Making my way to Saghalie Running Track (and Park) on Saturday 9 March 2024, the weather was a…read morelittle windy and on the cooler side. The entrance to the park was well marked and had a sign by the drive in indicating it was Saghalie Park. The parking lot was decent sized and easy to maneuver in my compact vehicle. There was a worker out and about picking up trash/performing general maintenance. I found a number of different sport areas including a sandy area with a volleyball net. Thought that was cool, a city version of beach volleyball next to a running track that was even equipped with space for straightway sprints. A few other visitors were present on my visit and everyone kept to themselves/their group. Bleacher(s) around the track provided a place to sit if one wanted. The surface of the track was a softer material with lines/lanes marked.

My four year old daughter was in the daycare/preschool program for about 2 months after we moved to…read morethe area. The caregivers, teacher and director constantly complained about her needing individual attention. They would tell me stories of what my daughter was doing but NEVER what lead to the outburst nor what they did to calm the situation...only that my daughter was a problem. My daughter is an active child which did not conform to their "ideal" student and i was warned that she would be withdrawn from the program if i didn't seek help from a doctor. We saw a pediatrician and a naturopathy doctor who deemed that my daughter was just an average 4 year old. The daycare never mentioned that they wanted her on meds but that was the driver for pushing me to get her "help". The director of this center should not work for a daycare much less a religious organization. My daughter could feel that that women was not there to help her. When my daughter was dragged to the directors office, because the caregivers didn't want to deal with her, the director would have to call me so I could talk to her over the phone and calm her down. It was common for my daughter to be hiding under a table or chair and i would have to talk her out. My daughter was treated as though she was the problem and i was treated i was contributing to the problem. We withdrew her and hired a nanny. I'm a single mom so finding a nanny within my budget was a challenge to say the least. My daughter is now enrolled in a preschool program through the public school system and is doing just fine. In summery, if your child is calm, quiet and submissive they will do fine there but if your child isn't all of the above please cut your losses and find another daycare/preschool.
