This eye care center is a gem. Used to a big city standards, im often having a hard time adjusting to different ways of how business is handled upstate NY, but this place did not disappoint a bit. During my visit for an eye exam and lenses replacement today three people stood out right away: McKenna, Scott, and Dr Boyea. I was submerged into their warmth, professionalism, friendliness, and knowledge - pleasant from beginning to the end, this experience left me feeling content and relaxed. Had a girl name Stephanie call me yesterday about my insurance asked me to call her tomorrow cause it was 450 pm when she called. Called this morning a girl named tammy wouldn't let me talk to her said she was general manager she told me this about 4 times. I asked to speak to Stephanie she said she was with a customer I said ok have her call me. Then this tammy called asking for my husband I said can you just let Stephanie call me she said I'm the general manager I said ik you told me this 4 times. I typically get my exam elsewhere, but I always get my glasses and sunglasses here, and I've never had such attention to detail paid to how my frames fit. Bob the owner is great. Doctor are acceptable. Problem is the office women at the desk are argumentative and rude. There's a women whom are really incompetent and can only seem to function if the screen prompts them what to say or do. Was a 2 hour ordeal over the phone with a girl Jennifer, trying to make an appointment for my family member for NEXT YEAR (2+months away). I got so upset a trying to schedule the appointment because the woman was trying to get log into my insurance company to get pre-authorization, but when she couldn't, she shut down and could not function. Told me I would have to pay cash because my family member was not list when she tried to login her computer system and their name was not there. I know they are on the insurance, and repeatedly tried to give her the information. But she couldn't function because the computer said otherwise. She said I would have to pay cash! So, I know there's a mistake on her end. So I said, "Sure, Please make the appointment." She outright refused, as I think she was expecting her "cash comment" to end it there! What a B'. She then utterly refused. So I asked to talk to the owner, and she refused! I called back several time in an attempt to reach Bob the owner, however Jennifer kept on answering and at one point changed her name as if I could not tell it was the same woman! Eventually, Bob called me about an hour back. Bob made no-apologies for the rude behavior, and called my comments as constructive feedback. Bob said they are trained that way, flatly, and took that as he purposely trained them that way! read more
