This is a terrible company. The owner offers a lifetime warranty against cracking and when my gate cracked because it was not installed properly (I had the out twice to address the issue) he told me it was cracking from damage. Nothing ever happened to that gate. I spent over 8k and they will not stand behind their product. I would not recommend this company unless you enjoy lighting your money on fire! read more

Very unhappy with our cedar fence. Sections of the fence have fallen down two times in less then 6 months. Instead of doweling the post, they toenailed cheap screws. They said they would fix it for weeks and weeks, but never showed up. We have to hire another fence company to fix it now. Do not use this company! They are rip-offs and liars! read more

Very unhappy with a new next door neighbor who went to Audubon Fence. In 1999 the three owners ago of our house (right next door to their customer) - and who was employed as the Haddon Heights attorney at the time -- installed their fence in the neighbor's yard (9" in the front and over 5' in the back. They got a permit from the town, and American Discount installed it. Neither stepped up to move my fence, or the owner) Most of that fence is not in good shape now, and the owner of Audubon Fence suggested to the new owner that the fence was in their yard and they have the right to throw it away. I've been in Haddon Hts for 30 years - 10 years on this block and 20 years on Prospect Ridge. That was word for word the response I got from this new neighbor. Horrible. read more

Do not use this company. The day of installation the crew didn't show until 10am. As they're setting up and taking down my old fence, I watched one of the workers cut off an 8 inch section off the bottom of one of the new posts. I thought this odd but I didn't say anything about it at the time. This process continued until I challenged the crew chief (Gabe) about it. He tried to tell me that the ground was too hard and that's why they were cutting off the bottoms of the posts. I told him that I felt it was BS and that I watched them cut off the bottom of other posts before they had even dug the first holes. They then tried to hide the evidence by putting the pieces that they had cut off into the back of their truck. I was able to retrieve a few pieces of post and one was 2 feet long That meant that post was only in the ground one foot. Others were up to 16 inches long. With that, I once again had a heated discussion with the crew chief. I tried to call Audubon Fence to complain, but they stopped answering the phone. At 1pm the crew stopped and took lunch for an hour. When they returned the crew chief said he had to leave because he had an appointment. He didn't return for 2 hours. This made it difficult to communicate with the crew because the crew chief was the only one who spoke English. I feel that cutting off the bottom of the posts was standard operating procedure for this crew to cut corners. And if I hadn't been watching and challenged them about it, this process would have continued, because once it's in the ground, the customer has no clue that the posts are not in the ground the standard 36 inches according to code and below the frost line. read more

I would recommend looking elsewhere for a fence company that does the work themselves. They seem to just hire contractors to build the fence. I had the privilege of being home when they came to install the fence. Definitely not the quality I was expecting. Picture this... We got a vinyl fence from them. On the same straight wall there are three different size panels. Some have 10 boards that make up a panel. Others have 15 boards and one has 19... it doesn't take rocket science to measure out where the post holes go. There was nothing preventing them from digging a hole anywhere along the fence line. All they needed to do is take some from the one that has 19 and add it to the other one that has 10. I get that it may not always be perfect a board or two off due to the length of the wall but this was just sloppy work. My next issue is that they didn't install self closing hinges on our fence which I believe is required around a pool. I specifically asked for this. Another issue... one of my posts wasn't level. Much further down in the soil. I asked them to bring it up. All they did was lift it up so it was level. Didn't back fill. After the first rain I now have a fence post that is 4 inches lower on a perfectly level wall. One post wiggles and didn't notice until they left that they took a piece of a branch to keep it study when removed it's worse. I also know that a company with experience puts a wood post or aluminum I beam inside the bottom of the vinyl fence post to make it more rigid. It can only be in the bottom 3 or so feet because a vinyl fence actually clips into the post about an 1 1/2" or so. They did not do this for us on any of the posts. I saw the I beams on my lawn when everything was delivered so why did these people choose not to do it? Feel like they just stole material from my job for the next. When I reached out to the company to correct the issue they said to text pictures which I have done. They told me they called the contractor. This is as far as I got. Part of me hopes they read this less than pleasant review and pick up the phone to resolve this issue. They are holding my renovation to our back yard up. I don't want to block the fence with something and have to move it or dig up plants to fix the issue. I understand people make mistakes. What will make or break my interaction with this company is how they react to a poor rating. If they give me attitude in a comment it shows their customer service could use some work. If they resolve my issue peacefully I will change my review. I also realize the company may be busy at this time with other jobs but giving me an idea when it will be resolved would be helpful as well. read more

What a weird experience I had with Audubon Fence. I called to get an estimate for a fence replacement (On 10/22). They said that I was in luck, and someone would be able to come out the next day (10/23), at 4pm, because they would already be in the area. I waited around, and finally decided to give them a call at 5:30 on 10/23. The call went through and the man that answered assured me that they must be running late, and that I would receive a call back in 5 minutes. That never happened- I received a call at 9:04am 10/24. I called back later, but it seems like there is an answering service? They noted that they would "pass along the message" For being so highly recommended, I can't believe that they would be a no-call, no show, and offer no apologies. read more

Great experience, especially during a 3 month covid back log! Not their fault, manufacturer issue like with everything else in covid times. All responsive (unlike the other 2 fence companies I tried) from the nice sales guy, nice lady on the phone with updates, nice workers who did a great job and I absolutely love the result! And luckily after a big storm, a 25 year old big tree feel AWAY from the new fence lol. Thank goodness! I set an appointment for an estimate about one week from my call which was OK. I took a half day from work to meet the salesman for 1pm he calls at 1:30 telling me his running late and would like to reschedule. We agree on 2:30 the same day. The salesman then just never shows up, no call and the offices never calls me either. So I burn PTO time for nothing because the company does not maintain their commitments. I had the pleasure of have fencing installed today by Audubon Fenicing of Brooklyn, NJ. The installers were here ten minutes early and got right to work. I had about 100 feet of fencing to be removed with new vinyl to be installed. Without exaggeration, the whole job was completed in 2 1/2 hours. And that includes cleaning up and removal of the old fencing. I couldn't be any happier. The office staff was congenial also. Oh, and di I say that they were the least expensive? So draw you own conclusions, but if I ever need to replace any more fencing or to give a recommendation, It's Audubon Fencing. read more

WORST customer service! Owner's excuse: "WE'RE JUST THE MIDDLEMAN". Ordered fence and paid half upfront, then waited 6 weeks for product to be made and the install date. Date of install, my fence arrives without gates that were ordered. Owner came to property with two mismatched gates to enclose yard for our pets and his excuse is " we're just the middleman", NO apology, NO acknowledgement of customer disappointment, NO courtesy whatsoever! Called the office the next day to ask when the estimated date of gates would be. Office said they would call the manufacturer to get an estimated date and then call me back, but the gates would be installed as soon as they came in. I called the office numerous times trying to get the same information about gate arrival and NEVER got the call back, even when promised... that is the ONE time they texted me to give me information on gate arrival. Install crew was fabulous and installed the correct gates 35 days after the fence, just showed up that day and did the rest of the job without any notification. in all fairness, the install crew was excellent and I let them know it. They should open their own business. HIGHLY encourage anyone who needs fencing to go elsewhere!!!! Fence product made by Jerith is fabulous and you can buy it direct online! I got about 7 estimates to install about 90 feet of fence and Audubon Fencing had the best one. Seriously, one place that I won't name quoted over $1000 more than what Audubon did. Anyway, we went with them as they had the best price and warranty. The guys came around 9 and were done by 1pm. It was a very hot day and they didn't skip a beat. I had so many issues with this company and surprised they are still in business. My fence was so poorly installed, it made me cry. They were so unprofessional and never came back to fix the mess. They avoided my phone calls. I knew this because when marking my phone as private or calling from some place else, they would pick up the phone. I asked them to fix the back panel that they buried and was not level (along with MANY of the panels). They came back and cut (instead of fixing) panels and left broken pieces in my yard along with cigarettes. My fence posts could be move with one finger. Do Not pay them in full if they did not complete the job or need to fix something because you won't hear from them! PLEASE do NOT use them unless you don't care about having a level fence. read more

Not a professional company. We called them in July to get an estimate for fencing for our house. The day came for the estimate and They called the first time the day of and ask to reschedule. They said because of the weather the day before they are backed up. So they reschedule for the Saturday. Come Saturday they called again asking to reschedule again an hour before he had to be at my house.he said he had car trouble. Then the next day he said he had health issue. People get your story straight before you lie to a potential customer. We decided after couple months we would try them again in November And again they called and ask to reschedule an hour before he was supposed to be at our house he said he had to take his daughter somewhere. My husband had enough he said this is the Third time your canceling on me either you come today or don't at all . Mind you we work we had to get off early to be home for this company to come. The guy said he will come between 430pm -5pm. And here we are still has not shown up. This company is very unprofessional and would not recommend them to anyone!! read more

Poor customer service when requesting that my fence be fixed due to height causing an issue with neighbors because my dog is slipping out. I kindly requested that the same crew that was weak (meaning not enough manpower because not enough people on the crew - and Ed said he was short manpower) not be sent out to inspect. I called for a solution, not a new fence. I requested the first crew that was here rather than the install crew. I was called ignorant and hung up on because I have been away on vacation and didn't address this last month after install. Customer service is a joke. They have no idea what that is. Who am I to Complain. We had some small sections of Vinyl fence and (2) Vinyl gates installed in October 2020. Because of backlog we got pushed back a couple weeks on the install. The workers finally arrived at 7:00 pm to install. By the end, they were literally installing this fence and gates with the lights on their cell phones. Overall, the gates look good and the job was completed as hired. In time, the gates need to be SLAMMED shut to work properly. I'm not sure if that is common. In July of of 2021 one of the latches broke. I reached out to see if they could fix since it was not a year yet. I sent multiple emails and calls over the next several MONTHS with no prevail. I ended up buying a latch kit ($30 home depot) this week (3/19/22) and fixing myself. I would not use Audubon Fence in the future. I cannot recommend them based on delays, responsible support and follow up on their workmanship. read more

We promptly called these guys to set up a date and time for a site visit. The gentlemen who came out said that we'd have a cost by the end if the day. THAT WAS OVER A MONTH AGO. 4 phone calls later, only one returned call, and still no cost. How these people are still in business boggles my mind. Called to schedule an estimate for pool fencing and that my permit was waiting on a proposed fence being to code. I'm basically telling them that I'm going to be buying a fence from them. They schedule me for the next week-Thursday. I patiently wait for the estimate and the night before they call me to tell me that they made a mistake and can't come. They reschedule me for the next day. So here I am, 6 hours before the estimate and they're calling me again to say they're too busy to see me today and how about next week. No sense of urgency and really no sense at all. Why wouldn't you make yourself available for 15-20 minutes to make probably a guaranteed $1000? It's not a complicated estimate, literally 50 feet of straight fencing. Don't waste your time with them...because that's what will happen with a company that doesn't value your time. read more

I called the office for a free estimate. The appointment was 2 weeks out. They called the day before to confirm the appointment I confirmed. The next day at 2 pm since Covid and working from home I waited I did not receive a phone call nothing. I was truly annoyed and wasted an hour of my time, I thought let me give them the benefit of the doubt. I call back the office they put me on hold I guess to contact "Jimmy" so Jimmy calls me. He claims to have been at my place and describes it. Then he claims to have called me. I said send me the screen shot where you called. Not only did I not receive the screen shot he also said he would come back out after 3 pm and again never showed. I think maybe he went to Tricia's house? He referred to me as Tricia to which I had to correct him. If Jimmy is doing your estimate I would ask for someone else. Now, I still need a fence and from how they do business I would not recommend them. It is so hard to find a company to do simple work take pride in their work and care about how they do business. read more

This has been the worst customer service experience I've had in a while. Johnny Wondolowski was unprofessional, gruff, and arrogant, with the social skills you'd expect from a stevedore rather than a salesman. To his credit, he did pick up his phone when I called, although his degree of professionalism dropped off after he said hello. He offered no information about the permit process, so be sure you're aware of what that process entails for your town, if you choose to go with this company, who prides itself on its employees over its customers. In addition, he provided no follow-up, regarding start date for the work, and that was after I offered to pay him half at the time of the second estimate, with a credit card. He smiled eagerly, but then he said the office would reach out. They did not. I had to call them in order to find out when the work was expected to begin. Not surprisingly, Johnny Wondolowski's claim that materials had been ordered (by Chuckie) and that work would commence at the end of June did not happen. They bumped us into July because he didn't let them know and/or the office didn't deign us important enough or the job big enough (over $7000 isn't a little job, I wouldn't think) to contact us. When I didn't hear back from them for over a week, I took it upon myself to call to check on the status of the job only to learn that the the start date had been bumped up from late June to July 8. Thanks Johnnie. I mean no thanks. To secure your date, and get him to do what he says he will do, I would recommend that you chase after Johnnie with a bag of cash, your check book or credit card to pay half (get a receipt) before he leaves if you want to get the work done at the agreed upon start date. But, be sure to follow up with the office, because Johnny isn't going to do it. Actually, go with another fence company. That's what Chuckie (Johnnie's boss) told me to do and what I will do. Now, to be fair, Chuckie provided good customer service when I inquired about the details of the fence regulations for my town. He is very knowledgeable about what the regs are for each town. If Johnnie was knowledgeable, he didn't share it during the "sales pitch." But, Chuckie turned rude and caustic when I called to complain about the poor communication, which resulted in the start date of the work getting extended. He told me find another fence company, if I didn't like it. He too has his threshold for dealing with customers, and it isn't very high, in my experience. Depending on what you're doing fence-wise, you might find them to be a little less expensive than other fence companies of equal repute ( I did my homework, believe me, having secured estimates from several fence companies, one of which I will end up going with (Fence USA is quite professional), but if you have to deal with unprofessional people who tell you to use another fence company if you don't like it, a couple of hundred bucks more is worth getting what you asked for and worth the trust they will instill in you with the better communication and agreed upon start dates. Go elsewhere for fencing, is my recommendation. read more

I called Audubon Fence on 4/24/19 and scheduled an estimate on 5/1/19. John came out and took the measurements and said I'd have the written estimate within a couple of days. Two weeks and 4 phone calls later, I still don't have the estimate. Every time I called they assured me they'd get it to me with one or another excuse of why I didn't have it (really busy, had to get different cost because they don't do post and rail, etc.) They were recommended to us by a neighbor so I didn't check reviews (stupid me.) I think we'll go with another company - if we use Audubon, the fence probably wouldn't be installed until 2020. read more

I have a $10,000 on a fence that can't keep my dog in!!! DO NOT USE THEM!! Overally, most were friendly, however they failed at the job they were hired to do. It took 5 wks from 1st day of install to final day (NOT incl time between est and 1st day)! We informed them and specifically ordered extra narrow slats due to our rescue dog being only 7 lbs. They installed the fence up to 8in off of the ground in some places!! They neglected to have a forman on site, nor did a walk thru after as there paperwork ensures. Learn from my VERY expensive mistake!! Jesse and Kathy were both wonderful. It's such a shame that they are associated with this company. I used Audubon fencing and they were great with sales and installation, but they gave me such a run around when the latch snapped and broke about 6 months after installation. I called and it was never the person who I spoke to who could handle the issue. After multiple phone calls with one person saying they thought they could "take care of it " for me, they sent someone out to look at it who put a proposed bill in my mailbox for $125. After a few more phone calls to them I gave up. I priced the latch online for $39 and was going to buy it and install it myself. But then a lightbulb went off in my head and I emailed the manufacturer. The contact person there said no problem, "send a picture of the latch and I will send you a new one" The amount of aggravation that Audubon Fence gave me over an inexpensive part negated any positives that had happened. My job was $2700 for a small area and I would have given them a great review if they had gotten back to me quickly and replaced that one inexpensive part. read more

STAY AWAY!!!! BY FAR THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DELT WITH IN MY LIFE! I had a SIGNED CONTRACT for an aluminum fence over a 10k job for them signed and accepted by them on March 1st of 2016 and literally after giving them the go ahead after my pool company was ready to have the fence installed I was given the run around from them for over 2 weeks saying that they were busy with other projects and that they would come the very next day, that very next day was over 2 weeks and the Saturday before Memorial Day the guy John who was my sales rep sends me a text message at 7 in the morning saying that they cannot do the job at all with no explanation nothing! No answers as to why. My whole pool project was depending upon the fence being installed so now I am scrambling to find another fence contractor that will delay my project by at least another 3-5 weeks because a new company will have to order the parts. They also kept my money all 4K of it for my deposit and said it has been returned when it was not. Will be calling my lawyer and the police. THIS IS HORRIBLE and no one EVER should have to go thru this when they book something with a contractor months in advance. SHAME ON YOU! read more
