I have been going to this vet since it opened in this area. Before going here, I typically took my…read morecats to the vet in Moorefield, WV. The drive was never fun, and there weren't appointments, so one could end up waiting over an hour if it was a busy day. I love that this vet has extended hours on Wednesday evenings so that I can go after I get off work. I call, make an appointment, and I can be done in under 10 minutes after arriving. The vets are a father/son duo, and they also have a main vet office near Keyser called Hi-Rock Animal Hospital. If your pet happens to need more extensive testing or a stay overnight, they'll transport your pet here to care for them, and bring them back to the Romney office when it's time to go home. Their services may seem a bit pricey at times, but to me, that's worth the trade off in gas and time I would use to drive elsewhere. I've used them for regular yearly checkups, a teeth cleaning, gastro-intestinal issues (cat stayed a few nights), vomiting issues, and euthanizing two elderly cats. The one time in particular was memorable because I had no money on me at the time to pay for it, since I'd accidentally left my checkbook at home in my grief. Since my cats were clients and had been, the vet told me to bring the check by the next week, no problem. I definitely have never forgotten that kindness. They are definitely my preferred vet of choice!

I called to see if there was an emergency number on their answering machine message & the father answered the phone. He told me he would meet me at his office in Keyser right then so he could see her. She had to have surgery that night & wouldn't have survived otherwise. They also saved my sisters dogs after they ate rat poison. I have heard negative reviews about father Gustafson, I think his personality is just a little rough around the edges but he knows what he's doing & is a great doctor! Thanks docs

When my daughter received our beautiful Golden Retriever puppy Luna a year ago, we automatically knew that Dr. Truman would be our Vet. On the morning of September 17, 2017, we awoke to find out that Luna had chewed into a bag of charcoal briquettes. These are known to be toxic, for they were covered in lighter fluid. I immediately called the weekend answering service, hoping to speak to a Vet. Dr. Turban called me back almost immediately and informed me on what should be done. He eased my anxieties. Our Luna is fine. And, I would only entrust Dr. Truman and his staff to care for our baby. They are the best!!

Did not think she would be with me the next morning. Was given an appointment for three days later. Since when is respiratory distress, shortness of breath, labored breathing not an emergency. She suffered through the weekend and I had to put her down with stage four lung cancer multiple masses in both lungs that had not been caught before she was given anesthesia. There are several fantastic vets here. The techs and the front desk staff are great, but when respiratory distress it's not recognized as an emergency, there is no . I will never use them again, especially when no one took responsibility for this

I own a horse and a Service Dog who have received care by the Veterinary professionals from…read more Mountainview from both the Keyser and Petersburg locations. In the past (2019-2023) I experienced quality care--especially by Dr. Duncanw. I moved to Delaware, but recently returned --only to find new staff who in many cases are bullies--don't listen to their customers, and don't know how to do accurate and timely invoices explaining services rendered and itemized charges.. Apparently the Keyser Clinic generates invoices/statements for BOTH clinics--a very strange arrangement causing customers to get the "run around" when a question about the an invoice occurs. Adding to the problem is the irregular hours the billing clerk wotks. No one else can address billing problems? That's their policy. Customers end up calling several times to finally get an answer-- both annoying.and inefficient. The last time I called, I asked to speak to a supervisor, who thereafter refused to allow me to explain why my invoice was incorrect. Instead, she talked loudly over me, told me to "settle down", referred me to the "difference" between a "Statement" and a "bill" --which made no logical sense--and then hung up on me! If I was her boss, and i heard about this kind of behavior, she'd be fired. Customers should come first and treated with respect. So it doesn't surprise me that complaints by other customers are being reported. Vets are scarce in rural WV and MD, but that doesn't give Mountainview the right to be condescending to its customers. A case in point are the bold highlighted portions of invoices sent that insinuate each customer is so ignorant to need such emphasis that the bill is due upon receipt--especially when Mountainview is at fault in the first place for sending bills out delinquently, i.e. months after the care was received. Customers in Mountainview's catchment area have little recourse for animal care. We're stuck. But I refuse to pay for two farm calls and 2 wellness checks within a 2 month period when all the immunizations should have been done on ONE FARM CALL...AND my horse had already had his immunization for the same vaccine five (5) months earlier. I provided the prior immunization documentation when I enrolled my horse with Mountainview. They also performed a Coggins which I never requested!! I already had a Coggins that was only 5 months old. Coggins are valid for one year.

Despite the fact that the rescuer found out and called Mountainview to try to get the dog, they refused and killed him. No respectable vet kills healthy dogs for such a trivial reason! Don't go there!
