Went here tonight and there are some major positives:…read more
1) Really liked the frozen margarita, XXL, classic. Strong punch, that put me out.
2) Quality ingredients in the food, I thought
3) Wings and quesadilla were tasty.
I didn't like the following:
1) It's called El Paso, it advertises as "American Food", but there is no non-frozen Margarita? C'mon. That's one of the most basic things that all tex-mex places need to have. And they need to be good at it.
2) The hot wings - while the sauce was tasty, this was not 'hot sauce' in the traditional sense on the wings. For true american hot wings, please try the types of wings available at Buffalo Wild Wings stores or thousands of other US places. Maybe they made this less spicy for the German palate? Also, a separate plate for the leftover bones should always be provided.
3) Quesadilla, while tasty, was difficult to eat with my hands. I had to use fork/knife. All quesadillas as I know them are to be eaten by hand. For one, the sauces should be on the side of the quesadilla, not on top of it. Then, while I know this is hard, actual sour cream should be used, not creme fraiche.
Tasty, but has a ways to go to be an 'authentic' tex-mex place. I look forward to trying the chips/salsa and other items, like the ribs, in the future.
