I have always wanted to have my teeth straightened but my childhood dentist told me due to having what he called Extreme Under-bite, the only way to correct my smile would be to have my jaws broken and he suggested just braces would be a waste of time. I decided to have a consultation with West Paces Ferry Orthodontist to see what they thought and it was good news. I decided to go with the invisilign since you can wear them and they are not as noticeable as braces and can be removed at anytime, although you have to wear them at least 22 hours a day. Also, I only have to wear them for 18 months. The cost is average for Invisalign and there are a couple of payment options including financing. The team at West Paces Ferry are all friendly and they walk you through each step of the process so you are well informed and make the best decision based off of your needs. It's been 5 months and I already see a big difference in my smile, I get compliments all the time on my smile now.

The bad reviews are probably from people who think that they know better than someone who a) went to school for this and b) has been in practice many, many years. PS I had braces as a teenager and didn't wear my retainer. My teeth shifted back in no time. The kids' step-mom had braces twice when she was younger but needed more than just braces to correct her "gummy" smile. My son was told from an early age that he would need mandibular advancement surgery just like is father. Dr. Yurfest corrected this problem with a MARA appliance. Cobb Dental expressions is the name of the practice, they have a separate Yelp so you can see more reviews. The Good: You walk in the door and there is cookies and coffee for you. Who wants to be at the dentist without your morning coffee? The staff is friendly and personable. Lots of chatter about the family and kids and such. Hygienists are friendly and fast. Dr. Mazzuchelli tends for the least invasive options first and if you're seeing him regularly, generally he doesn't need to drill anything. The Bad: The office is in an old strip mall that's seen better days. The whole place is kinda small and there aren't many rooms. I don't really care about the look that much because the people and service matter to me. Others might want a more modern office. The Tech: They use digital sensors for the xrays so that reduces the amount of radiation compared to the old plate bitewings. They also have used a "sand blast" technique for cavities instead of drilling. It meant no pain for the cavity, but the inside of my mouth felt like I'd eaten captain crunch. So it's a trade off. Summary: I have and will continue to recommend Dr. Mazzuchelli to anyone and everyone who wants a good dentist. The office is thorough, fair and absolutely honest (despite other Yelper's claims).

After a tragedy in my life in 2009 I stopped going to the dentist. Things like that just fell by…read morethe wayside as I dealt with my grief. Ten years went buy quickly and I still hadn't been to a dentist. I began to worry a bit as I had a tooth that had been painful off and on for that whole time. A few months ago decided that I had pushed it long enough and needed to see what was going on with my tooth before it became a real problem. I didn't know where to go and was truthfuly afraid at what might be discovered. I was really afraid I was going to need a root canal. To make a long story short, I went to two fancy dental offices, one in Buckhead and one in Norcross and was grossly disappointed. The one in Buckhead did a thorough examination and then told me I needed $5,000 worth of dental work. I felt like I was at a car dealership, they even had a little office they wanted you to sit in after the exam while they tried to "close" you and actually tried to get me to sign something while I was still in the exam chair, comitting to a next appointment...that was the first red flag for me. They wanted me to commit to $5,000 worth of work on the spot and sign papers to that effect. I told them I needed to think about it and got the heck out of there. The next Dentist was in Norcross and this guy had the approach of being the "cool" dentist, all pumped up on steroids etc. He called me "man" and roughly banged around on my teeth with a piece of metal and after a quick exam said I needed a root canal and to go get one and come back and he's "slap" a crown on the tooth. I had a feeling it was the wrong place for me as soon as I walked in. The furniture looked like it was from a night club and the receptionist was showing more cleavage than a Hooters girl....not really the kind of things I want to see at my Dentist's office....not confidence inspiring in my book. I was becoming frustrated as there a million Dentists out there and I didn't know who to trust and my tooth was becoming increasingly painful and I was getting really worried. I next asked a trusted counselor if he had any recommendations and he said he had a wonderful dentist. He recommended Dr. William Reagin. I called that day and made an appointment for a consultation. I immediately felt at ease in Dr. Reagins office. It was not in a fancy building with a fancy address, the waiting room was not full of blaring TV's and no one called me "man". Dr Reagin did a thorough exam on my tooth and verified without a doubt that the nerve was dead and that I needed a root canal and a crown as the tooth had a crack in it. Neither of the other dentists told me that my tooth was cracked and the first one didn't even say I needed a root canal. It would have been really bad for me if they had put a crown on a tooth that subsequently needed a root canal. I am grateful to have found Dr. Reagin. He is a very nice man who instilled confidence in me that he was correct in his diagnosis and treatment plan. The root canal was a piece of cake, I had no pain during or after and now have a nice porcelin tooth "crown", which looks natural in my mouth. I just noticed today that I no longer had to worry about not chewing too hard on that side of my mouth as I had done for ten years with my cracked tooth and decided to sit down and write this review. Dr. Reagin has been in practice for 50 years if I'm not mistaken. His daughter in law is also a Dentist in the practice. It is truly a family run practice, the likes of which are difficult to find these days. Everyone who works there was just as nice as can be. For the firsrt time in my life I can say that I will look forward to going to the Dentist.

Before I went for my…read moreroot canal procedure, all my friends were wishing me luck and made the procedure sounded like a horror movie which I would be in playing victim of course. Turned out, I could talk right after my root canal. It didn't really hurt for me. I was too happy and my friends were surprised. Dr. Harris did not talk much during the procedure but was definitely very professional. I agreed with another reviewer who said all an endodontist needs to do a root canal is a drill and some tools. I agree, there are no fancy chairs or music, or plush couch to sit while waiting for the staff to call me in only to be seated on an old chair. The sight of old equipments around did make me a little uneasy at first but the professionalism Dr Harris has shown me and the very wonderful nurse there had put me at ease right away. The front office staffs were very nice to me too. Turned out the charges I paid here was a lot lower than many other places whom my friends paid for their root canal procedures. That was definitely a bonus!! If there was yelp at that time, I probably would not have come here. I am glad there was not and I took a chance and chose Dr Harris out of a list of endodontists my dentist's office had given me. I was surprised to see the negative reviews here and felt strongly to penned down my very own experience. I also felt Dr. Harris was being misunderstood. The equipments may not be 5 stars but the root canal procedure by Dr Harris certainly deserves nothing less than 5 stars!!

Very mixed on Dr. Harris. I was taken aback by his age (he told me he enlisted in the Navy in 1947,…read moreso that would put him at around 88 years of age) and the equipment that appeared to be from the 1950's at least. He took film X-rays (not digital) and the hygienist over-exposed the first set so they had to be redone. Dr. Harris took the time to sketch out what he was going to do in advance, which was nice...I admit I wasn't looking at the sketch but was watching to see if his hands shook (they did not). He has clearly done root canals a million times, which is a good thing. I wonder, though, if he's kept up with newer techniques and technology. My tooth continued to hurt for months after the root canal until my dentist ground down one cuspid which was hitting wrong - don't know if that was related to the root canal or not. BUT she said Dr. Harris had only put in a temporary filling. He was supposed to tell me to go to my dentist to put in a permanent filling, but he didn't tell me to do this. Other than this, I apparently got a good root canal, but I felt very unsettled the whole time. I wouldn't go back.

I needed several filings & stopped in Dr. Smits office and was talking to the receptionist- Cathy. She was kind, informative and professional. As we were speaking Dr .Smith came up and introduced himself and spoke with me also. I made an appointment and wow- what a difference of a visit from my previous experiences at prior dentists. He did a consult & explained everything. My first appointment went better than I expected. They give you time to unwind and calm down before they start working on you. They are patient and professional and he always explains everything. I have had several appointments since then and he has even worked on my orthotic mouth piece and I am headache free now. Each appointment has always went well. They address you by name as soon as you walk in their door & keep you informed if there is going to be a wait. I have spoken with Cindy also and she & Cathy have handled insurance claims for me with lightning speed. I am thankful that I found this practice and each member of our family will be coming here.
