone. Now it's working again and I thought I would try it. I NEVER had a problem before, my deposits were posted the same day and it was ALWAYS over $500. Sue Hall read more

Rudest employees ever. They speak to my husband like he is a child. My husband has cancer and his voice is shot. The employees act like he has the plague. We received a check to help with bills and they told him they were holding it for 7 days because we were overdrawn. I bank with Southside with my personal account and never have been treated the way this bank treats people. The minute this greedy establishment clears our check we will be withdrawing our money and going elsewhere. This isn't the first incident we have had here dealing with poor customer service. read more

Several weeks ago I was headed to Tyler to open a new account for a business I am launching in January 2019. I had heard the advertisements for Austin Bank on KTBB radio, and liked what I have heard. I pulled over and checked the bank out, particularly the location on Old Bullard, and read the "one star" reviews from "Sweetness", Patrick, and Debra. Patrick's and Debra's are obviously personal grudges about work issues. When I read Sweetness complaining about Debbie Finley's questions, I knew the review was based on misunderstanding - Debbie was asking questions required to open an account at any bank - these are safeguards introduced by the Feds to interdict money laundering, drug revenue, terrorist funding, and other forms of fraud. I went to the bank and specifically asked for Debbie Finley. She asked me the same questions and more, as I was opening a business account. She was professional, pleasant, and helpful. She offered some options and helped me understand which would be the best fit for my business needs. I detected no falseness in her approach, she is a professional at every level, and a very competent representative of Austin Bank. In fact, everyone in the Bank I have dealt with has demonstrated high levels of professionalism, courteous service, and friendly attitudes. Life lesson, folks: Sometime you are so blinded by your own attitude you miss what is really coming at you. Need to open an account - go see Debbie Finley, just understand she has a job to do, one required by the federal laws and regulations, and she does her job - I wish everyone did! read more

I've had several problems with this bank. The workers are usually quite rude and they never have answers. That could be due to poor training. Austin Bank has absolutely the worst hours. If you ever get to be overdraft and you don't put money by their precious time of 5:30pm you will be changed an insufficient charge. This is absolutely ridiculous! How are you expected to put money in your account when you work? This is so dumb and the workers just say "sorry" not even willing to work with their clients. This shows how much they truly care about your business. Im definitely not the only one having issues with this bank people that i know hate this bank and have closed their accounts. Out of what I thought convenience I kept them but not anymore. I do not recommend this bank to anyone. read more

If you want your account frozen and have to call them to fix it everyday then this is your bank! Absolutely the shittiest bank I have ever used. The customer service is dog shit they close on Saturdays so if the account is frozen on a Friday night you gotta wait till Monday to spend money read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. This is by far the worst bank I have ever used. Never EVER go here. Online banking system never works, employees are not helpful, it took 2 weeks to get my replacement card and they would not send me a temporary card or allow me to get my number over the phone. I've also had issues depositing checks, they have a feature where you are supposed to be able to take a photo of the check, but alas, one more feature that has been broken for an entire year. Not to mention, all of their card upgrades are complete and utter shut in comparison to other banks I use. As someone who has experience with multiple banks, use Chase, not this horrible place. read more

I was sent a check in the mail for $1,100 from Austin Bank supposed to be paid to my house insurance company but it made it look like it was ours because our names are on it .It was paid to us plus there was a paper they sent stating that it was for escrow. So of course anyone would assume you're getting paid back escrow.of course we got excited thinking why we got some extra money and I started paying medical bills. I go to the bank and go in to deposit it and of course I get told that the check back in September of last year they put stop payment on it. Then submitted a new check to the insurance company.which of course all this would be fine except that no one said I'm sorry that there was a mistake made making it look like it was for us.taking mine we never received notice from Austin Bank that would have simplified it letting us know that there was a mistake and a check that was floating out there.Obviously an employee somewhere out there needs her hand spanked or his hand spanked because he made a mistake. read more

Debbie Finley I met with today to open up a checking account with $150. She is giving me the 3rd degree about how I bank, where else I bank, where I work and what do I do at my job. I tell her all the while not liking her fakeness and extreme patronizing tone. Then I ask her what does where I work have to do with anything if I show you my ID? I gave her a copy of my lease with my new address and she pressed on about the "Patriot Act" I ask isn't that about terrorism? She says n we just have to know where we can reach you? I never had such an experience with opening a bank account until I came to TX. So I look up the Patriot Act and it is what I thought it was passed about terrorism rushed thru by Bush in 2001. And I took my money back and left. She didn't ask why nor did she stop me. She didn't want my business and I don't want to do business with her kind either. This is my 2nd time being railed at Austin Bank. Boo and shame on you! I'll keep with my bank that is more places than here in East Texas. Racist, Redneck and and NOT RIGHT. But it's ok.
