I took my guitar to Repair Land after another local musician told me it was the only place in the desert that worked on guitars. I later learned that wasn't true. When I walked into the shop, it appeared more like a personal living space than a professional repair facility. I left my guitar for service and, when I picked it up, I was disappointed to find that very little seemed to have been done. The issues I brought it in for were largely unchanged, and I felt that the quality of the work did not justify the cost or effort. After that experience, I attended the guitar festival on Miles Avenue in Indio and spoke with several musicians and vendors. To my surprise, a number of people I spoke with did not recommend Repair Land and shared their own negative opinions and experiences regarding the business. Because the owner has publicly claimed to work on a very large number of instruments each month, some of us became curious about the level of activity at the shop. A vehicle equipped with a camera was parked on the public street nearby over several days, and based on what was observed during that time, there appeared to be very little customer traffic coming and going. Obviously, everyone can draw their own conclusions, but between my personal experience, the feedback I heard from other musicians at the guitar show, and what I observed afterward, I would not trust this shop with another instrument. I would strongly encourage musicians to explore other repair options in the Coachella Valley before making a decision.

Once my files were received, I got good updates. The payment system is old, you fill out a pdf and email it back, which felt like a security concern for my card info. But, so it goes. When I went to pick them up, the lobby was clean and comfortable. The folks sitting at the front desk were helpful and I was out of there in 15 minutes. Parking is easy and ample. Worth the drive.

Marc and company were very communicative and answered our many questions in the lead-up to the wedding. They have you fill out a questionnaire which gets you to think about which style of video you'd like, documentary or cinematic, and which songs you'd like included. We opted for cinematic. A few days prior to the wedding, we were notified that Jessica would be our videographer. She showed up right on time the day of the wedding after verifying which rooms we'd be getting ready in. Jessica was lovely to work with and it helped she also got along great with our photographers (I think she'd worked with some of them before). Right on schedule, about two months later, she reached out to us to let us know that both our trailer and our full wedding video were ready. The videos did not disappoint; they were equal parts beautiful and touching and included several of our favorite wedding songs including our first dance song. It was the right call for us to opt for cinematic; it was very moving to watch our wedding day unfold as if it was a shorter feature length film. We asked for our full video to include the entirety of both of our vows and it was wonderful to have those both captured.
