Its funny because Dr. Shah spends about 5-10 mins with the patients and you wait 10 times longer just to see him. Its ridiculous. Furthermore, don't expect equipment such as a wheelchair, crutches, or even a cane. This place is not equiped with anything!!! Also, the whole place needs a makeover...seems like I am stuck in the early 80s.

I have spent time at the offices and visited many of their programs around the city. Such a great operation. I also attended fund raising events. They have poetry readings. They also provide training and hold graduation ceremonies for the program participants. A lot of community support is received both financial and volunteers. It's never enough. The medical expenses and the nature of the illness are costly. Individuals need training, housing, social activities, as well as clothing and food. This organization has been around for many years. It's superior in my book. If you're looking for a non-profit to support then you have my personal and professional blessing when you support ASC. I'm donating my unopened medications to them. They have accepted them in the past. I wrote them a letter reminding them who I am. I hope I hear from them. I'm recommending you use their services, volunteer, or donate.

I've experienced 23 years of unparalleled wellness while under the care of Dr. Hsu and AHF. I am…read moreextremely fortunate knowing that I have perhaps the finest, most knowledgable and dedicated healthcare providers in all of New York City -- Dr. Ricky Hsu, MD and Erik Mortensen, NP., who have always ensured that my husband Carlos' and my health and well-being are a top priority. Such outstanding healthcare naturally requires a great team. And the amazing front office team at AHF, led by Nurse Manager Doreen Nolan and Practice Manager Shamon Knight, ensure that the practice runs like a well orchestrated symphony --coordinating with doctors, providers, insurance, patients, 3rd parties -- so that patients' needs are continuously met. Without their efforts and all of the front office team this quality of care at AHF would not be possible. We don't feel like patients here. We feel like family. And that's what makes AHF Midtown unique. They really care.

I signed up for an annual physical, during which I had my blood drawn. I received quite a shock when I received the bill. In addition to charges for the physical and blood draw, I received charges for a second office visit, an after hours visit, and a mental health assessment, none of which I consented to. I called the billing office and asked for an explanation. They said the after hours charge was because my visit was at 5 p.m. The mental health assessment because I filled out a paper mental health form (which was never discussed with me). And the second office visit because I asked the doctor a few questions about my health. I explained that I had never consented to these extra services. They removed the after hours charge "as a courtesy" (like they're doing me a favor or something), but said the other charges stood and that my consent was not necessary. It took three and a half months and six phone calls, but finally the billing office agreed to the drop the charge for the second office visit, again "as a courtesy." One false charge remains, but I'm not contesting it because insurance covered the full cost. In any case, I certainly won't return to this medical office, and I urge everyone else to avoid it as well.
