My friend and I both got our hair cut by Fern today and he did a great job! He really took his time while cutting and styling and we're both super happy with our hair after! Would definitely recommend him to a friend! read more

I drive an hour each way to get my hair done and it's well worth it! I love the atmosphere and Meghan is amazing! #meghanmurphypdx

I've been struggling with my hair since turning 50 and have bounced from one stylist to another for 3 years. A friend recommended I see Meghan at Au Salon and I could not be happier with the results. I've had so many people ask me where I get my hair cut and even had the comment, "you look younger, who cuts your hair?" Thanks Meghan!! read more

Love this salon. I was recommended by a friend and, have in turn, recommended to more friends. I appreciate they way they educate you on how to do the styling yourself when you return home - something I always failed to figure out previously read more

I found out about Au Salon about a year ago. The first time I went in I didn't have an appointment, but luckily that was okay. The staff were very professional and didn't make me wait. I saw Jori who introduced herself, showed me around and cut/styled my hair. I loved what she did and have been going to Au Salon ever since! I've been to many different salons, but Au Salon has been my favorite. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and can relate to their clientele. I appreciate that they take the time to teach their clients how to best manage their hair/style. I'm always impressed with Jori's work and I always leave very satisfied! read more

Josette has been cutting and coloring my hair for years. Every time I go in, she asks me what I'd like to do with my hair, and I reply 'Do whatever you think will look great'. She does this, each and every time. I've gone from long to short and back again, brunette to blonde and all the shades between. Josette and her team of stylists are wonderful, and the mood is uplifting -- perfect for a pampering session. read more

Finally found my stylist for life... Meghan! She's amazing with my blonde hair and totally gets my needs without costing me a fortune. Thanks Meghan!!! read more

I have been a client of Auric Salon for the past few years. I usually see Emily or Josette but have been treated by Megan, Claudia and Drew. Every experience has been positive and I always love the way my hair looks. Fern gave my son a great cut and my husband loves Ambrosia! You won't be disappointed! They are on-trend and have amazing skills! read more

Au Salon is a true gem! Caitlyn is my stylist and she's nailed every cut/ color I've requested. On top of that, she's a genuinely nice person and a great conversationalist. I love My Haircut - and I have Claudia to thank for making me look and feel SEXY again at 74 years of age. I live in Brentwood (Bay Area) CA and my husband works and has an apartment here in Portland, OR. This is my second trip to Portland since his relocation here 3 months ago and I make my visits here as long as I possibly can before returning to CA. My husband Bill started going to Claudia before I arrived for my second visit here a month ago and recommended her to me. I have not had a good haircut for many years and have been switching shops and hair dressers and have never been satisfied - forever living with constant bad hair day moods. Claudia has ended my quest for the look and style I have been wanting and I am sooo happy and feel so good about myself now because she took over and knew exactly what to do. I have very short and very fine hair and have had to fight it to get it to do what I want it to do because I never got a good cut - until going to Auric and having her cut my hair as if she had known me and had been working with me forever. Plus the fact she is a darling person with a wonderful and fun personality - a real sweetheart. I leave the shop feeling years younger and in a very light hearted mood after she cuts my hair. She is extremely talented and I highly recommend her - she knows what she is doing and takes charge. I will never get my hair cut in CA again - I will wait until my trips to Portland to see Claudia at Auric. My husband looks quite handsome with his cuts from Claudia also - and now i have to fight women off him HA!!! A little humor there---- thanks Auric - thank you Claudia and also thank you to the reception ladies at the front desk. Joann Ashton read more

So I wasted my evening getting over to nw for just a consultation. I told the assistant that I could only get my hair colored on a specific day because I work a ton then I leave for vacation. Instead of seeing if that day was still free for services she booked me for a consultation and told me we could book that day later. I get to the consultation and am first quoted 9 hours which is 900 dollars but we could do just purple for 500. I get that dye has to be lifted but I can do that on my own. So before I make the rash decision of laying down that kind of cash I ask her if the date I need it done is even open. Sad to say the answer is a resounding hell no. Booked the whole day and I can't fit in any other days. Needless to say I was not happy when I had to pay 20 bucks when her assistant could have told me she was booked over the phone. It would have saved me time stress and money. read more

Great salon. Always walk away happy and satisfied. Jori does a wonderful job everytime!

Jori is amazing. She has done my hair for nearly 3 years and I've never had a bad experience. Jori even did my hair for my wedding in a very stylized retro fashion. I chose the wedding package so we practiced 3 times before the big day and... IT WAS PERFECT. Amazing, wonderful. I loved my hair on my big day. The funny part is... is that I always feel that way after leaving. She's high lighted my hair, dyed it, cut it... we've been through a lot together and she is amazing. I used to be on the never ending quest for a good stylist but sure enough I've found her. Plus, Jori is never judgemental and is always excited to do new things. Please see Jori, you wont regret it. read more

I have been seeing Josette now for a little over a year. She has been able to transform my damaged difficult mane into hair that I love get compliments on all the time. An expert that exudes class and professionalism.......she is part scientist and part artist. She is a great teacher and is always teaching her staff how to improve their work and do the best possible job for their customers. They have amazing products that have simplified my hair routine dramatically. The staff is SO VERY friendly and helpful. Customer service is a high priority at Auric. I highly recommend Josette and Auric Salon. read more

I've been going to Au Salon for just over 2 years and have loved everyone I've seen there. I'm currently seeing Meghan regularly for a multitude of services as she handles my crazy hair changes with ease and even takes the time to give me more ideas and explains exactly what she's going to do with each step of the process. I love that she teaches as she goes. (I'm finally able to blow dry my own hair at home without looking like I just stuck my head out of the car window.) She listens, she's gentle, kind and really cares about the results. Highly recommend. read more

Meghan is absolutely amazing! I've never had a cut or color that I haven't liked from her. She gives lots of time and listens carefully during her consultations to make sure that you are getting exactly what you want. She also gives very helpful suggestions that I didn't think of or knew how/what to ask for but my hair always turns out exactly like how I imagined to to be (or better) in my head. Before going to Meghan, I bounced from stylist to stylist because I was never 100% happy with what I got (I'm picky) but will never be bouncing around again. I highly recommend Meghan! read more

There is a stylist at this nice salon, Naomi, whom I can't rave about enough. I get a great haircut and color a little more often than once a month. She's sensitive and intelligent and is just about ideal - even waxed my eyebrows so nicely that my sister in law asked me if I'd had Botox (no!!) ... I have seen other haircuts she's done and they're all super nice. She's a treasure!! read more

I have been seeing Hannah at Au Salon for more than 5 years. She is amazingly talented, and I recommend her to all my friends and family. I love to try new colors and cuts, and Hannah is always as excited as I am to try something new, even if it means spending more time, or being more detailed than just "touching up". Additionally, sometimes I don't have the exact words to describe what I want. Hannah can take what I tell her and give me the exact color or style that I'm looking for. I look forward to my appointment every 8 weeks, and wouldn't go anywhere else! read more

Josette is amazing! I came in after having a terrible cut and color from another salon. Josette diagnosed problem and I left her salon looking and feeling great! I can't say enough about Josette's expertise and warm personality. So glad I found Salon Auric! read more

I am a hairstylist and from my perspective, Josette understood exactly what I wanted and executed it PERFECTLY!!! I've been cutting and styling my own hair for the past three years after too many bad haircuts or stylists not understanding the high-fashion look I enjoy. I am thrilled and actually looking forward to my next haircut! Staff was friendly, products offered great price range (something for everyone). I can tell that her standards for the Salon and stylists are very high and she believes in stylist education. Don't hesitate! read more

Stylish, personable and laid-back. For as long as I started going to hair salons for a cut, I would always have to repeat to myself that my haircut was a good one. But after I paid the bill, I would always wonder if I would ever LOVE a haircut like other people LOVED thier new haircut. I wondered when I would find the hairstylist that I would actually keep going to more than once. I finally found that with Naomi at Au Salon. She spent lots of time teaching me how to manage my hair in a realistic way and I had so much confidence in my haircut. I feel like she tries to bring out natural beauty of each client, rather than bombarding clients with more beautifying products. Au Salon is a great find. read more

I've been going to Jason for about 5 years. I've converted my sister and multiple friends to come here as well and we all love it. I always come out loving my hair, even if I just tell Jason to do what he wants. I did a bright red washout dye over bleach blonde myself and it ended up not washing out after months, and not even bleach would pull it out, just made it bubblegum pink. Jason ended up doing my roots dark and did a bright pink over the ends. I loved it! I will never doing anything to my hair that Jason doesn't approve of ever again. read more

I have thick, naturally semi-wavy hair. It's unruly at times and unless your stylist knows how to take off weight and layer appropriately, it can feel like I'm carrying extra weight on my head as it feels like the hair gets weighed down. My last cut was stylish but the previous stylist at a diff. salon didn't take enough weight off. Not enough layers and there wasn't much shape to my hairstyle. My experience at Au Salon was great. I rec'd a referral discount (if your friend sends you here, you and your friend both receive $15 off) and found an experienced, knowledgeable staff. They were very conscious of informing me of every little thing they did to my hair, explained all the products that were used. It's a Bumble & Bumble salon and their staff seems to be getting all the continued education they can handle. It's a cute salon with fabulous staff members. I'd give it 4.5, half star off for making me feel like I had to book my next appointments but it wasn't too annoying. I'd be glad to come back in 10-12 weeks for another cut. I'm now contemplating getting a texturizing perm once this cut settles in. read more
