Went to Aunt Millie's on 8-14-20, ordered a 16" meat pizza and a 12" meat pizza. Waitress brought out the 16" first, the sausage in the pizza was still frozen, waitress took it back and put in oven for longer. For my first trip to VIR, I ventured out on my own for lunch while my boyfriend was at work. The Yelp reviews were good so I moseyed inside for a solo meal. The staff were very friendly and the place looked legit (an over-sized "don't trust a skinny chef" sign and everything!) After deliberating over whether or not to get the obviously much-boasted-about pizza, I opted for my go-to / favorite: Steak & Cheese. Not Good. The meat tasted funny. I couldn't even eat the chips because they were so soggy. Even the pickle appeared unappetizing. Later that evening, I told my boyfriend about my experience (since he had been to VIR several times before) and his response was that "the pizza was gross too." It's a shame that Aunt Millie's is in such an out-of-the-way location. Otherwise, I would frequent this joint; and it's definitely a "joint." The beer selections are squarely domestic, but the house made crust and decent topping offerings are fresh. The pizza itself garners four stars. Atmosphere and beer selection are closer to two. As always, use Yelp to find a non-chain place to eat when on trips. This was only about 20 minutes out of the way off Rt 58. Well worth the trip. In a nice little town. Pizza was very good. Staff was pleasant. We drove around 27 miles from South Boston to get there and then found out they have limited menu on weekends. We looked at it on line and their menu showed subs an pasta. When we arrived they gave us menus listing mainly just pizza and salads. We asked and they said they only do the full menu during the week. They also wouldn't do any substitutes on pizza. They would leave items off and stll charge the same, but if you wanted something in its place that was extra. read more

We arrived just before they were about to close for the night but they let us stay because there were others in the restaurant that had not finished eating and they still needed to clean up. We ordered and ate a couple of slices there and took the rest back to the track. The servers were extremely friendly and joked with us the entire time we were there. Let me start off by saying, I've always heard pretty good things about Aunt Millie's, so we decided to make the drive to try it out. My boyfriend got the personal Mexican pizza and a seria nevada; I got the supreme Stromboli and tea, and we started with what they consider breadsticks. THE GOOD: his beer was ice cold. THE BAD: the breadsticks, should be called pizza crust sticks, because that's all they are. My waitress took 18 minutes to refill my completely empty tea which was sitting on the edge of the table, in that 18 mins she walked by us at least 10 times, straighten the menus, and sat at the bar and ate completely ignoring the customers. In the meantime, I watched an older lady put my Stromboli in the MICROWAVE for 5 minutes, mind you, the microwave was behind the register where I could observe this happen. When we got our food, another lady brought it out, our waitress checked on us about ten minutes later. I literally had to decrust my Stromboli, because it was soggy and tough from being zapped in the microwave, so I only ate the toppings which were good. When we were ready to pay, the lady that microwaved my food asked how everything was, I said not that great and she questioned me. So I told herhow long it took for a refill as well as I could taste that my Stromboli had been microwaved. The lady then proceeds to get loud saying I assure you your food was not microwaved, like she thought I was dumb when I literally watch her do it. Then got snappy and told me here just have ur money back then. I would not accept it, because I'm not after a free meal, however I do hope they will take what I told them into consideration. If I wanted something microwaved I would have bought a TV dinner. I am very unhappy with Aunt Millie's as I was really looking forward to trying their food, however I will not be returning. I do not recommend this place, it seems as though the quality of food and service has declined over the years. read more
