Augie's Shoe Service has Sole! I love my husband, but sometimes he can be gloriously oblivious. He came home from the office, settled into the chair across from me, crossed his legs--and suddenly his shoes began telling their story. The soles were practically crying for mercy, while the uppers looked like they had been through a long, hard negotiation with the sidewalk. He mentioned he'd been meaning to go shoe shopping, but hated the thought of giving up the comfort he'd earned breaking these shoes in. That's when I reminded him about Augie's Shoe Repair--the place that brought two pairs of my own "beyond saving" shoes back from the brink. Super wife to the rescue. True to form, Augie worked his magic again. The shoes came back looking remarkably close to brand new. Of course, the soles and heels were replaced as requested, but he didn't stop there. The uppers were refinished, refreshed, reinforced, polished, and even finished off with new laces. It was less shoe repair and more shoe revival. Augie's pride in his craft shows in every detail. He continues to be our household shoe superhero. If he can keep us from buying--and breaking in--new shoes, we'll be very happy soles. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE!! When you find a place that can fix shoes, bags and anything leather related you make sure that you show your appreciation. Ralph is the kind of guy that fixes your beloved items better than you thought imaginable. He's the best. I enjoy hanging with him as much as getting my belongings fixed. I had an issue with a men's Gucci leather shoe that he was able to correct. When I informed the Gucci retailer of the issue and how Ralph repaired it the Gucci representative asked me for his number. They are going to send their clients to Augie's shoe repair! Thank you for always going above and beyond. You keep my shoes and bags looking their best. read more

Excellent experience from the minute I entered the store I was greeted by Ralph who took the time to explain how and what was needed for a proper repair or my boots. Upon returning I was pleased with not only the quality of the repair but the cost was more than fair. I will be returning for any further needs of mine and as well will refer them to all my friends and family. Great job read more

I bought my shoes about 25 years ago. The owner did a fantastic job making my shoes look and function as new again; I am so happy. I will try to post a picture! Thank you to Augie's Shoe service! I also brought in 2 pairs of boots; he showed me the many places they were falling apart. I was able to see that it would not pay to fix them. I appreciate this. read more

Ralph knows his stuff! He may be an acquired taste, but go with the flow. if he feels like talking he will, if he's busy he won't; he's entitled to his moods and feelings. Nevertheless, he knows how to fix shoes, boots, belts, etc. and we are lucky there is someone local who is a cobbler which is a lost art. He is actually very funny. read more

What a great experience! I had gone to a local place first, who promised next day service and couldn't deliver. So I went to Augies and he said he could do same day and did! He not only fixed the heel on the one shoe but fixed both! I found my new shoe repair store! read more

Augies, what an amazing super nice guy owns and runs this establishment I bought in my work leather saddlebag that I've had for about 20 years. It was all ripped up inside and all the zippers were destroyed. I went for him for his opinion to see if it was worth salvaging. He said it was a great bag and that you don't she these made like this anymore so I close my eyes and asked him how much it would be to fix it. Let's put it this way, It did not break the bank. As a matter-of-fact, It was under $100 and now I have basically a brand new bag that's 20 years old with true craftsmanship on sewing and leather work. I can't say enough about this service. read more

I have had this pair of shoes for around 8 years. They're my favorite shoes so they were WELL worn. The heels and soles were worn down, and they were beyond scuffed, but I kept wearing them until finally they gave in and tore down the side. I went to Augie's just expecting them to make them wearable again, but I got so much more. They look new! He fixed the tear and reinforced all the weak areas of the shoe so it won't tear again, replaced the sole, and covered all the scuffs in the perfect color. Seriously they look immaculate! On top of all that, he was super friendly. AND it was super fast! It only took a day. I can't recommend them enough. If you have a pair of shoes that you want to be taken care of, go here! read more

Never Again, I went into shoe store early in the am. I have the man 2 pairs of shoes that needed small tiny pieces of leather on heel. He said 16 and wrote the price on card. I asked when they would be ready. He said, 5:00. I said oh, thst is to late so he said 4:00. I didn't want to say anything as he seemed to be a nasty man. so my husband went to pick up shoes and he charged him 32. Je then commented to my husband,"Oh You Wakt a week to pick up shoes. I went in to ask him why how quoted me. 16 then charged my husband 32. the receit said 16. He said, I misunderstood .He was so nasty from the beginning and most of his good reviews are fake. in addition I found out he did the same to a neighbor. read more

I have large calves and never fit into knee high boots until now! Augie stretched out my leather boots and they now fit perfectly. I went to another shoe repair place prior to see if they could do the same and they wanted to charge me double for essentially ruining my boot by adding extra fabric and a zipper. Very thankful to have found Augie. read more

I went in here the other day with my mother to get the tip of her heel fixed and the guy took apart the hole shoe and only one part needed to be fixed just the tip nothing Else . He tore the hole strap and bottom off and we wear very annoyed and refuse to go back there. I would recommend never going there to get your shoes repaired unless you want a crazy person braking your shoes when only one part needs to be fixed. Ps this place reeks of smoke . read more

Augie goes above and beyond for his customers. Not only did he really do a wonderful job, but his attention to detail to make a lift that isn't noticeable for my son made my wife and I really happy. He didn't have to put the time and effort in, but he did and we really appreciate it. The price was great and the work was top notch. He also turned it around for us in no time so that my son had shoes to play in that fit him well. On top of that, Augie is just a good dude who wants to make his customers happy. If you have a child that needs a lift in their shoes, you won't find a better cobbler. 10/10 read more

Every damaged pair of shoes that I bring to Augie's is retuned to me good as new. Last week I picked up a pair of expensive sling back sandals that I was convinced couldn't be saved, but, No, Augie fixed the vamp, the toe cap and the sole. He also refurbished the high heel shoes I wore home from a bar in a snow storm last winter (4.5 miles; ubers and cabs were not available) that had been wore down to the nub. Again, better than new! He also cleans and polishes the shoes, free of charge. His work is impeccable! Don't throw out your shoes! Bring them to Augie's instead! read more

Absolutely fantastic service. Had my boots resoled and reheeled and had instant relief from debilitating pain. In addition they polished & refurbished them, basically made them new again. The owner seems like a heckuva nice guy and even though I only drop in semiannually, it's always a pleasure to speak with him. Bring cash! They do great work here, made my boots look like new even though I only asked (and paid for) the heel bottoms to be redone. Affordable too! read more

If I could give 10 stars I would , Ralph who is the proprietor is the best, he shines the 5 pair of shoes I wear during the week, to a mirror gloss, with the right colors, changes out the heels or soles to his discretion, I trust him 100%. I brought him a female clients Louis Vuitton handbag, he fixed it better than the LV store did, he didn't charge me, because I'm there weekly. I go in to talk to Ralph without even going to get shoes repaired, I consider him a friend. I bring my sneakers there and he cleans them up, changes the laces and they come out better than when I bought them, I'm talking about leather sneakers that you can't readily throw in the wash. He is a consummate professional, and woman's shoes are a specialty of his. This is the only place to go. read more

I wish I had a before and after picture to show the quality of work that was done. What an excellent job on my wife's boots. She tripped and fell because of a pot hole in a parking lot. She destroyed both tips and ripped the bottom soul away from the boot as well. Brought them into Augies not knowing what could be done. To my amaze when I received them back they were brand new maybe even better then new. So Happy with the outcome. Can't recommend enough. If you need the right job done this is def the place to go!! read more

I decided to come here because they do Ugg boots cleaning! I unfortunately do not have a before picture, but my purple ugg boots were discolored all around the bottom due to rain. It had splotches of light purple, pinks, etc. even the guy asked me when I walked in "What did I spill on them?!" Lol. So I said do the best you can, I'm not expecting perfection. Just a clean up. Well, they look GREAT then how I dropped them off!! It took 2 days for my boots to be cleaned which is not bad at all, and I was able to have my mom pick them up since I'm working from home. They do cash only, but the cleaning price for my awful discolored PURPLE Ugg boots only cost $40!!! I highly recommend coming here for not only Ugg boot cleaning, but for all shoe repair business since the owner and staff are friendly with a personality! Will definitely come back for my other shoes to be repaired or cleaned if needed!! read more

Augie's Shoe Service - just PERFECT! - Shoe Repair Near Me - Bellmore, New York

I'm new to the Bellmore community. I borrowed a pocketbook from my mother and broke the zipper. I googled shoe repair in Bellmore and found Augie's. I called and the man who answered said he would take a look. So I went there and stood at the front while he worked on something and wouldn't even turn to acknowledge me. Finally after a while he turned around and said what can I do for you. I showed him the zipper and he said $45. I said is there anything else you can do maybe fix the zipper he practically threw it at me. He was so rude even the workers smiled at me as I was leaving. As if to apologize for this big bully Lug Augie. Find another place he doesn't deserve your business. read more
