It's located in the town of Schwangau and you can see the Neuschwanstein Castle from the balconies on many of the rooms. It's quite a picturesque view and a lovely area. The hotel has about 54 rooms and two restaurants a bar and wellness center. The staff are very nice here and the rooms are also nice. Breakfast is included and it was a nice assortment of choices that were well prepared. The bar is also very nice with a great list of cocktails and the bar tender here makes his own schnapps which are to die for :-) amazing hazelnut schnapps homemade. Our rooms were nice and comfortable with all the facilities you would expect including a nice bag for the use of the wellness center including towels and so on. If you forget your bathing suit they do have some you can borrow. All in all a lovely experience and I would come back here again.

A little room with some cardio equipment and weights would make this location perfect. If this doesn't matter to you, I'd definitely chose Hotel Maximillian!

I booked the Kleines Doppelzimmer - Beste verfügbare Rate for 2 Gäste 2 Nächte on their website. It was 258,40 EUR. Judging by the pictures, it was a good price. My Check-in was So. 15. Sept. 24 and Check-out was Di. 17. Sept. 24. It stated that it was directly on the Alps, so that sounded exciting. My significant other and I checked in at the front desk. We were assigned room 8 and then given keys on a keyring. One key was for our room door and the other was for the main door of the facility. Our room was on floor 3. The room seemed a bit dated, but clean. The Doppelbett was pretty comfortable. There was a good amount of outlets in the room that I got to use. I wasn't too into the style of the Badezimmer, but it was efficient. The water pressure was good. On 17.09.2024, we had Frühstück at Gasträume, which was on floor 1 near the entrance. Our table was 8 Reserviert for us. It felt cozy inside there for sure. It was a buffet that was self-service. On my first trip up, I got an Orangen, a Filterkaffee, scrambled eggs, and bacon. The Orangen was alright. The Filterkaffee was horrible. Even sugar didn't help the taste. The scrambled eggs and bacon were both bland. On my second trip up, I got a pretzel. It was rather hard. I didn't enjoy it. I think Frühstück should have been included with my stay, especially due to the low quality. I was displeased by it and felt ripped off. There were Toiletten below floor 1. They were clean and seemed to be kept up with nicely. Checking out was fast. There weren't any issues. The service throughout my stay here was alright, but nothing to brag about. The employees were helpful at least. Overall, this place did the job. The price wasn't bad and the location was decent. I think this place has room to improve. Dates of stay: So. 15. Sept. 24-Di. 17. The best part about it was having a reserved table for their breakfast buffet. I would come back to Hanselwirt just to eat breakfast if I wasn't staying in the hotel. The had, buffet style: a wide variety of fresh breads (I had croissants) and locally made cheeses. Freshly cut veggies, cucumber, red and green peppers, fruit, yogurt, muesli, smoked salmon, bacon, sausage and eggs (scrambled or soft boiled). Let's not leave out the fantastic coffee, with wonderful cream, juices and tea selection.

We enjoyed a very decent breakfast buffet (photos, currently being served cafeteria style. It probably will go back to what it was (self serve) once we're done with this COVID pandemic. One could always hope.) Great location with only four-minute short walk to the town center with shops, restaurants and attractions. The hotel is within short walking distance of downtown (many restaurants and shops). But with its own beer garden it's hard to find a reason to leave. Great for families as well, this hotel has a very nice play area for children. And the trails along the river or up the mountains are another big plus to this location.

Hotel was also cute. arrived at our hotel in the evening and rain. but later saw how cute the tiny town and boutique hotel were. As is the case with many hotels in Europe we had 2 twin bed pushed together and they were very firm. No sheet but we did take the inside of our comforter out .. to serve as a sheet. Why no sheets in Europe??? the towels were smallish and coarse but every room had a lovely basket containing bigger towels and couple robes. these are really for the pool and spa but fine to use. prefer using spa towels vs room towels. Cute area to sit outside with swing and area to relax. No AC!!! So dont go in in summer ..we were there in spring and opened a window to cool off the room .. no screen so risk bugs but only way to cool off. the room entrance and bathroom entrance both had just a one inch step... just enough to stumble or break a toe. Ken had the idea of using a rolled up spa towel to cover the step thus protecting our feet. the hotel is right across the street from a Benedictine abbey. you can buy tickets to enter abbey. The town is very close to one of King Ludwigs castles or palace. we only stayed one night as apart of our tour .. and there were 44 of us.

Our stay started out rough, but things ended great…read more Our party of 3 stayed at the Hyperion for 3 nights last week. During night one I was prepared to leave and find a new hotel, as the mattress was for me was actually painful. We had a king and (a noisy) pull-out sofa, and after about an hour of laying I gave up sleep...for my body the mattress was hard, not firm...so hard I could not lay on it. My husband felt so bad he went to the front in the middle of the night for a solution and was told to come back when management was there in the morning. He did so, and to their credit they placed a great topper, completely fixing the issue and making the bed great...thank goodness. As for the rest of the room, it was large, clean, and updated and included a patio area. There are beautiful mountain views from the yard and restaurant patio. The location is absolutely perfect, easy walking distance to shopping and restaurants but in a quiet location. (The walls are a bit thin though, so I did hear the room above moving around somewhat.) The breakfast at Hyperion is the real star. A huge buffet offering every morning with an exceptional amount of options. Possibly the best included breakfast I've had at any hotel. The breakfast staff was extremely proficient and pleasant. Even with my missed night of sleep, I feel they deserve a 5 star rating. They fixed our only issue quickly and for our needs and wants the hotel could not have been better. I would definitely stay there again...I'd just ask for the topper ahead!

Moved from 5 stars to 4 for the shower issue which took two days to fix and the fact that they advertise free parking, but the free parking spaces are quite limited. Room - The staff was very and when we checked in, personally showed us to our room which was a nice touch. They also provided recommendations on where to eat in the area and offered to make the reservation for us. - We had a room with a balcony that looked out onto the mountain...it was stunning. I sat out there for hours just staring at the mountain. Balcony comes with a table and 2 chairs. Perfect to watch the sunset. - Beds were hard (I overheard other people complaining at breakfast), I was fine with it or maybe just super tired. The pillows were so thin that they were uncomfortable. You needed to stack two, maybe three. Location - Perfect location to walk around the town (where you can't drive). Breakfast - YES. Come with an apetite because the breakfast is delicious and comes with your stay. Head down to the breakfast area and there are two indoor areas to sit and outside. - Many options from breads like roast, rolls, croissants, chocolate croissants and more. - Salmon, meats, cheese. - Cereal - Hot food items which consisted of sausage, bacon, eggs and one grilled vegetable - The best part about the breakfast are their drinks. A few types of juices, water, tea options and unlimited coffee. They have two coffee machines which make all types of coffee, hot chocolates, etc. Parking - There are maybe 6 free spots in front of the hotel. Good luck getting one of these. The hotel told us spaces open up around 10-12 but we never saw one. - You can park in their garage for 12 euros a day. - There's free street parking around the corner which is what we did. Pool - There is a heated pool which we didn't use but looked nice!
