Augie's Shoe Service has Sole! I love my husband, but sometimes he can be gloriously oblivious. He came home from the office, settled into the chair across from me, crossed his legs--and suddenly his shoes began telling their story. The soles were practically crying for mercy, while the uppers looked like they had been through a long, hard negotiation with the sidewalk. He mentioned he'd been meaning to go shoe shopping, but hated the thought of giving up the comfort he'd earned breaking these shoes in. Ralph knows his stuff! He may be an acquired taste, but go with the flow. if he feels like talking he will, if he's busy he won't; he's entitled to his moods and feelings. Augies, what an amazing super nice guy owns and runs this establishment I bought in my work leather saddlebag that I've had for about 20 years. It was all ripped up inside and all the zippers were destroyed. I went for him for his opinion to see if it was worth salvaging. He said it was a great bag and that you don't she these made like this anymore so I close my eyes and asked him how much it would be to fix it. Let's put it this way, It did not break the bank. As a matter-of-fact, It was under $100 and now I have basically a brand new bag that's 20 years old with true craftsmanship on sewing and leather work. I have had this pair of shoes for around 8 years. They're my favorite shoes so they were WELL worn. The heels and soles were worn down, and they were beyond scuffed, but I kept wearing them until finally they gave in and tore down the side. I went to Augie's just expecting them to make them wearable again, but I got so much more. They look new! He fixed the tear and reinforced all the weak areas of the shoe so it won't tear again, replaced the sole, and covered all the scuffs in the perfect color. Seriously they look immaculate! Never Again, I went into shoe store early in the am. I have the man 2 pairs of shoes that needed small tiny pieces of leather on heel. He said 16 and wrote the price on card. I asked when they would be ready. He said, 5:00. I said oh, thst is to late so he said 4:00. I didn't want to say anything as he seemed to be a nasty man. so my husband went to pick up shoes and he charged him 32. Je then commented to my husband,"Oh You Wakt a week to pick up shoes. I went in to ask him why how quoted me. 16 then charged my husband 32. the receit said 16. He said, I misunderstood .He was so nasty from the beginning and most of his good reviews are fake. in addition I found out he did the same to a neighbor. read more

I have large calves and never fit into knee high boots until now! Augie stretched out my leather boots and they now fit perfectly. I went in here the other day with my mother to get the tip of her heel fixed and the guy took apart the hole shoe and only one part needed to be fixed just the tip nothing Else . He tore the hole strap and bottom off and we wear very annoyed and refuse to go back there. I would recommend never going there to get your shoes repaired unless you want a crazy person braking your shoes when only one part needs to be fixed. Ps this place reeks of smoke . read more

Every damaged pair of shoes that I bring to Augie's is retuned to me good as new. Last week I picked up a pair of expensive sling back sandals that I was convinced couldn't be saved, but, No, Augie fixed the vamp, the toe cap and the sole. He also refurbished the high heel shoes I wore home from a bar in a snow storm last winter (4.5 miles; ubers and cabs were not available) that had been wore down to the nub. Again, better than new! If I could give 10 stars I would , Ralph who is the proprietor is the best, he shines the 5 pair of shoes I wear during the week, to a mirror gloss, with the right colors, changes out the heels or soles to his discretion, I trust him 100%. I brought him a female clients Louis Vuitton handbag, he fixed it better than the LV store did, he didn't charge me, because I'm there weekly. I go in to talk to Ralph without even going to get shoes repaired, I consider him a friend. I bring my sneakers there and he cleans them up, changes the laces and they come out better than when I bought them, I'm talking about leather sneakers that you can't readily throw in the wash. I wish I had a before and after picture to show the quality of work that was done. What an excellent job on my wife's boots. She tripped and fell because of a pot hole in a parking lot. She destroyed both tips and ripped the bottom soul away from the boot as well. Brought them into Augies not knowing what could be done. To my amaze when I received them back they were brand new maybe even better then new. So Happy with the outcome. Can't recommend enough. I decided to come here because they do Ugg boots cleaning! I unfortunately do not have a before picture, but my purple ugg boots were discolored all around the bottom due to rain. It had splotches of light purple, pinks, etc. even the guy asked me when I walked in "What did I spill on them?!" Lol. So I said do the best you can, I'm not expecting perfection. Just a clean up. Well, they look GREAT then how I dropped them off!! It took 2 days for my boots to be cleaned which is not bad at all, and I was able to have my mom pick them up since I'm working from home. They do cash only, but the cleaning price for my awful discolored PURPLE Ugg boots only cost $40!!! I highly recommend coming here for not only Ugg boot cleaning, but for all shoe repair business since the owner and staff are friendly with a personality!
