    Hello H.

Must be under new wonderful management. I read the Yelp reviews after staying here and was honestly shocked. Our experience is and has been absolutely wonderful. I made reservations minutes before arriving and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. She took time explaining the cabin, fees and amenities catered towards my children. I also have 4 young children and their cabins have a full bed and a large bunk bed. She said it would be no problem if we wanted to have our family of six to stay in the 4 person cabin since we had young children. Thank you for not trying to split my family up just to make more money! They had an all you can eat ice cream social, pool, ping pong, playground, disc golf, television room, gigantic white board to color with markers, shuffle board, large field and a very well maintained and clean swimming pool with debths acceptable for children and adults. We later found out that the lady that took our reservation and assisted us at check-in was the owner with her husband. Sorry to say that others had a bad time years ago but these people were so kind and patient to us even when my children were in the store. We even spoke with them a little about why they became owners and they have a deal passion for camp ownership and love what they're doing. Thank you so much for providing a place for us to spend as a family and have great fun together without breaking our wallet!

I love the fact that it has a dog park and it is a dog friendly establishment. I would prefer if the showers had better pressure and were more modern, normally we wouldn't use it but our shower in our RV was out of commission. The store had good snacks and they did a great job picking up the trash and everyone was friendly.

When we entered there's a gate that you need a code to open (the entrance isn't great for longer trailers you need to swing way to the right). You get an escort to your site to make sure you make it in alright. You also get a map of the campground. We were in site 81 which is a pull through but our 33 footer hardly made the turn (we had to hold a tree back so it wouldn't hit and the roads are very narrow). The site was rather small not much wider then our awning, length was ok as long as you don't have a tent or anything other then a car/truck. You can also hear the highway from our site but its not very bad and the highway isn't very busy. There is Wifi but for my phone (iPhone 6s) it is in and out (the extender it in the site next to us). There is in and out cell service here for Verizon (Not sure about others) We had a problem with the cable not finding any channels and they came out and fixed it (the cable connection was in a hole in the ground not the visible one on the box) You can rent kayaks, canoes, row boats, paddle boards and peddle boats for $10 an hour. "First come first serve". But they have better rates on the weekdays. We rented two kayaks and a canoe from 2:30-4:30 ($60) and it was beautiful out, the water was very calm and clear. Sli The pond (Moores pond) is where you launch. Theres are a lot of lily pads and aquatic plants that grow to the surface and go pretty far out into the pond but if you go out far enough its clear of plants There is a volleyball court, movie theater (very small) pavilion where they serve breakfast 8-10am, lunch 12-2pm and dinner 5-8pm. (The lunch menu can also be ordered for dinner) I got a burger at the pavilion and it was great, a little crispy on the edges and a smoky flavor. They also have cabins and TiPis that you can stay in. Honestly wouldn't come back in a trailer but I would try a cabin or tipi.

We have stayed at the KOA in the same city, and we weren't super thrilled with the campground. The Salmon Falls River, RV campground, on the other hand, is amazing. My parents are staying on a site directly behind us and between our two campers we have a ton of space. My brother stayed at a site in the back of the Safari field with the woods right up against him, and he also loved it. We have two picnic tables set up near each other and an area for outdoor seating inside of a net. For amenities, they have two pools, an indoor pool, as well as an outdoor pool. There is a volleyball net attached to the outdoor pool. We are up here on a super rainy time of year, July 4, 2023, and we still enjoyed our time. The other campers are super laid-back, and we have enjoyed every person we have met. The campground puts out a schedule of activities for the weekend, and there are many different activities that campers can choose to participate in. My mom and I enjoyed an adult only bingo night in the adult bingo hall, there was a candy bar bingo for the children to participate in by the pool, and the ice cream truck made a visit on Saturday evening. Everyone here is very nice and very accommodating, from your fellow campers to the staff and owners. We are approximately 45 minutes from old Orchard Beach, and all of the other coastal activities. This is a definite repeat for us. Awesome place, 10 out of 10 do recommend.

Tried to call and ask for manager 3 or more times without a phone call back in return with zero solutions or apologies. Won't be back until they make some serious changes! Spend your money somewhere else (Jellystone). This place used to be the the best and now the owner is running it into the river.

We did not get our $500 deposit back. We are full-time travelers, so we always stay 3-4 weeks. We did not pay a deposit for a "monthly" stay, which is $750 non-refundable (this information is found in the bowels of their website - not on the reservation page), as we were not on a monthly plan. In my opinion, we should have been given our refund as stated by the KOA guidelines. It is true that the KOA Corp does not get involved in these disputes, but I feel they need to know how their franchises are being run. Sadly, even when we do get our rig fixed, we will find another place to stay.

SO Many YouTube and google maps and Yelp reviews to show you what awful business owners they are ! They canceled my reservation and stole over 100$ Koa corporate is of no use and you are on your own. For your own sake- read the reviews. These people shouldn't be in business. On YouTube they have several reviews of the man being angry and crass and kicking people out. He was near yelling at me when i called to cancel--- anger issues- please get help and then maybe your star level would raise you Thief!!!! Combative, rude and retaliated at my calling corporate by cancelling this- very vindictive!! Obviously I will dispute with my credit card company and make it clear everywhere online that these people outright steal from you..... all emails to support.. @KOA @bangorkoa @bangor/holdenkoa Very combative people that certainly did not bring out the best in me but to be able to literally steal--- 125$? I have proof in emails that i did not want to cancel if there would be a fees. Now they stole my money and will likely resell the spot. That is not right!!! Check all my reviews - most are positive -- people like these combative thieves that wouldn't know customer service if it smacked them in the face----they the entire reason I started writing reviews. Take a look at all the reviews and all the places I am staying and while I don't love people stealing from me this is about customer service and liars... not money... principle and theft......THEIVes.. I can't deal with this much more while I am still in the middle of a very long trip..... when I get home I will Deal with this as this doesn't end here... who steals?!!!!!!!! What is this world coming to when a company literally steals? Ok venting now...thieves! ii spoke to corporate and they said I am on my own after telling me that on event weekends the full amount is charged-- the full amount was not charged so their "event should not have applied to me". These people say otherwise. Im just a traveler that trusted a bad brand and the wrong KOA... 2 months bonding trip with my 10 year old.....over 20 KOAs-- and this one literally stole from me. And will now resell it and steal again... 124.$ and I never said to cancel if there was a fee and made it clear we would be there..... they threw a temper tantrum and stole from me... If anything goes wrong on your stay here - they will blame YOU and somehow steal you $$$ And if they are reading this.. please reinstate our reservation as I made it clear I would go to our 30th National Park if we had to pay regardless. Re-instate or refund!!! I never gave permission and while I want to meet you people As much as I do a rattlesnake, I do not like thieves masking as a legitimate business...

This is not your typical family friendly KOA. Although there are plenty of family friendly…read moreactivities, this campground is NOT for families. We booked Thursday through Sunday and had issues every evening. We had site 111 and on Thursday evening, several pre-teens, and teenagers were driving the golf carts like they were side-by -sides while others were riding their bikes without helmet at 10PM. Our site was by the bathroom, and we kept seeing these kids go in and out of the bathroom. The next morning, we woke to find the bathrooms were vandalized and closed all day on Friday. Friday late afternoon, the grownups on the neighboring site were playing cornhole which is a great game. However, these individuals were extremely loud and using vulgar language. The game got heated and these grown adults stated to wrestle due to some disagreement. Management came to the site and asked them to settle down. Shortly after their pre-teens and teenager arrived. The kids came by on the 4-person golf cart, yet 6 teenagers were on the cart. The driver then decided to do donuts with the golf cart right in front of my site. This was so close, dirt and rocks were kicking up all over, and if there lost control, they would have run my entire family over. Saturday night those neighbors left their pre-teen and teenagers at their site alone. At was 10PM and the kids were sitting by the fire and decided to take a leaf blower to the fire. The flames were shooting about 7 ft high and ember and coals sent aloft. I attempted to call the after-hours number, due to the safety issue to the entire campground, no one answered and no voice mail. I attempted to call again, same results. Luckily one of the teens recognized the danger and took the leaf blower away. Then the kid started to argue and like the parents, the language was offensive and in appropriate. Around 2AM another nieghor was so fed up with the this family partying they had to yell at them to go to bed. Now to the billing issues. We paid $59.99 to lock our site to insure my parents would be near us. Two weeks prior to the arrival date, I received a call stating a tree fell on the cabin and they had to move one of the sites. This was out of the campground control; however, they did not refund us the $59.99 for the site lock. When I looked over the bill, I noticed they charges us $10.00 per night for a pet fee, despite the fact we do not have pets. When I went to the office to report this, the lady told me the system automatically adds this fee because they are a pet friendly campground, and they forgot to remove it. When I complained about this, they informed me they credited me the $59.99 for the site lock and $30. for the pet free. Based on this business model, the KOA over charged us $89.99, which is essentially stealing from their customers. I will be writing to corporate to request a refund for both my sites.

Edited My Review After I read some of the other "1 Star" reviews and I realized....Sigh..... Sorry…read moreI just cannot sit back.... My Wife and I nervously booked a spot here. And I say we were nervous because Yelp and Google reviews are on at 3 - 3 1/2 stars... Someone posted a review the same time I was there and let me say I'm infuriated by people who put 1 star reviews for places as if you are the 1 "Snowflake" who did not get the royalty treatment from the site, and possibly even worse: the Weather.. To the people complaining about the duration of activities? Really? OK sure they are 4 hours long... but there are 5 different activities going on at the same time! How pitiful is it that people require a campground to entertain/babysit their kids. They gave you a schedule of the activities at check in...Plan accordingly... If that's too hard for you? How about entertaining yourselves with nature? Maybe even do what we did: bring Uno, play with your family. Sit in front of the fire, Talk to your kids, joke with them, Engage your family. Engage them with your friends! You know... Be human and adults... To the people complaining about the presence of college kids as Security.. Yeah I guess it's pretty sad that they have to do this to remind people of the rules that are clearly stated on their website, on the brochure, and on the map and paperwork handed to you at check in.. Personally I felt a little better knowing that rules are being enforced. I was able to drink my beer in front of the fire with music quietly playing and security walked by me 3-4 times during quiet hours and I said hi and they nodded to me... Games + Drinking after 11 are never quiet even if you think you are quiet.... Thus it was nice that My Kids are allowed to fall asleep because Security is reminding people of the rules... But enough about previous peoples complaints: From 9-5 there were various activities for the kids, Yes, each was only about 4 hours, but they give you a schedule at check-in to very easily plan accordingly. Thus, we did, and the kids enjoyed each of them.. It Rained on Saturday night...Heavily, My site filled with water... Ankle deep... Meh, It's Rain what are you gonna do.. It dried up after I dug a small trench to the road (Apologies to campground if this was a "No-No".) Others that it rained on had fun with it and floated in their sites. They knew how to have fun and make the best of the situation. Kids saw Santa (It was a Christmas in July Theme week.) and then they watched the movie afterward. My wife and I walked the campground and had a nice time while our oldest brought the 2 youngest to the movie. The Bathrooms smelled of Clorox. (This is a good thing) They could use paint but they smelled clean. I caught the staff in the middle of cleaning them. The Men's stalls are a bit claustrophobic but since they were clean I felt comfortable to do my business. It's very obvious they dumped a substantial amount of money on upgrading the power to every site on the north and west sites. Not sure how the south and east sites are as I did not get to walk that side. But a 30 amp receptacle for my camper and a separate 20 amp set of sockets was a very pleasant surprise. (BTW for the record the sites are separated by a road....That is NOT that busy.... ) the river was a bit low, but they spent money on the power and not a weather machine. (That' sarcasm BTW...) But we still enjoyed a nice lazy float down past our own site. This was a really nice bonus that I kind of had no idea would be a thing to do at the campground. So I asked the kids if they would want to come back... There was no hesitation from my 14 year old son. And my 2 youngest were excited of the prospect of returning.. So why only a 4 stars on this review? Because people automatically discard 5 Star reviews as made up... And yet people somehow take 1 star reviews seriously... I sometimes hate people (sarcasm)
