We have discontinued our time here and will be taking our money to well run and professional organized sports like Chicago Fire Pitch. (BTW CFRS is one of the best facilities to play at both aesthetically and organizationally)

I've probably been to a dozen Cougars games in my life, most of those thanks to free tickets I won from grade school reading programs. As an adult, I've attended dollar beer night and returned years later with our two kids, both enjoyable experiences. The ballpark is easy to find on Kirk Rd in Geneva. One could make the argument that I'm double dipping, since I wrote a review for the Cougars' stadium (Northwestern Medicine Field) back in Sept '19, but does anyone honestly care? The Kane County Cougars baseball organization is a separate business listing, so SHHH! My wife and I brought our kids here for a Sunday afternoon game in July, and I'm glad we paid the $15 for premier parking so we didn't have to drag our wagon for god knows how far. Entry was easy and we set up our lawn chairs & blankets on the 1st base side near right field. For lunch, I got two tamales w/elote from a food truck parked inside. The kids loved their Dippin Dots - their first encounter with the "ice cream of the future" - and my wife got a hot dog w/fries. With the heat eclipsing 90°F, I had no problem downing several draft beers from a nearby kiosk. As we exited, a staffer handed out popsicles which was a nice treat to have on the way to our car. They have fireworks after Friday or Saturday games plus bobblehead giveaways and themed nights (Star Wars, Bark at the Park, even Bluey!) The Cougars marketing team gets an A+ when it comes to promotions. * TL;DR * Cougars games are all about family fun and chill vibes. Tickets are usually dirt cheap, and this is an independent professional league (much like the Chicago Dogs near O'Hare Airport), so it's not like any of the calls matter as much as they would in a bonafide Major League game. Also, general admission lawn seats are too far away from the action for any fans to legitimately argue balls & strikes. I definitely recommend attending a Cougars game; there's lots of things for kids to enjoy while grown-ups will appreciate the reasonably priced concessions and other low-key features of the ballpark.

It appears the entire staff has changed and with it the warm vibe. The last few weeks my kids have just been swimming back and forth across the lane without much demonstration or apparent guidance from the staff, whether it has been one or two trainers in their lane. The trainers also used to interact warmly with the kids while in the water (or out), now the trainers look bored and interact with the kids minimally and without the same enthusiasm. It is the same facility, but the staff that made it such a wonderful place are gone. My children have always loved their trainers and now have nothing to say about them. I think it is time for us to start looking for a new place for swim lessons.

I appreciate the ease of enrolling and then getting to stay in the class until you want to stop. No re-enrolling every 8 weeks. No worrying about missing the start of the new session. Easy, no hassle canceling when you are finished. We've had no problems with a makeup when needed. Open gym is also so fun! Finally, the second floor viewing area for families gives a wonderful overview of any activity no matter where they are in the gym. Prairie Gymnastics is a clean, safe, fun, wonderful gym for kids to learn gymnastics.

I can't speak for the soccer fields, but the basketball courts are some of the nicest we play on. They have wood floors, well maintained, and it has more of a gym feel rather than a warehouse feel. You cannot find any other place in the area to beat their value. We paid about only $30 a month for both me and my wife. This place is not fancy, just a standard gyms with standard equipment. If you just want to work-out, this place will serve you well. Friendly staffs, well maintain equipments, clean place, hot shower, and lots of activities, these will earn them at least 4 stars easily. What missing from this place which I really wish to see in the future is sauna and stream rooms. As soon as they have those, they will become 5 stars facility.

My youngest started in a parent/child class, Pre-COVID. It was more of an open gym/exploratory class, which was a fun introduction to tumbling. We just started back after a break for COVID, and the facility remains impressive. My now the year old jumped right in to participate, which impressed me. The teachers are obviously experienced with younger children. The facility has a great plan on place to safely check children in without a lot of close contact and traffic through the building, and parents can still watch class via Zoom. Every child enrolled in the camp (which I believe cost $500) is guaranteed a role in the play. I recently attended the Friday night performance for You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. There were only 10 children enrolled in the camp. The show chosen had 6 speaking roles, and 4 non-speaking roles. The participants in non-speaking roles were infrequently on the stage singing and dancing. Didn't have so much as one line in the whole show. Which meant they spent much of the week leading up to the show sitting around watching the others practice. Not exactly what the camp offered or was paid for. It would seem to me that a better show could have been chosen to allow fuller participation for all the camp enrollees. I understand that in any play some are cast in larger roles than others. However, the secret to a good theater camp is to figure out how to utilize ALL the kids to make them feel like full participants. There are much better theater camps out there. I would recommend skipping this one.
