Floored by the service I received by the Pottstown team! Before I share how awesome my experience was with Audio Sensations, first let me start off by explaining my scenario. My wife bought a head unit from Best Buy thinking we would save money on the unit and have them install it into our son's Honda Civic since he was keeping the stock (Premium sound system) speakers. This was one of his Christmas presents that he was excited to get installed! Well, the first visit to "Best Buy" we find out upon arriving for the install that they didn't even order the correct part for installation, so we had to order a part ourselves ASAP so it was delivered in time for my rescheduled date. The following week, we dropped off the car for the second visit expecting it to finally get done. An hour later, the install specialist called me to say "he took the car apart & uncovered an internal amp installed into the system, which was outside of his scope of expertise, so he was not going to be able to do the install'.
At this point, I went back, thanked the kid for his honestly, and left disgusted that I wasted 2 weeks dealing with a Big Box store. So I took the product and went home to do the install myself. I have experience with audio/video, and had installed a few car stereos 30 years ago when I was a teen. Well, with all the new technology (Navigation, Bluetooth, Steering controls, etc) it was trickier than I expected.
AUDIO SENSATIONS TO THE RESCUE!! I drove over to the Pottstown location and the wonderful couple working there inside the store could not have been more kind and helpful. She was able to help me source the correct part I needed, and he took the time to make a phone call to verify if the color coding wires inside the Honda were in fact what both he and I were suspecting, as there were a few additional wires (which were probably what confused the BB guy). He even came out to my car and spent a little time with me making sure I knew what to do, even knowing that I had just bought nearly everything somewhere else (with the exception of some wiring and a backup camera, which the new head unit could support). This level of service is not common these days, and certainly deserves to be noted.
In hind sight, I wish we would have bought the head unit from Audio Sensations instead. Yeah, it would have been a few dollars more. But that unit had a few extra features than the one we bought. And, the cost difference we would have spent buying from them instead of BB is FAR LESS than the amount of gas I spent traveling to and from BB, the time I spent installing it myself (a day and a half), and the frustration and stress I experienced disassembling the car dash multiple times to get things perfect. I should have remember the old quip, "You Get What You Pay For".
In closing, I want to thank Audio Sensations Pottstown for their unselfish help and kindness. I've since told this story to many of my friends who also have kids with older cars, or anyone having older cars needing newer toys. Next time any car needs anything, I'm simply going to take it to them, and YOU SHOULD TOO! read more
