I have been to this theater pre-covid in 2019 and after they opened again in 2021. Both fabulous shows (South Pacific and 42nd Street), both Broadway-level talent and professionalism. The theater itself is/was called the Merry Go Round Playhouse as it used to house a carousel. I believe the building is about 100 years old. The grounds are in a park and overlooking a lake, and there is a patio area and seating to enjoy wine and snacks before the show or during intermission. The restrooms (at least the women's) could use some extra attention and/or a renovation - they are small and not going to pass a stringent cleanliness check. Other than that, the experiences here have been a fun date night/road trip. If you like musical theater, this is a must do!

The space has a stage opposite a large open floor "seating" area. Tables and chairs available to use. A bathroom in the main venue space. The lower level has three more bathrooms, a "kitchen prep" area (no oven but lots of counter space for slow cookers/etc), and 2 spaces that can be utilized as dressing rooms. The main level is handicap accessible (all flat/level flooring). Interior is beautiful and the manager is great at getting back to you/working with you to make the event the best it can be. Perfect setting for showers, parties, or even a small wedding. Ample parking! A gem that should definitely not be overlooked.

Well, I just went to see Guys and Dolls. The last play I went to was The Jersey Boys before all…read morethis woke crap. The acting and music was great but I could not get past a male playing a lead female role. It just ruined it for me. I felt like I was at a woke college campus playhouse where the players were alphabet soup people parading around. Not sure if I can go see another play again if they are going to be doing this to all the plays. The only way I could honestly rate this is if there were categories to rate separately so I was restricted to giving it a 1-star rating. Again, the acting and music was great, and it was entertaining but I walked out of there wondering what the hell did I just witness? I just don't understand how less than 1% of the population has to ruin everything for the rest of the 99%.

The stairs in the balcony section are steep but I found the seats, themselves, to be quite comfortable. The sound and view from my seats were also always excellent. The venue made check in quick and easy which was appreciated. The theatre did feel crowded at times but we were able to navigate to our seats with no issue. Bathrooms located on upper and lower level were clean. Food and drinks were available including beer and wine. Food options were limited to candy and snack items. The sound carried well for our concert and the seats were okay. Not the most comfortable but I understand it is an older theatre. I only wish we had more room for dancing during the show, as it was a tight squeeze. The theatre has many striking features that give it a grand feeling. You can look around and see history in the design. Overall, a good experience seeing David Byrne in concert here.

The staff was friendly and welcoming, the seats were comfortable and were not cramped -- we were in the second row left. We felt like we were on stage. I didn't use the ladies' room or visit the bar, which I was told is a beautiful copper bar. 4 stars instead of 5 because the act itself was not of the caliber I expected. Perhaps it was a one-off. I look forward to returning again if I am in the area.

BVT is a gem of a summer stock theatre company located in Naples, NY! It's about an hour drive from…read moredowntown Rochester, and provides a wonderful day trip opportunity, given the proximity to the finger lakes, wineries, and gorgeous views. The theatre itself a repurposed church, replete with pews for seating (gorgeous on the eyes, less kind on the tushy if you're settling in for a longer musical or play.) Like any good summer theater company, they turn shows around within a week and the sets are always top notch. In addition to their summer season, they offer a reading program for emerging writers where plays can be previewed by the Naples community, AND a summer education program for Naples students. The staff is wonderful and welcoming. BVT is my go-to for all things Finger Lakes entertainment, and I am looking forward to seeing what they have in store for summer 2019!
