I live in another state and I recently stopped by to see my family's grave. I was tired from…read moretraveling and the last thing that I needed to see was my family's headstone topped, a branch over my mother's grave AND my mother in an unmarked grave. Prior to visiting I had contacted Forest Park Cemetery St. Vincent for photographs. They said they would send then and then they did not. I also had a name change on my cemetery plots and they gave me a new deed that was changed. This deed was different from my original deed and it had a stamped signature instead of an original "wet" signature with a notary. I have called on multiple occasions requesting an original deed and to honor the deed that I was given in 1999 since it was only a name change; however, there has been no positive outcome yet. I am also waiting for the engraving to be completed for my mother and father's side of the headstone. I paid $3400 on September 10, 2024 and I have received no confirmation that it has been completed yet. I am waiting on the original deed so that I can have the cemetery plots registered with Caddo Parish since it is real property. They called me to let me know that the original deed that I was given is NOT an original deed. The staff is non-responsive and I would not recommend doing business with Forest Park Cemetery. If they can send me my original deed honoring what was written from the 1999 deed, which they have the original because I had to give it to them to make a name change, AND have the engraving completed on my family's headstone then I will consider changing their review.

Took about 6 months until I got my baby's death certificate. They forgot to send it to the LA statistics data place because when I called them they said RoseNeath didn't even turn in the paperwork stuff yet after about 6 months. Didn't even ask if I was going to keep my baby's hospital clothes after they cremated her and never asked me about it.

We caught it just in time for them to fix before the services. My dad past away in January 2023 and he was a veteran, so I ordered a flag in a wooden case for him. I waited several weeks and they never called me, so I called them. They said they never got discharge papers I emailed them. I told them I did email discharge papers. They called me back and said sorry we didn't check spam folder and they found it. They said they would take care of it and it would be ready in a week or so. I called them and they said case would have to be made and would be ready the following Monday. I called Monday and they said it has not arrived, it would be no latter than Wednesday. I told them my wife is having surgery Wednesday from having breast cancer and that I would try to come in Friday. I called them Friday and they said it would be ready after 2:00 pm. I live an hour away, I showed up at 2:00 Friday and they told me they got busy and forgot. They told me no one is here right now that can fold flag. I went home (1 hour away) they called me and said it was ready. I ask are you open on Saturday and they said yes. I told them I will be there Saturday morning. I showed up and they handed me a flag in a plastic bag. I told them it was suppose to be in wooden case. They said we are so sorry we will order you one and gave me a brochure to pick one. I had already picked one in January. now it is March 18 2023 and I have no flag. And if that isn't enough I had a co-worker pass a week ago and they did the arrangements and spelled his obituary where he worked for 30 years wrong.

In the last 25 years, however, the competition has grown and there is now a vigorous and lively market for families' business during that stressful time. I wasn't sure what to expect coming back to my home and having to bring my dear mother's remains halfway across the country for her Celebration of Life. She was a deeply loved and respected educator in Caddo Parish since the early 1970s, as well as a past president of the local alumnae chapter of her sorority. I'm her only child and my wife is not from the area. For those reasons and many others, I am exceedingly grateful for the outstanding work that Ms. Femecca Jackson and the staff at Winnfield did for me and my loved ones. At every step in the funeral process, Ms. Jackson, was patient, knowledgeable, informative, classy, respectful and always willing to go far above and well beyond what I had been told to expect. Even at our church on the day of the service, Ms. Jackson was tirelessly working, making sure that my family and mother's friends were attended to with the most compassionate care imaginable. Also, we were simply amazed at how beautiful mother looked! The preparers are also to be commended. Finally, the business arm of the operation was just as proficient and professional. There was not a single hiccup in transportation, securing permits, coordination with our Nevada mortuary, scheduling, venue, decor, funeral accoutrements or payment arrangements. The staff truly made us feel welcomed and comforted. I recognize that selecting a funeral home is vastly different from choosing a place to dine; however, families should recognize that this service is also a business. There are good ones, and not so good. Shouldn't the people that you choose to care for your closest loved ones in their transition have an honorable reputation for excellent service? And, when a business provides top notch service, shouldn't patrons spread the good word? Certainly the answer to both of those is "yes." Winnfield Funeral Home did magnificent work for our family and I am glad that our steps were guided to their door. Thank you, Femecca, and please give everyone else all our love and gratitude. K. I couldn't wrap my head around that morning's events and didn't even understand the question. Yet it was one of the questions I remember that sticks out for some odd reason. Thankfully a close family friend recommended Kilpatrick's and put us in touch with Martin. He was able to help that same day, making sure my late mother was in good care all the way from the hospital to Kilpatrick's. When my dad and I met with him the following morning, Martin walked us through every step, all the paper work, the check boxes, the details. He was very patient with us from the start, making sure we took a break (very overwhelming) during our meeting and even followed up with us a week later. The staff we also met at the Marshall St. location were great too. We made the mistake of parking in the back, thinking we would be blocking the driveway. They had been waiting for us and made sure to let us know parking in front okay (not a tow zone, FYI - looks deceiving).
