She explains things clearly and as she might say, "scientifically," and takes you through the making of several dishes step by step, plus offering tips that were new to me. There were only three of us in the class, so each of us had plenty of opportunities to get our hands full of dough/potatoes/onions, to grind spices, to fry parathas, etc. And then we got to eat it all and chat -- so delicious and relaxing. I'm taking two more classes... can't wait!

I've done over 15 cooking classes in NYC and when we travel and this was by far the best I've been to. The class was an intimate group hosted in Mukti kitchen in Brooklyn. Mukti's background as a scientist brought a different perspective from most of the cooking classes I've been to. She would explain each step from the scientific perspective as well her personal connection to the food and culture. Mukti facilitated a warm atmosphere was very welcoming and every student was able to participate rather than primarily demonstrations. We made several familiar Indian dishes (Chana, eggplant and rice) but everything was the BEST version we have had. We have been inspired to cook with whole spices and love the recipes. Thank you Mukti for such a special evening. We look forward to coming back. I would highly recommend a class with Mukti if you are looking to cook healthy and delicious food. The class size is kept small which is a huge plus especially since Mukti's knowledge of Indian spices and Ayurvedic cooking is just as powerful of an experience as the physical cooking aspect of the class. I couldn't recommend enough - what a gem!

The class changed my entire perspective on how I view cooking, and I love it! Ronna took the fear out of cooking for me and removed all the blocks I had from getting myself into the kitchen. She pretty much took the stress out of cooking for me, and not only made me feel like a better mom and wife by taking the guilt out of not having home cooked meals on the table every single day, and teaching me creative ways to get meals on the table quickly, she really helped me discover a new creative side to me that I didn't think I was capable of in the kitchen! I will use the tools I learned at Purple Kale Kitchenworks for the rest of my life and will share them with others I know. She taught me things I didn't even think of doing in my kitchen, even after going to culinary school to learn how to cook! I highly recommend her class!

This most recent time which was last weekend, I rented the kitchen to host a 20 seater chefs table. Both Ronna & her assistant Kim were beyond helpful. They were both available through email & phone anytime myself or my event planner had questions. Ronna was also super flexible with my timing & arranging for rental drop off & pick ups. The place was cleaned when we arrived and Kim was there to make sure we had everything we needed when we arrived. I highly recommend this space and would definitely book again.

I attended Thai, Thai, Thai with a friend and we had a great time. The food was delicious, easy-to-make and something I could remember how to make at home. But, I probably won't because I don't cook... ever :) That's why I came to MOPAC - they basically do it for me. I subtracted one star for three reasons: 1. There were some games involved that not everyone enjoyed. I really loved them because I'm an outgoing and particularly loud person. However, it was obvious that a few chefs were uncomfortable. I say just stick to the cooking. 2. I wish we made a dessert. We made an appetizer and an entree, but no dessert. I wouldn't have minded paying a few extra bucks for the event to include a dessert as well. We certainly would have had enough time if we hadn't played the games. 3. Manhattanites - watch out when you get off the subway. I've never been to this neighborhood before and my first thought was just, "where the F am I?!" There's no signage outside, so be sure to look for the big black door at 47 Thames. If MOPAC was in Manhattan, it'd be awesome.

We had a chance to chat with other participants throughout the event. Our group was a really fun group I must say! The food was great..and even though I consider myself a great cook (and a food television addict)..I STILL learned a some cooking techniques that I hadn't used before. You have your own cooking station, but you are sitting in a "group" style set up. You are assigned your own set of tools and food portions at your station and the place is very clean. Another review mentioned that there was no wine, but you can bring your own if you choose to. I think someone brought a bottle of rum that they shared with the whole group when I went...I definitely had rum and coke that night. It's definitely a great experience!

He also taught us some fundamental concepts/steps in terms of Indian cooking. The four hour class yielded really tasty dishes, and even though my older daughter who's six wasn't officially enrolled in the class, Sanjay let her help with the poori and chicken korma when she dropped in briefly. I'm so thankful for this generous gesture, and his knowledge. His passion for sharing what he knows really shines through, and I highly recommend his class. I must say it was not always smooth sailing, but no place is perfect. My professors held me accountable for doing my part, they are smart, dedicated and approachable. I have put in the work that my professors set out for me, as every student should, and accomplished what I set out to do. See for yourself, and remember this is a school that is preparing you to have a professional career, think critically and make wise choices In life, if this is not your goal then, this is not the school for you. Nursing is a vocation, it's not a walk in the park. With self discipline, hard work and perseverance you can have your degree at St. Paul's School of Nursing In several months.

As a current student, I feel it's important to share some concerns about the way this school treats…read moreits students. Recently, we received an email stating that students are not permitted to enter classrooms before the scheduled class time so that instructors can "prepare the learning environment." However, in reality, many professors arrive exactly at the start time or even after class is supposed to begin. Meanwhile, students are expected to stand in hallways or find somewhere else to go even when we arrive early after work to study. The only alternative spaces are the library or cafeteria, both of which have very limited seating. It feels unreasonable to pay out of pocket for an education and not even be allowed to sit in an empty classroom while waiting. We then received another email about elevator use, which is understandable for accessibility reasons. However, the message stated that misuse could result in parent/guardian contact. This is a school of adults, and many of us are parents ourselves. Including language like that clearly shows how little the administration thinks of its students and reinforces the feeling that we are treated like children rather than responsible adults paying for a professional education. Another major concern is the lack of respect and support from some faculty members. For example, Professor Jayne Kier is extremely unapproachable. Students feel uncomfortable asking questions because responses are often sarcastic, dismissive, or met with long, intimidating stares. There is little guidance provided, yet students are made to feel as though they are wrong for seeking help. This creates a stressful and discouraging learning environment. Lastly, it often feels like students cannot safely voice concerns. When issues are brought up to administration, they are dismissed as complaints rather than taken seriously even though many of us are committed, adult learners who care deeply about our education and future careers. It is incredibly disappointing to be treated this way as paying adult students. We invest our time, energy, and money into this program, yet we are treated as if we are receiving a free service and should simply accept it without question. The tone and treatment are not only disrespectful, they are humiliating.
